Chapter 694: The God of Mischief [ 3 ]
Time seemed to slow down considerably.
Loki’s attack was coming, but Rael was strangely at ease.
The Violin Blade was a weapon that he used because of how simple and overpowered it was.
Frankly, ever since then, Rael hadn’t seen a weapon like it.
So, as the attack kept coming, Rael finally took a deep breath.
And then, he infused the Supreme Blade with every single one of his laws and moved it at several thousand times the speed of light, ringing it across the Violet String over and over again.
The durability of the Violin Blade was going down swiftly, and even the Violet String looked like it was about to break.
But with the amount of money and mana Rael had, he didn’t hesitate to repair it just before it could break.
Nonetheless, the fraction of a second ended soon.
And once time seemed to resume to normal, the whole space was filled to the brim with silver notes, all of which radiated an insane amount of power.
Finally, Loki’s attack came.
But Rael’s attack didn’t lag behind either.
In the blink of an eye, every single one of those notes flew toward the Loki in front of him.
And the devastation that followed was nothing short of universe-shattering.
Loki’s blade was disintegrated in an instant.
He then tried to back away in that short time frame, but he wasn’t able to, as the billions of notes came crashing against his body.
The dark space shattered, and every single duplicate Loki vanished.
But the attack was nowhere near finished.
The cloudy floor of Yggdrasil parted, revealing thousands of intertwined roots which firmly held back the notes from breaking through them.
But even so, a few managed to pass by, causing large gashes to appear in the ground, which were quickly patched up by the clouds.
Yet Rael didn’t focus on the destruction, and instead, he focused on the outcome.
Loki had blocked a few of those attacks miraculously, but the remainder managed to completely destroy his body.
And as the last few billion notes crashed into him, he was left with nothing but a skinless skull that rested on the ground.
And as if it was the cherry on top, the sound of billions of notes resounded at once, blasting Rael’s eardrums out.
—RING!
Rael staggered back a few steps and saw thousands of pop-ups appearing in his peripheral vision.
Once he glanced at them, he was surprised.
<Ding!>
<(x992,482,004) Supreme Soul Resonance has been triggered.>
<(x992,482,004) Soul Damage has been inflicted!>
"Damn..."
The damage might be minimal because at most, he could do around Tier 35 Vitality worth of damage.
But when that damage was stacked hundreds of millions of times, and translated into Soul Damage, then it became a little more overpowered.
Had Rael been a little bit more prepared and proficient, he would’ve used Heavenly Slash with his Violin Blade.
Then again, he would take this as well.
Rael glanced at the Ancient Primordials in the distance, who were staring at the sight with wide eyes.
Then, he slowly made his way up to Loki’s skull.
And finally, he crouched down, ready to crush his skull once and for all.
But that was when a faint smile appeared on the skinless skull.
Rael was instantly startled, and before he knew it, he heard a chuckle resound from behind him.
The moment he turned around, he saw Loki, who appeared completely unscathed at a glance.
"Well, that was impressive...." Loki remarked, then clapped a few times.
Only then did Rael realize that Loki’s hands were trembling slightly.
So despite his brave bravado, he was clearly injured.
And the injuries were not minor either.
Rael was sure of that much.
"So you can create a space where someone fights against himself. Though, I’m also pretty sure you don’t actually have to be there, so what gives?"
Loki chuckled again.
"Curiosity, mainly. Another thing was that I was asked to inspect your current power level firsthand, and simply put, you are just slightly under our expectations."
Slightly under...?
Even after everything that he just did?
Just then, Gaia’s voice resounded inside his mind.
[Ancient Primordials also have a power structure amongst themselves. There are those who are just made to work, like Autumn and the others. Then there are Ancient Primordials like Loki, who are what that group considers as Captains...]
Hearing her tone, Rael’s eyes widened slightly.
Captains? So this guy isn’t even that high up in the food chain?
[They have Vice Captains, Captains, Generals, and then Admirals. So yes, if you want to consider him as someone who’s not that high up, then you’d be correct. But if it’s Loki, he likely has the power of a General, but due to his mischief, he can’t get promoted,] Gaia replied patiently.
I see...
It seemed like Rael was in a bit more of a pickle than he had anticipated.
These people were really powerful.
And if Loki was already this powerful, Rael didn’t even want to know how powerful the other Generals and Admirals were.
But as Rael was preparing himself to fight once again, he quickly realized Loki’s presence was growing faint.
That was until Loki suddenly waved at him and finally vanished, leaving only Autumn and the others standing idly by.
Did he simply leave?
As much as Rael wanted to check out the Prophetic Realm, he had a suspicion that he would get attacked the moment he entered that place.
So instead, Rael decided to farm a little.
He grasped his Supreme Blade and put it against the Violet String.
He began imagining the Heavenly Slash, and once he felt like he got it down, Rael finally hit the Violet String.
In the next instant, a silvery arc appeared out of thin air, and Rael freely controlled it, expanding it as much as he could.
A faint smile appeared on his face.
And with another thought, he accelerated the arc, sending it hurtling toward every single one of the Ancient Primordials present.
