Chapter 575: The Grand Seal Of The Final Gamble. Part-5.

Ellie retorted back at Rio’s words,

"I am not a faulty dragon! Also don’t call me that! Only Liam can call me that, you know!"

"I will complain to Lia the next time I meet her!"

Hearing that threat, Rio could only shake his head and sigh in helplessness as he walked over to her side.

"So... is this your real body... so... it turned out you were an older woman trapping a young boy like Liam in her plans..."

Ellie pouted after hearing those words and retorted immediately!

"I am not old, okay! In terms of human age, I am only in my early twenties right now!"

"Also, I never planned or trapped him; he actually liked that idiot girl Kira for most of the time, you know!..."

"Moreover, my summoned form is technically a completely different individual from me, as I am a spirit and the summoned form was indeed only sixteen in terms of human age..."

Rio rolled his eyes at her words.

"Don’t try to make excuses now; tell it all to police later when I hand you over to child safety officers..."

Seeing that Rio was not even listening to her explanation at all, she could only sigh in helplessness.

"Ugh, technically I can’t be considered a criminal, right... err... I-I think so..."

Ignoring Ellie’s ramblings, Rio looked in the direction of a giant hill far away in the distance.

Above that hill was a giant door so big that you could fit five dragon whelps inside it at the same time!

Just its width alone was so wide that you could fit a four-story building horizontally!

But the size of that door wasn’t what Rio was surprised about; he was shocked when he noticed hundreds of thousands of insanely powerful seals covering the entire door.

Rio could feel a very powerful ’Purification Magic’ enchantment carved out on that massive door and the entire hill around it.

It was so powerful that Rio could tell that even Riya’s purification magic seemed like a joke in front of it.

"So that is the door that leads to the sea of endless miasma... and the place where King Allen did his final gamble..."

Seeing that Rio was ignoring her, Ellie pouted and said,

"Is that useless door really that interesting? You should be more interested in paying attention to this beautiful lady’s words, you know. don’t forget that I am angry that you took so long to come here..."

Hearing Her words, Rio rolled his eyes as he replied,

"Beautiful lady? Where? I only see a thousand-year-old grandma here~"

After hearing those words, Ellie’s confidence deflated like a punctured balloon as she retorted,

"I am not that old! I am only sixteen in my heart, you know!"

"I am definitely going to complain to Lia about how you bullied me!"

Ignoring her complaints, Rio changed the topic and asked,

"Useless talk aside, what about that fool Liam? Where’s his soul?... I seriously expected to come inside this giant cage and find a rotting big dragon corpse with a floating soul beside it..."

"I had no idea I would end up in this strange place with all this greenery... what’s going on with this place..."

"There’s not a single speck of miasmic corruption here despite it being located right in the middle of a highly corrupted area...."

Right outside were hundreds of thousands of miasmic spatial cracks connected to the sea of miasma, spilling out massive amounts of liquid miasma, and even the ground was covered in thick layers of solid miasma crystals!

Yet right in the center of it all, there’s not a single bit of corruption present, almost as if this place has never been affected by any corruption or miasmic decay ever before!

"This is actually a small pocket space partially separated from the spirit realm..."

"Father once told me about its existence and told me that Astra, ’the greatest healer of all time,’ personally engraved a powerful purification magic here..."

Ellie barely calmed down her anger after being called an old hag as she provided an answer for Rio’s question.

"My father knew of the existence of this location... it was only just a few thousand kilometres away from the place from where the shadow dragon tribe existed..."

"Alas... no one can enter this place unless they are qualified to reach the close proximities of that giant door..."

The giant door was a gateway connected directly to the sea of miasma; if someone with bad intentions found it, it would be easy to use it to bring harm to the outside world.

"I think Astra and King Allen made it in such a manner that no one with the slightest bit of miasma in their body could ever even enter this purified pocket of space..."

Rio was surprised after hearing those words from Ellie and he asked with a look of confusion,

"Then how come you entered this place?... Didn’t you grow up inside the spirit realm?... you should be plenty corrupted to have not been allowed entry here..."

Ellie sighed at Rio’s words and replied,

"This is a ’Grand Seal of the Final Gamble’... the ’laws’ of the ’Death and Gamble’ have manifested in this place... No, I think they were forcefully manifested in this place by King Allen..."

"If you pay a big enough price and win the gamble of life and death... it’s possible to do a lot of things in this place..."

Hearing that was enough for Rio to understand what Ellie wanted to say, but he listened quietly.

"I was once driven out of my clan and chose to be driven out because of a lot of disagreements I had with them..."

"If I hadn’t found this place, I would have died of miasmic corruption and would have become a mindless puppet of miasma, just like many others had already become..."

"But I refused to accept such a fate for myself and decided to gamble my life in this place to find a shelter from miasma and corruption... in return, I sacrificed my ability to ever leave this place physically..."

Ellie got up from the ground and looked at the giant door far away in the distance.

"In return of safety, I merged my physical body and a part of my soul with that grand seal... this was my final gamble against my inevitable destiny..."

While standing, Ellie was much taller than Rio, but in terms of strength, she was far behind Rio.

Even after an entire millennium, she was still stuck on the peak of S-rank; she never managed to reach rank SS, as she was not talented enough and her physical body was in a place where even mana was suppressed to the extreme by miasma.

She could not ascend even if she had the talent, as miasma would not let her ascend in this place at all; she would need to be corrupted to reach rank SS, but she refused to do that.

"Thankfully though, that sacrifice is also the reason why I managed to keep Liam’s soul stable for so long..."

A smile that seemed to hide thousands of sufferings and hardships appeared on her face as she spoke those words.

Despite suffering herself, Ellie managed to keep the final hope for Liam alive till now.
