Chapter 476: A Happy Peaceful Day. Part-2. (Rio X Lia)

Chapter 476: A Happy Peaceful Day. Part-2. (Rio X Lia)

Rio and Lia walked inside holding hands and a smile on their faces.

"I kind of already get why this place is so famous... even the main entrance is already so amazing..."

There were historical records carved in the walls with golden letters; the environment was appropriately dim and was making the letters shine brightly.

Reliefs of ancient marine creatures were carved in the walls with extreme precision and detail.

"This place was my mom’s favourite; she used to bring me here when I was very young... I barely remember anything about this place, though..."

"Thus, even if I have been here before, it would still be considered new for me..."

Lia was in full excited mode and told Rio about her past without hesitation, as she had nothing to hide from him.

Now that she’s already out of her past worries, she doesn’t get upset when talking about things from her past anymore and can maintain her calm mood.

In the past, she would have gotten upset and depressed at the mention of her mother, but now she can face that past without feeling sad.

It’s because she has moved on in life and has found her own happiness, and she knew that her mother would also want her to be happy too.

"This place is ideal for couples... it’s quiet and calming, and even the environment is dim making it possible to go in the romantic mood easily..."

"Don’t tell me that your mother also liked to come here on a date with your father... she really had a great taste..."

Lia jabbed Rio lightly in the side to protest against those words.

"I was talking about how she used to bring me here. why are you going so off-topic? your thoughts wander so far out of nowhere..."

"But now that you mention it... perhaps she indeed came here on a date with father..."

"Come to think of it, I have never asked father how the two of them met for the first time..."

Rio shook his head and replied in an unsure tone,

"Well, folks from the previous generation grew up during the times of war... even Professor Jin and Anna were born and met each other during the Orc War..."

"Perhaps that might be the case for your parents too... talking about parents, I am not sure about how my parents met either..."

Hearing Rio mention his parents, Lia was taken aback for a second, but then she remembered that Rio was an orphan.

It’s not that Lia has a bad memory and she forgot; it’s just that Rio never mentions his past and never talks about his parents as much as she or anyone else in their friend group does.

Even Link, who’s always fawning over Riya and has an empty mind most of the time, has talked about his father and mother before, but Rio has never mentioned them.

"Forget it; don’t focus on this topic anymore. we aren’t here to worry about anything today; we are here to relax and enjoy..."

As if seeing the look of awkwardness and worry appear on Lia’s face, Rio immediately changed the topic.

’I have already met the old man from those memory fragments and has already made peace with my past... there’s no need to pointlessly worry about these things anymore...’

While thinking so, Rio glanced upwards and noticed that a massive dragon was carved on the ceiling with silver and blue colors.

As if noticing Rio’s gaze, Lia also glanced upwards and noticed the carving.

"Oh, I know this one; this is a carving made based on how the first dragon king used to look like..."

"Legend has it that King Allen once fought the First Dragon King during the beginning years of the demon extinction war..."

Rio tilted his head in confusion and asked,

"Why put a dragon carving in an aquarium... don’t tell me..."

As if noticing Rio’s confusion and realization, Lia nodded her head and replied with a gentle smile on her face,

"Yes, the first dragon king was a water dragon... or you can say ’A Storm Dragon’..."

"Moreover, all dragons are excellent swimmers and can even stay underwater without needing to breathe, so they can also be considered aquatic creatures too..."

As dragons have powerful physiques and are able to survive on mana alone without needing to eat or breathe anything, they are able to survive in most environments easily.

They already have the capabilities that other creatures only acquire after reaching S-rank since birth.

Rio has become an S-ranker and can survive without needing to eat or breathe at all, as he can just use mana as his energy source and can even recover his mana from the surroundings.

S-rankers are already a step higher than mortal creatures and can already be considered supernatural entities that won’t die even if they eat toxic radiation-spreading substances like uranium or something.

