Chapter 693: The God of Mischief [ 2 ]

Chapter 693: The God of Mischief [ 2 ]

"Hey there." Loki waved at him with a slight smile. "I couldn’t help but notice you’ve been getting a little active as of late. After the death of Chunma, I unfortunately felt like I had to intervene. I hope you don’t mind, Rael."

Even the tone he spoke in was oddly authoritative, which further irked Rael.

Even though Loki was Grade 10 like the others, he felt like he was in a whole different realm altogether.

He was incredibly powerful, and Rael felt like one wrong move would get him killed.

Since he somehow managed to mirror his attack, Rael felt a little intimidated too.

But even so, Rael was constantly looking for an opportunity to strike.

"There’s no need for any fighting," Loki said.

He extended his hands outward.

"Simply give up and come with us, and we’ll forgive your insolence."

"No thanks," Rael replied instantly.

Loki stared at him for a moment, then shrugged.

Just then, he snapped his fingers.

In an instant, the surroundings turned dark.

But soon enough, Rael spotted another Loki emerging from the shadows.

Then another, and another.

In just a few seconds, there were hundreds of Lokis scattered around, and to Rael’s surprise, every single one of them felt like the real one.

Rael tried to hop into his Prophetic Realm and quickly find whichever Loki it could be.

But before he could do that, Rael saw Loki appear before him.

His consciousness was in the midst of traveling to the Prophetic Realm, so for a fraction of a second, Rael was vulnerable.

And as if using that timing, Loki swiftly tore through Rael’s chest, ripping his heart out.

The pain was surprisingly real, and for a moment, Rael felt as though his consciousness was fading away.

But that was when Anna suddenly reappeared behind Loki and jumped atop his shoulders.

She suddenly bit down on his neck, and in an instant, Loki backed off.

Every surrounding Loki was also visibly shaken, to the point where their number reduced significantly.

In fact, they nearly halved.

Rael’s heart burst, but then quickly regenerated.

Just like that, Rael felt rejuvenated again.

However, as he stared at Anna, who was slightly exhausted, he couldn’t help but let out a sigh.

"I’m not sure what you did, but thanks."

Anna nodded at him.

"I bit into his soul."

Oh...

That made sense.

But even if she bit into his soul, Rael noticed that Loki was once again duplicating, almost like the Soul Damage was barely negligible.

It was even more annoying that Rael couldn’t copy any of his abilities, even after seeing them countless times.

But maybe he just wasn’t exactly seeing the right things?

Either way, since he realized that letting his guard down would get him killed, Rael proceeded to raise his hand and instantly cast the Heavenly Slash.

As the slash traveled toward Loki, he suddenly raised his hand to mirror Rael’s attack.

It was the same as last time.

But Rael was sure there was a cooldown here.

And so, without hesitation, Rael proceeded to launch several more Heavenly Slashes.

Yet, despite what he thought, Loki perfectly countered them in the same manner.

He was greatly confused.

Could it be possible that Loki didn’t have a cooldown for this mirroring ability?

Rael didn’t let up in his attacks, trying to break the space he found himself in, but alas, everything he did was futile.

At some point, Loki began countering with his own attacks.

Loki was powerful.

Much more powerful than Rael or the other Grade 10s he had fought.

But his attacks were also unique in a way.

The best way Rael could describe them was deceptive...

A fireball might come flying his way, but turn into a fire-breathing dragon soon after.

A garden of roses might appear, only for those roses to be a giant black hole.

Rael’s injuries began to accumulate even though he wasn’t being hit.

But that was when, before Rael could use his Heavenly Slash, Loki used it instead.

It wasn’t even mirroring this time.

Instead, it was a full-blown attack, almost like he could use it in the same way Rael could.

Rael obviously evaded the attack, and yet, when he took a few steps back and glanced ahead, his brows furrowed.

All the Lokis were the same.

But their postures had been mimicking Rael since the very start.

Rael wracked his mind for a few short moments, and soon enough, he let out a sigh.

The truth had been staring him straight in the eye since the start.

He hadn’t been fighting Loki.

Instead, he had been fighting himself.

But if that was the case, where was Loki...?

He was sure that Anna attacked the original Loki back then, but by now, Rael had lost track of him.

Let’s see... Who was the only Loki who didn’t mimic my Heavenly Slash?

Rael glanced at the tens of Lokis until finally, his gaze stopped on one in particular.

This Loki near the front was strong, so strong that it almost made Rael forget the fact that this one never really used the Heavenly Slash against him.

And since that was the case...

Instead of keeping his distance, Rael suddenly blinked ahead, reappearing in front of that particular Loki.

But as though Loki had been waiting for this exact moment, a thin blue blade appeared out of thin air.

He wielded it with precision and quickly thrust it at Rael.

Yet instead of panicking, Rael did something he hadn’t done in a while.

He reached into his inventory, and then pulled out a particular set of weapons.

<Supreme Violin Blade (Divine)>

The Violin Blade.

Except this was the Violin Blade used in the fight against Solenne.

The same fight where he was forced to later delete this item.

But with him buying back his shadow and restoring everything...

This item was also back.

Rael gripped the pitch black supreme blade and then focused on one of the only strings on the Violin Blade that dealt any solid damage.

The Violet String.
