Flying forward at a slow but steady speed, Rio shook his head and spoke to himself once again.

"I must not do this in the outer world or I will creep out Lia..."

In a few more days, it would be three months since Rio entered the spirit realm.

He has been inside this hellhole-like place for so long that this dark and damp place has started to look quite nice to him now.

’I seriously shouldn’t stay here too long... I am actually starting to like this place from the bottom of my heart...’

Unlike the outside world, where Rio always has to restrict himself, always stay cautious, and has to face a lot of legal consequences for using miasma or doing anything out of line.

This place is a literal paradise for him.

He’s immune to miasma; he can stay here for as long as he wants, and the best part of it all is that he can train here endlessly!

He can continuously improve his skills and experiment with them without worrying about alerting the SS-rankers who are always keeping an eye on the world.

And he can even use the monsters around here as his test subjects with no one to stop him at all.

The spirit realm is a tailor-made training ground for Rio, almost as if it was meant to be for him in the first place!

’This place is really too good... but I can’t stay here... I have Lia waiting for me back home...’

The only reason why Rio is still able to resist the temptation of this amazing place and keep himself in control is because a particular golden-haired girl’s face keeps appearing in his mind.

’Sigh... even in this hell-hole, you are still able to keep me anchored to my humanity... you really are the greatest blessing of my life... Lia...’

If he never had Lia to support him, Rio would have no reason to return to the human empire; he could just abandon the world, abandon everything, and stay here in this land far away from everyone’s sight.

He could just stay far away from the shackles of the mortal world, train, and live happily here without interference from anyone or anything.

There would be no need to worry about the inevitable destruction of the planet, no need to care about the invasion of demons and powerful entities, and no need to worry about saving others either.

Rio can live here free of all worries and burdens.

Rio was taken aback by those sudden notifications and snapped out of his daze as happy look appeared on his face.

Staying alone in this dark and hellish place, Rio managed to understand how thin and weak the line between humanity and complete emotionlessness was.

He understood himself and his existence better and better as he got so much free time to contemplate about himself and everything around him.

’I guess this is the main reason why this place is called the ’Spirit Realm’, it’s the place where you can find any spirit you desire... even your own...’

Every awakener in the world wanted a better understanding and deeper connection with their ’Path.’

Rio discovered that if you can withstand the hardships of the spirit realm, this place is the best location in the entire world to improve your connection and understanding of your ’self’ and your ’path’ too.

’I can return to this place to train again in the future, but I can’t keep Lia waiting...’

Rio had thought of completing his entire mission in just one month and then returning home right away.

But the spirit realm was so wide and difficult to traverse that he kept running out of time often.

Although Rio was running out of time and he was worried about making Lia angry, he hadn’t wasted a single second inside the spirit realm.

He had gained so much from this three-month hellish mission that he could now confidently say that he was capable of wiping out nations in a single attack.

Although he still wasn’t capable of doing devastating damage like SS-rankers, Rio was slowly reaching their level one step at a time!

’The end of this mission is not too far away now either...’

The flow of miasma was so strong near him that Rio had to use his miasma control to divert the miasma around him to fly forward.

The density of miasma was so high that the ground below was covered in hundreds of meters of dense, solid miasma layer, and thick miasma rivers were in all directions.

Even the air was filled with dense miasmic fog, and it was constantly raining miasma from the sky.

It was one of the most extreme places Rio had ever seen in his life; the presence of miasma was so strong in this place that the space-time fabric was breaking apart everywhere.

Even the ’laws’ of the world were suppressed to the lowest levels possible, and the force trying to push Rio away was so strong that it seemed as if hundreds of tsunami waves were hitting him over and over, trying to blow him away.

There was no visibility ahead, but Rio didn’t waver for even a single second and kept moving forward with determination.

After coming so far there was no heading back, and Rio’s efforts didn’t go to waste.

The intense struggle against miasmic waves lasted several days, but Rio managed to reach the very core of it all.

In front of him were hundreds of thousands of spatial cracks spewing out tons of miasma in all directions, and they seemed to have made a gigantic barrier of cracks stopping anyone from approaching.

It was almost as if hundreds of wormholes had opened in that place and were directly pumping out liquid miasma from the sea of miasma itself!

And then that miasma would go on and spread in all directions, corrupting the entire spirit realm from inside!

’Is this what an entry gate to the Sea of Miasma looks like?’

Rio was sure this was the destination he was searching for, and this was likely the place that King Allen once used to find an entry to the Sea of Miasma.

It was the place that once became witness to the final gamble of the strongest being of this universe.
