Chapter 2517: Breakthroughs
Chapter 2517: Breakthroughs
In these seven days, the training on Sam’s side went smoothly.
In these seven days, the managers killed one beast per day and brought them all. With each progressing day, the damage on the beasts was lesser. Their attacks became precise. Very precise.
Surprisingly, the first one to reach the requirement on the beast killing was, Miko. On the seventh day, the beast only had one proper strike, a proper cut on the neck, and it just bled out. Of course, for Sam’s sake, Miko didn’t even let it bleed out completely.
She collected the blood and brought it to him.
"I think you can start cultivating now Miko.
I need you to recall the feeling you had, when you are concentrating the energy when you were attacking.
The training suit that you have is not enough like it was for my friends. You need to draw and assimilate the energy yourself. For you, the suit is just a secondary support that will reduce the leakage.
One of the reasons is that when you entered the Consummation stage, your body already kinda had some permanent changes.
You are getting closer to go past the Divine Plane. So, I can’t forcefully inject the energy like I am doing to my friends.
And if you do, there is a chance your body will have to endure some permanent damages.
You need to manage the energy based on whatever changes that already happened in your body.
Use that focus and guide that energy in your energy networks. The suit will help you speed up the process by multiple times. And most importantly, you need to keep doing that throughout the day.
You will cultivate for eight hours without any movement.
For the remaining sixteen hours, you will be fighting. Doing the same thing that you have been doing all this while."
Miko nodded like she understood.
Sam turned to rest of the managers.
"You guys are slow. Speed it up if you want to catch up. At this rate, you guys are going to lag behind. The distance will only grow bigger if you don’t catch up fast enough."
Sam sent them away. Then turned to his friends.
They also completed their tasks. They met their quota for the beasts and they too improved. But not as much as the managers.
They had to alternate. So, their improvement was slower. At least, the rest of the gang, the trio had significant improvement because they were used to practicing the energy control and precision.
"There is only slight change in your training regiment. You need to start absorbing energy even when you are fighting or doing other activities.
Your stationary cultivation is gonna be limited for now. You need to speed up.
We will increase the stakes more, after the first minor breakthrough, which should be done by day after tomorrow if my calculations are right."
After adjusting their suits and guiding them a bit, Sam went back to doing what he needed to do.
Now that he had enough carcasses, there is something that he needed to try out.
Apart from the blood iron and the extremely sturdy skeletons, he got something else from the beasts and their dead bodies.
Their internal organs. Lungs, intestine, and all the other residual matter, whatever’s left inside their bodies.
In his past life, one of the fields that Sam dominated in was energy.
And while dabbling in, he did some advancements in Bio fuel.
He used many different materials to do it before. Until now, he only ever had to use methane and he outgrew it very quickly.
But once again, he is in a place that put him at the bottom of the food chain and he needs to find something that would even the playing field, a little bit.
So, he continued his experiments.
...
Two days passed.
Inside the cave.
Sam’s friends are in their meditative states, all of them felt the surge of energy, as more than half of the energy in the inheritance has been digested.
Their breakthroughs were almost simultaneous, with the trio in the lead followed by the rest. Everyone entered the late stage Divine Plane Initiation.
At the same time, as if on cue, the Managers also brought their daily quota of the beasts.
Sam observed the dead bodies and said.
"All of you passed. Icarus, I am kinda disappointed in you, man. You had better control than the rest since the start. I expected you to reach first. But you were beat my Miko. And based on the temperature of these dead bodies, you were only better than Ivar right now.
And Ivar gets a pass because precision wasn’t his thing at all. It is completely justified for him to come last.
As for you... it seems like since your revenge has been completed, you don’t feel as motivated anymore. Any problems you are dealing with right now? Anything you want to talk?"
Icarus stayed silent for a moment, and just said
"I will rectify it myself. I am just a bit distracted. I will catchup."
"If you are having doubts continuing forward, you can either express them or if you think this fight doesn’t seem like yours, you can leave.
You did help me a lot, we can call everything even.
I am not saying this to insult you or anything. But if your heart is not here and you are just going to stay here for the sake of some payback, I would rather not have you here. Think about it."
Icarus nodded and didn’t say much.
But the rest of the gang looked at Sam and were a bit concerned. They didn’t even discuss about it, but they were all thinking it.
So, Philip who was considered closest to Sam asked.
"Sam, our speed increased a lot and we are already breaking through. But what about you? You are not getting much time to cultivate."
Sam just smiled and as if on cue, the beasts inside the cave reacted, increasing their energy....
At the same time, all of them broke through to the late stage and Sam wasn’t even in a meditative state. He was standing taking care of the beast carcasses while his body went through the breakthrough. And not a drop of energy was wasted.
"You guys don’t worry about me. All I need is a large amount of energy and enough time to finish my breakthrough.
The only thing hindering me is that you guys won’t catch up fast enough."
