Chapter 620: Types of Spirits In The Spirit Realm. (Skippable)

There are only three types of spirit beast in the spirit realm that can be summoned.

The first and most common ones are evil spirits.

Everyone knows that the spirit realm is filled to the brim with miasma, with most of its places heavily polluted with corruption and miasmic rot.

Any organism, be it monster or spirit, that lives there is a corrupted being, and these evil entities consist of the major population of the entire spirit realm.

Many of the evil spirits and monsters that Team Astra encountered inside the Spire of Ascension belonged to this group of spirits.

The main reason why being a ’Summoner’ type awakener is considered a major gamble in this world is also because it’s possible that you might end up summoning an evil entity that can cause trouble not only for yourself but for others too.

Oftentimes, many talented summoners end up summoning powerful monsters that end up going out of their control and refuse to sign contracts with them.

This is the main reason why summoners in this world have to conduct their summoning procedure under strict surveillance most of the time.

Ellie, who was summoned by Liam, was also a creature from this category, but she turned out to be mentally stable and not aggressive; otherwise, Liam would have likely died that day if it was some other shadow dragon that got summoned instead of her.

The second type of spirits are the ones that live in separated small pockets of the spirit realm that haven’t been corrupted and are considered normal spirits with no associations with evil forces of nature.

These are the spirits that have mostly been living in separate spirit realm pockets since ancient times and have been able to survive due to not coming in contact with miasma ever before.

Or they were rescued by King Allen and the great healer Astra and then placed in separate pockets of the spirit realm that were purified by Astra to help them survive.

Most summoners across the world summon and sign contracts with these types of spirits and use them in battle.

Liam’s wyvern and other summons belong to this category.

Aside from these two categories, there’s the third category that consists of spirits that are completely opposite in nature compared to the evil spirits of the spirit realm.

These kinds of spirits are capable of using powerful purification magic and are very rare and strong.

Most of them are at the demi-god realm, and they are considered natural enemies of the evil spirits and demons.

These kinds of spirits are called divine spirits!

Divine Spirit General, Kawaki is a powerful spirit demi-god that falls in this category of spirits, and as a demi-god, obviously he has his own ’World Authority.’

After living for thousands of years, it’s impossible to have weak control over your world authority.

Even a mindless pig can become strong enough to shatter planets after living so long with immense power and opportunities at its disposal, let alone a smart and cunning divine spirit like Kai.

Although Kai cannot manifest or properly use his ’World Authority’ because of Lia being too weak as a host, he’s still able to put a small bit of influence on the ’Law’ of the ’World’ that is closely associated with his ’World Authority.’

And that ’Law’ is the ’Law’ of ’Cosmic Order and Judgement’; this is the ’Law’ of the world that focuses on maintaining cosmic order and passes heavy penalty against evil entities in the world in the form of heavenly punishment!

This is the same ’law’ that once manifested in King Alex’s sword and helped him fight powerful beings till the very end in the form of the ’Sword of Cosmic Order, Raksha.’

Spirits like Kai are all very powerful, but they are the smallest group of the population among the spirits of this world.

The evil spirits are the most numerous, followed by the normal spirits and then the divine spirits.

With evil spirits controlling nearly all of the entire spirit realm, it’s entirely possible for summoners to end up summoning uncontrollable, mindless evil entities most of the time.

Their probability of summoning a normal spirit is already below one percent, let alone a divine spirit.

This is the main reason why being a summoner in this world is a very high-risk job; you never know what kind of being you might end up unleashing upon the world out of nowhere.

Liam wasn’t even awakened when he summoned a peak S-rank shadow dragon!

A peak S-rank dragon is strong enough to fight dozens of ordinary S-rankers on his own, as dragons are naturally much stronger than other ordinary creatures and have higher intelligence and elemental affinity compared to most creatures in the world!
