Chapter 663: Committing Another War Crime [ 1 / 2 ]
Reili’s body burst into white flames, and despite the amount of power Rael had used just now, it felt meaningless.
The ground shook fiercely, and the walls of the labyrinth suddenly melted from the heat.
Even Rael’s body wasn’t spared, as he was forced to take a few dozen steps back, all while his bones were completely visible.
Yet when he got far enough away, he glanced back at Reili and let out a sigh.
He was very resilient.
Rael was genuinely not sure how to go about killing someone that resilient, but then again, there were Laws for everything.
The Law of Death, for example.
He could kill Reili’s individual cells, and he wouldn’t be able to regenerate them.
That would allow Rael to deal with him without having to worry about anything.
But then again, when was it ever so easy?
Rael closed his eyes and finally left the Prophetic Realm.
In an instant, time synced up with what happened a moment ago, and before he knew it, a fierce punch came flying his way.
It was a bit comical how a Grade 9 resorted to normal punches.
But Rael decided it was time he used one of his skills that he had been dying to try out.
Eternal Theater: Rewrite the battlefield into your Eternal Stage. All threaded beings are forced to enact the roles you assign: ally, enemy, traitor, or victim. Resisting beings fracture their own souls with each attempt.
It seemed simple at a glance, and Rael wasn’t sure how the skill worked.
However, that didn’t stop him from snapping his fingers and casting the skill.
The labyrinth immediately vanished, and what appeared in its place was a stage.
It was as if he found himself in a theater room.
He was sitting in the front, and on the other hand, Reili was on the stage, standing like a mannequin.
The amount of mana this skill was draining was immense. However, it wasn’t exactly a problem, because he had the Law of Time.
All he needed to do was slightly turn back the time of his own body, and he would be back to full mana.
Do that a few times every other second, and he has infinite mana.
Still...
<Assign a role to the beings on stage>
<Ally: All stats increase by 5x>
<Enemy: All damage taken increases by 10x>
<Traitor: MAX HP decreased by 90%>
<Victim: HP increased by 10%>
It was a weird arsenal of roles, but among many other things, Enemy and Traitor caught his eye the most.
They were simple, and one would allow Rael to deal a lot more damage, while the other didn’t need him dealing that much damage at all.
Rael thought about it for a few moments, and soon enough, he decided to just go with the Enemy role.
After all, he learned better than anyone that HP didn’t matter much, but if he could do more damage, then the strength of his Laws would go up from 1 million % to 10 million %.
It didn’t seem like a huge increase, but it actually was.
<Enemy selected!>
The moment that pop-up fell, the curtain on the stage closed in.
Rael thought the skill was malfunctioning.
Yet the curtains quickly retracted, revealing the stunned Reili.
Unlike his normal attire earlier, he was now dressed in some weird clown outfit, and he even had a red nose.
It was silly and degrading.
But this was exactly what Rael wanted for Reili to experience.
However, now that he was in this situation, Rael wasn’t sure what else to do with the skill.
That was until another pop-up appeared.
<As long as the role is atop the stage, the effects will be active.>
<The strength of the stage is proportional to your MAX MP.>
Seeing that, Rael grumbled slightly.
If the barrier was as powerful as his total MP, then that wouldn’t be hard to break out of.
But right as Reili snapped out of it and threw a punch, Rael dashed atop the stage and sent a punch straight to his chin.
The wind was knocked out of him, and Rael felt bone-shattering force.
Yet when he glanced down, Rael realized it was his hand that had shattered.
But the battle wasn’t anywhere near over, so Rael decided to employ his earlier tactics.
He snapped his fingers, and above him, a black shadow appeared.
Then, that shadow morphed into a scythe and swung down at Reili.
Reili obviously saw that coming and dodged, but to his own surprise, that attack still hit.
And that was because the moment Rael threw that attack, he hopped into the Prophetic Realm and proceeded to attack him with the same attack.
The Law of Death, and it took the form of a scythe.
So as the scythe passed through Reili’s body, it managed to cleave his left arm off.
He hurried to regenerate it, but it was to no avail.
And eventually, when he realized just how bad things were getting, he opened his mouth and spewed out white flames.
They were incredibly fast, but since Rael could see into the future, it wasn’t a big problem.
Dodging the flames, he shifted his weight and took a step forward, then another, and another.
He took very quick steps, and before Reili knew it, the gravity weighing down on him increased drastically.
Every step Rael took, the gravity doubled.
And with it doubling consistently and exponentially, Reili’s head was eventually crushed, and then his body.
However, Rael also couldn’t take another step, since he would begin feeling the backlash too.
But then again, he didn’t need to do much, as all that was left was simple.
Rael approached the puddle of blood that was Reili’s body.
He was slowly regenerating.
Killing strong people like this really was troublesome...
And yet, Rael was excited.
After all, there was one thing he had been dying to try out.
It was evil and unethical, but since he was dealing with evil and unethical people, he waved it off as fine.
Rael crouched down and smiled.
"I wonder how you’d look as my construct?"
