Chapter 2542: Training
Chapter 2542: Training
"Perception?" Bloody Chariot was stupefied.
"Yes. That was it. Perception." Yudhi replied
"You are kidding right? It cannot be that... I am almost a god and I lost to a guy with lesser cultivation than me, because of the perception? It cannot be that..."
"And why can’t it be that?"
Bloody Chariot was stunned again... ’Why can’t it be that?’ He didn’t have an answer for that. But he just felt that it can’t be.
If all it takes is just some change in perception to surpass levels at their cultivation stages... everything he thought he knew about cultivation and battles, would be useless.
"But, how? It just doesn’t make any sense..."
"Bloody Chariot, there is a reason why our world became isolated.
And for me... I never lie. I see it as something beneath me. So, do not for a moment think that I am trying to pull one over you.
What I said is the truth. It is a matter of perception.
If you can understand it and learn from it.. good. But if you can’t... you are nothing but a frog in the well.
No matter what it is, please stop showing your frustration and effecting our village.
Please focus on your recovery and leave once its attained, if you choose to continue this attitude."
With that, he ended the conversation. Yudhi’s tone didn’t contain any hint of hostility. Those words were as soft, plain and neutral as the time Yudhi greeted him for the first time.
But it was obvious that the guy didn’t have any intention handling Bloody Chariot’s temper tantrums.
Bloody Chariot sat in the chair for a long time. He didn’t even know how long.. but at one point, he got up and walked to the cottage and laid down on the bed.
He was just in a daze for hours.
Yudhi’s comment about him being a frog in the well, hit him harder than he wanted to admit. He didn’t know why...
But it felt like he was reminded of a forgotten part of himself.
And stewing in that thought for a long time, made him decide.
He got out of the cottage, the next morning and walked around the village. He first came to the village centre, where the kids, who didn’t even awaken were training. They had basic physical training first which all of them did together.
Later, the kids picked their weapon of choice and separated in groups based on the weapon. Each group went in a different direction, ending up at a different training ground.
Bloody Chariot followed the sword group and witnessed the whole training.
It was unique, and different. But it didn’t feel any special.
He stayed with that group for the rest of day. He ate the meals with them, watched them train, went back to the center at night along with them.
But he never once interrupted them, or asked them any question.
When the kids were retired for the night, he went back to the cottage and let himself sleep.
He repeated the routine. The next morning he picked a different group.
Once again, he watched them train, walked with them, ate with them and went back to sleep.
He did this for a week.
On the eighth day, he picked one group again and this time, instead of just following them, he trained. Even though his preferred weapon is lance, Bloody Chariot is familiar with most weapons. He didn’t find it any difficult or uncomfortable to use another weapon.
He even sealed his cultivation and trained. Of course, it’s impossible for him to feel physical exhaustion with the same training as those kids.
He didn’t even sweat, but he did train just like them.
The next day, he spent his time with another group. He didn’t go and look into the training classes of the cultivators. As a member of the academy, he knew better than asking.
He just wanted to spend time with these kids.
Once in a while, the kids had theory classes.
Bloody Chariot was hesitant about sitting in them, but he was reassured by Naka that he was welcome to do so.
So, he did.
Days passed, very slowly.
Bloody Chariot didn’t cultivate. But he did take the porridge every day, so his recovery once again got back on track.
Meanwhile, the knowledge he was gaining from the kids’ lessons, albeit rudimentary and not at all deep, felt somewhat enlightening to him.
It felt so simple, time consuming... but there was a certain attitude the kids have towards their training, that made him feel like he got a glimpse of that missing piece, he was thinking about.
And he realized the decision to follow the kids turned out to be a good one. Because after he thought about Yudhi’s words. The perception... it irked him to no end. But after he calmed himself down, he wanted to see how the perception is trained here.
Because unlike most things, perception can’t be trained in a short time. It’s always ingrained slowly, gradually, over time.
So, he wanted to see, what shaped the perception in this village to make them strong. And he wanted to see where it all started.
It was good though.
He couldn’t get the clear understanding that he wanted, but he just enjoyed the training sessions, going back to basics.
And one of those days, he finished his archery training and was about to go back...

He heard a sound. A sound so familiar and also unfamiliar at the same time. He looked in the direction of where the sound came from...

He walked in the direction without thinking much.

As he gradually walked, soon he came to an empty patch, that looked like another training ground. There, the third one of the five siblings, Naka’s third elder brother. Parth, was standing there with a bow in his hands.
He held the bow with his left hand and gently pulled the string.
The tension in the bow increased. There was no arrow or anything... he wasn’t even using his divine energy or even basic spiritual energy. But just let go of the string.
