Chapter 1034: Another Kiss?

“What was that about?” Gaia asked with a pout.

Rael shrugged and decided to dig into the food he had just bought. Being ignored wasn’t the most fun feeling, since she knew for a fact that he had some hidden intentions behind doing what he just did.

The only problem was that, no matter how much she tried to get into his mind and tinker around with it, she wasn’t able to. He was holding back a fair deal, that much she was sure of, but for some reason, the only memories she had access to were those where he had admired her and stared at her from a distance.

Some where he plainly thought of her, and even more that she didn’t have the willpower to check out. It was a mess of memories… But then again, she knew that he was being completely genuine when he kissed her.

But still…

“You’re a jerk, you know that?” She sat down beside him and stole the food he had just started to eat. “If your idea of making me fall for you is to kiss me and shower me with love, then…”

She did want to say that it wouldn’t work, but now that she noticed her reflection in his tea cup, she saw just how much she was blushing. It was definitely working, and she wasn’t sure how to feel about that.

“Ugh…”

Rael let out a chuckle. “Don’t mind it. Just do whatever you want. I might do it again if you finish eating before me.”

“But you don’t have anything to eat?” Gaia pointed out.

He smiled. “I do have a full cup of tea.”

Hearing that, she wasn’t sure how to feel once more. Despite that, she did feel a little hungry, and so she dug into the food that he had bought for himself, completely ignoring the portion that he had bought her as well.

Or rather, she didn’t ignore it. After she was done with his portion, she ate her own as well. Then she glanced over to him and realized that he hadn’t touched his tea in the slightest.

Noticing her gaze, Rael shrugged and said:

“It’s hot. I don’t like drinking when it’s so hot.”

“…”

So he tricked her.

“I thought we’d do a normal competition,” Gaia said.

Well…

He did plan on competing with her, but he could eat wayyy faster than her. Therefore, he just shrugged and proceeded to lean back in his seat, thinking of what he wanted to do next.

His children would be born soon. Then, Lilith wanted a lot of kids too, and then there were also Gaia and Nyx… He wanted them both, since he knew that in the corner of their hearts, they did hold some interest in him.

Gaia, in particular, had this stoic expression whenever she stared at him, when in reality, she was one kiss away from completely folding.

Rael recalled the kiss and chuckled. He did try to surprise her a little, but he was surprised instead when she had accidentally stuck her tongue inside his mouth. He almost bit it.

He wasn’t going to remind her of it, nor was he going to show her those memories. He knew that if he did, she would sulk for ages.

So instead, noticing that she was done with her food, Rael went ahead and downed his tea. Afterwards, he rose from his seat and extended his hand to Gaia.

“Do you want to go on a walk?”

“You make it sound like I’m your dog,” Gaia replied, rolling her eyes.

“…”

Rael facepalmed inwardly.

“You’re pretty bad at making me feel shitty. Ah, also, you should be careful with all this teasing, since I might just kiss you again. After all, you did win the bet, didn’t you?”

Gaia paused for a moment. “I did…”

Yep.

Therefore, right as she stood up, Rael went ahead and leaned in. She was greatly surprised, thinking that he was going to kiss her again, so she subconsciously closed her eyes.

However, instead of a kiss, Rael licked the cream off her cheek. When she was eating the cake, she had rushed a bit too much and gotten the cream all over herself.

But despite this kind gesture of his, she didn’t see it as kind in the slightest. In fact, she blushed even more as she felt his tongue on her cheek. She abruptly opened her eyes, wanting to see it firsthand.

Yet by then, it was already too late. He had backed off and smirked.

“Expecting something?” Rael asked.

Hearing that, she pouted once more, grabbed his hand, and then dragged him away.

Though she had no idea where she was going, so instead of some grand goal, all she did was lead him around the city. It was a nice city, but it was more like a town, since it wasn’t that large. There weren’t that many people either, and those that were here were all old.

From the looks of things, this was one of those worlds where kids were born, taught, and then sent off to learn. She liked it, since an environment where the kids could grow was always nice.

Plus, most old people were cranky and stupid when it came to modern dealings, so she’d never want them around any of her kids.

Pausing for a moment, Gaia realized that she had just entertained the thought of kids. She had never thought of it before, but was one kiss and one lick of her cheek enough to throw her off so much?

She felt a bit pathetic at first, but when she felt the warm embrace of Rael’s hand, she decided to just accept it and move on ahead.

And of course, within just a few minutes, she had reached some kind of stable. There were a few horses up ahead, and from the looks of things, this was one of those places where one could rent a horse and go on a ride.

She glanced back at him, and as their eyes met, Rael understood what she wanted immediately.