’Eating uranium... that sounds kind of weird. But I quite sure I won’t be affected even if I ate it... even miasma and corruption couldn’t do much to me, let alone radiation...’

Rio shook his head and stopped thinking about these weird things in his mind and entered the first hall with Lia.

As the aquarium is built on a massive area, it has several different halls, with each being dedicated to showcasing different types of species.

"The first one is already quite mind-blowing... They have silver sharks here!?"

Rio was surprised right from the start.

Silver Sharks are creatures that look like sharks but are as big as a whale and have silver dragon-like scales on their body.

"The place did look big from outside but it’s even bigger from inside... I see they have space-stretching artifacts here like in the Rex Mansion..."

The silver sharks are as big as a whale, so obviously they need massive space, and thus the first hall is indeed quite massive.

It’s almost a small ocean of sorts placed inside glass for people to watch.

’Really unbailable, magic is really something. in my previous world, this would have been considered a miracle of engineering...’

Lia was happy and proud to see Rio take interest in the place and spoke in a smug voice,

"It was a good decision to come here, wasn’t it? Praise my thoughtfulness, hehe!"

Seeing that cute smug look on Lia’s face made Rio feel a sudden urge to squeeze her cheeks, and he didn’t stop himself from doing it.

"You really know how to make my heart stir, you... how are you so d*mn cute all the time..."

Rio went on to kiss Lia on the cheek, causing her to become shy and jab him lightly to express her complaints.

"Idiot, we are in public you know..."

Rio laughed a bit at her shy look and shook his head as he glanced at the silver shark that was lying on the very bottom of the water and wasn’t even moving.

The silver shark used its ability to manipulate water elementals to draw the food that was thrown in its large tank and ate it while lying down lazily.

"Err... how do I say... why does this thing reminds me a bit of Riya..."

Hearing Rio’s words, Lia giggled a bit and nodded her head lightly.

"Yeah, it’s so lazy and is eating its food just like Riya who is always lying flat and is munching candies and sweets all day long without bothering to move a single inch..."

(No Riya were harmed in the making of this Chapter...)

Lia grabbed Rio’s arm and brought out her phone to click a selfie with Rio while standing near the silver shark’s giant tank.

The two of them smiled happily while the giant silver shark munched on its food with a lazy look.

"I will show this photo to Riya... hehe, she will say ’I am not that fat!!’ hehe.."

Lia was really enjoying this; she was already planning on teasing her friend while showing off the fact that she went on an amazing date with Rio.

Rio and Lia then walked towards the next hall after taking a few more pictures.

The corridor leading to the next hall was just as beautiful and amazing as the previous one, and this time a massive hydra was carved on the ceiling.

Rio knew this one; this was the Hydra that King Allen killed during the thousand-year war to stop it from its mad rampage against the armies of the world alliance.

This hydra was a corrupted demonic beast that took the full effort of King Allen and his comrades to defeat; it was a legendary battle that students have to learn about in the school’s history books.

Even Rio has read about it in the books and was impressed by its power and capabilities.

While Rio was looking at the ceiling, Lia’s eyes shone as she noticed a small souvenir shop built in the corridor.

"Wow... they have so many cute things here..."

The shop was selling keychains, plushies, and even the toy swords and horns that those two kids that Rio saw earlier had.

Lia’s eyes fell on a plushie with a very familiar design.

The shopkeeper noticed her gaze and spoke in a proud tone.

"Lil miss, this is our newest product that came straight from the factory a few hours ago..."

"It’s a plushie based on the famous new hero who has brought hope to the nation in these dark times..."

Just like the shopkeeper said, there on the display was lying a plushie that resembled the hero ’The Rising Dark Star’ Rio Flash.

Seeing that adorable chubby-looking plushie of Rio, stars seemed to have appeared in Lia’s eyes and she spoke in an excited tone.

"I will buy the entire stock! No, I will buy the entire factory of this!!"

Rio, who was standing beside her, shook his head in helplessness.

"They are really quick at making things like these..."
