Nova was angry that dozens of those brats went outside without permission and ended up dying.

Nova didn’t even let the two make excuses; she just tied them up to punish them and stopped listening to them.

Lyria and Miria blinked at Lia several times to signal her to help them, but Lia couldn’t bring herself to move and do anything, as she had no right to interfere with an elder correcting their young one’s mistakes.

"Binding them like that is a more cruel punishment than killing them, right?"

Fairies were unlike every other creature in the world.

They had no concept of family or such responsibilities; even their social life was just interacting with a few fairies only once in a while at most.

For most of their time, fairies spent their days wandering and enjoying their freedom.

Being bound to one place was like torture to these curious and exploration-loving creatures.

"That’s exactly why I am punishing them like that! These two brats need to understand the consequences of their actions so they won’t do something like that in the future again!"

"Demons and powerful humans are wandering outside the barrier, hunting for us fragile beings constantly! These two fellows don’t even seem to have comprehended that their friends have died horribly..."

In the past few minutes, Nova not only bound them but also interrogated them about what had happened after they went missing.

Nova massaged her temples as she spoke.

"Sigh... these two are too young and don’t understand things for now... but when they get old... they will come to regret this moment of not feeling anything for their dead friends..."

Lia felt really confused after hearing those words but before she could ask, Kai explained,

[As I told you earlier, fairies don’t have the concept of age... they are already born as adults, but of course this method has drawbacks...]

[Newly born fairies have adult bodies but their minds are like children, immature and unable to understand the world properly... these two twins are likely recently born ’Kids’ in fairy terms...]

Just like a small immature human kid is unable to understand anything if a crime happens in front of it, the same was true for these little fairies.

They were only able to understand the demon was attacking them and they had to safeguard themselves, but they had no understanding of the entire situation as a whole.

Hearing Lia’s words, Nova and the little girl Bela, who had been sitting silently on the bench nearby until now, both opened their eyes wide in shock.
