Chapter 613: Lia’s Adventure Begins! Part-2.
"Fighting a peak S-rank dragon... I haven’t done that before... I wonder what will it be like..."
[Don’t be silly, you can’t fight even an ordinary S-ranker with your current strength let alone a dragon...]
[If that stone-faced guy was with us, I wouldn’t be worried, but you are on your own right now; try not to be reckless...]
[There’s a difference between training and recklessly jumping straight towards your death...]
"Tch, you are no fun at all..."
[Divine Spirit’s Blessing: Spirit Ascension: Spirit Merge!]
While bickering with Kai, Lia donned her spirit armor and covered her entire body in powerful spirit magic, raising all of her resistances to the maximum.
With miasma in the air, Lia knew that she couldn’t be careless for even a single second; she had seen Rio use miasma from a close distance, and she knew that miasma is a very bizarre and unpredictable power.
It is the kind of power that you must never underestimate; thus, Lia immediately donned her armor and raised her miasma resistance to the maximum levels possible.
Her silver armor shone with the brightness of spirit magic, and her golden cape turned silver due to being covered in it as it flew with the air.
[Divine Spirit’s Blessing: Mana Flow Diversion!]
Using spirit magic, Lia first diverted the flow of mana around her in such a way that it would make it impossible for others’ mana detection to detect her presence.
[Divine Spirit’s Blessing: Nature Elemental Blend!]
Using the divine spirit’s blessing, Lia suppressed the elemental fluctuations in the environment around her so that no one could notice her from the elemental fluctuations that she made while using her powers.
[Divine Spirit’s Blessing: Enhanced Stealth!]
Using Divine Spirit blessing, Lia suppressed her mana fluctuations, her aura, and her presence as much as she could to prevent others from easily detecting her.
’I guess having an overly stealthy boyfriend ended up causing me to get influenced by him too...’
Lia had seen Rio use similar techniques to blend himself with the environment and become stealthy, and thus she made her own version of that using her spirit magic.
A divine spirit user can also be considered a weaker magician, as they can use all kinds of divine spirit blessings to technically achieve the same results that a magician would achieve with their magic.
And with an SS-rank divine spirit like Kai with her, Lia was capable of doing many things that even magicians couldn’t do.
"My prediction and premonition are currently not reacting to anything so I guess it would be fine to move forward now..."
While reducing her presence and entering stealth mode, Lia flew deeper inland.
While flying, she used spiritual sense to sense all the area around her as she bypassed it and kept scanning everything for some kind of clue.
As she flew at a constant speed, Lia noticed that the flow of miasma in a particular direction was denser, and she could even see flames and smoke rising from that direction.
’Is there a battle going on over there?’
[Fly low... hmm, no, better walk on the ground and check it out... I don’t sense any powerful presence nearby so this is an opportunity find clues...]
At Kai’s words, Lia nodded her head as she descended down on the ground and landed in the dense forest area.
The terrain was very uneven, but for an A-ranker, it wasn’t difficult to traverse through it.
"No insects and small animals in sight... a clear sign of a battle involving miasma taking place nearby..."
As small creatures like insects and ordinary animals are very vulnerable to miasmic corruption, once miasmic density in an area increases, they become extinct in that area.
Not finding a single small organism in an area is a clear indicator that either there’s a lot of miasma in the environment or a battle involving miasma has taken place nearby that killed every small organism.
After walking for a while, Lia arrived at a massive clearing in the forest, which seemed to be forcefully made due to battle, as she could see broken tree stumps and wood fragments scattered everywhere.
The ground was scorched black and had cracks everywhere like spiderwebs, and debris was everywhere.
But all that wasn’t the most eye-catching thing in that place.
What really shocked Lia was a pile of corpses stacked upon each other!
The smell of miasmic rot was spreading in all directions, and if Lia wasn’t wearing her spirit armor’s helmet, she might have fainted from this horrible smell.
The dead bodies consisted of various demon corpses and animal corpses, and there were even some humans there, but most surprising of all, there were even Elves among that pile of corpses.
[Three completely different races in a single place... this is very weird... what could have happened here I wonder...]
[Their body are so badly mangled and wounded and they are all highly corrupted...]
Looking at the wounds on the corpses, Lia’s eyes narrowed under the helmet as she analyzed.
"These seem like some kind of bird-type monster attacks... the monster punctured their body with its beak and then ripped their internal organs out with its beak..."
[What?... How do you know for sure? Even I can’t tell that just by looking at these wounds...]
Hearing Kai’s words, Lia shook her head and replied in her usual calm voice,
"I am not saying that I am hundred percent sure... it’s just that I have studied this kind of monster’s attacking abilities and characteristics before..."
"Moreover, only a monster would attack living humans, elves, and demons without caring about any morality or anything...."
"Some bird-type monsters have the habit of stacking up their food in one place before shifting them to other more secure locations..."
[So you are trying to say that... a powerful bird-type monster might come rushing here any moment and start attacking us if they saw us here...]
"Yeah, it’s possible... the monster might already be on its way here..."
Hearing the word "monster," the little golem sitting on Lia shoulder shivered, but Lia’s spirit magic calmed it down.
[Shall we leave then?]
"No... I want to see how powerful the regular monsters in this dungeon are... I will retreat if I can’t defeat it though..."
With a smile on her face, Lia unsheathed her sword and got ready for combat.
