Chapter 566: Five Sisters?
Chapter 566: Five Sisters?
The moment Rael pressed "Yes," his body began to glow. For a second, he was expecting only his consciousness to be transferred, similar to the Mind Realm. But instead, his body was propelled forward, much faster than the speed of light.
As he flew aimlessly through what seemed like an endless void, he saw a pair of hands appear above him. Then, another pair, and another. Eventually, there was nothing but hands all around him.
Although it was a little creepy, Rael knew that the only way to escape from this infinite wormhole was to grab one of those hands.
And so he did.
As he grabbed the hand closest to him, his consciousness momentarily faded.
For a moment, it felt like he was floating. But then, he realized he was just being drowned.
Rael swiftly opened his eyes and found himself sinking deep into a vast ocean. No matter where he looked, he couldn’t see the ocean floor or even the land above him. It was just water.
Fucking hell... Rael took a deep breath, his Fishmancy skill coming in clutch. If I had no way of dealing with this, I’d be getting a new phobia. That’s for certain.
Still, Rael drew his attention below, where he assumed the ocean floor was. After all, while he couldn’t feel anything, he could at least tell the difference between up and down.
He just didn’t want to accidentally swim too fast, because with his Law of Destruction and Law of Plasma being at such high mastery, it was only a matter of time before he blew up a world.
Though, it’s a real lifesaver that the Law of Destruction’s mastery counts toward the Plasma Mastery.
If it hadn’t, he would be completely broke by now.
The same couldn’t be said about the Law of Earth, though. It was simple to understand, and its final effect was just the formation of a domain, which would be the size of a planet.
But I don’t have the energy to maintain a whole world just yet. Maybe after I deal with all this exhausting stuff first.
And so, while he continued traveling downward and regretting some of his choices, Rael eventually reached the ocean floor.
It took him nearly an hour, and by now, even with his stats so high, it was hard to breathe.
Water pressure? Seriously? Rael sighed and then finally decided to speak.
"Evelyn, I don’t know what kind of sick game you’re trying to play here, but I don’t have much time... Unless your plan was to drown me. In that case, I’m not really into these kinds of kinks."
Silence hung in the air for a few short moments until finally, he heard a splash behind him, then another.
A faint smile appeared on his face, and as he turned around to face the splashing, his vision suddenly shifted, and instead of a deep ocean, he found himself at the bottom of a pool.
A kid’s pool that was only an arm’s length deep.
Rael’s brows twitched as he jumped up from the pool and glanced around, immediately spotting Evelyn.
This area was a large beach on what appeared to be a deserted island. And the big, bad Grade 10 Ancient Mindweaver was currently in a bikini getting a tan.
But she wasn’t alone. There were four more women with her. Two were also sunbathing, while the other two were splashing themselves in the ocean only a few meters away.
He couldn’t really understand what was happening, but even so, he stepped out of the kid’s pool and approached Evelyn, stopping right above her.
She had a pair of sunglasses on, but he knew sure as shit that she could see him.
"Hey..." Rael waved slowly. "Mind telling me what that was about a moment ago?"
Evelyn’s smile grew as she adjusted her bikini, then stared directly at him.
"Didn’t like the water?"
"I’m not really a fan of drowning, no," Rael replied bluntly. "On the other hand, I asked for a meeting so you could teach me what being an Ancient Mindweaver really means. But..."
He raised a brow and glanced around, especially at the four women.
"You brought your harem?"
For the first time in a while, Evelyn’s brows twitched in slight irritation. The same applied to every single one of the women present as they all turned toward him and glared.
"Sorry...?"
Evelyn crossed her arms.
"They’re my sisters. Now that you’re an Ancient Mindweaver, they are your sisters as well."
Rael’s eyes widened.
"Seriously...?"
"Seriously."
He didn’t dislike it, but at the same time... four new sisters?
Didn’t that also mean that Evelyn was his sister too?
All this stuff was starting to make his head spin until eventually, every single one of the women let out a giggle.
The one closest to Evelyn took off her sunglasses, revealing gem-like blue eyes, and then gave him a wink.
"We were just kidding. None of us consider each other family. It would be akin to the human race considering every single one of them a member of their family," she said, then tipped her sunglasses at him. "Name’s Beatrice, by the way."
"..."
"Huh?"
Rael narrowed his eyes at the woman calling herself Beatrice. The name was familiar, very familiar. It was the same name that belonged to that obsessive spider woman in the Plague Lands.
He recalled Beatrice’s appearance when she wasn’t a spider.
Black hair... check.
Blue eyes... check.
Cocky expression... fuck.
"How are you here?" Rael asked in disbelief. "Aren’t you still like level 800 or something? Also, you’re not an Ancient Mindweaver, are you? Last I remember, you were a spider."
Beatrice nearly broke her glasses, but instead, she scoffed.
"Yeah, and you, mister dragon and demon. You’re an Ancient Mindweaver, so why can’t I be one as well?"
Before Rael could reply, Evelyn raised her hand, stopping their bickering.
"She is who you think she is, and unlike the other girls here, she is my actual sister. Or rather, we formed an oath to be sisters," Evelyn explained, then gestured at each of the girls. "We are all Ancient Mindweavers, so don’t be too shy."
Another round of giggles resounded.
[Hmm... So the harem card is still in play,] Anna remarked out of nowhere.
Hearing her absurd comment, he imagined muting her, and she stopped talking.
But aside from that, Rael had more serious matters to deal with, which, of course, included how to properly utilize his mind-based abilities.
So with that in mind, Rael sat down beside Evelyn and flashed a smile before explaining the reason why he had contacted her in the first place.
