Chapter 672: What!?

Chapter 672: What!?

"So that little girl named Bela is actually the future goddess of protection and cure Astra?"

"No wonder she seemed extraordinary to me..."

Rio looked at Bela, who was playing with the little golem and the two little fairies that had woken up from their coma right after Lia, with a look of understanding.

"To think that this dungeon was actually involved with such legendary figures of the past..."

Rio felt quite odd knowing about all of these events, as he had never heard anything about this from the novel.

There was no mention of this dungeon, and there was no mention of Lia ever inheriting Astra’s knowledge.

’Is it again due to my own butterfly effect?’

"Well, at least you managed to get some good things out of the entire hurdle..."

Lia nodded her head at Rio’s words as she smiled and spoke.

"Yeah, after becoming an S-ranker and getting all this experience I can finally say that I have some decent ability to protect myself now..."

"The difference between an A-ranker and an S-ranker is really too big... it’s almost a completely different level of existence..."

"Makes me realize how weird we from Team Astra are... we were all able to deal with S-rankers even before becoming one..."

Even Riya, who was the weakest in terms of combat ability, was able to hold her ground against Alverto despite not even being an S-ranker at the time.

This clearly showed that not a single member of Team Astra was simple, and each and every one of them was a monster in their own way.

"With my newly enhanced abilities I can predict almost everything... but I can’t be arrogant; after all, there’s literally one person sitting by my side whom I still can’t predict..."

Lia looked at Rio with a look of unconcealed curiosity.

After having her talent upgraded, she could now peek into the strings of destiny attached to every being around her and could predict their future easily.

But to her surprise, despite being in the same realm as Rio and despite having such powerful ability, she still can’t predict Rio at all!

She could easily see even Kai’s future despite him being an SS-ranker! But her skill didn’t seem to work on Rio at all!

’Well, I can only see Kai’s future for upto one hour forward in time and even that is only because he’s deeply connected with my soul and doesn’t have many defenses against me...’

’If it was any other SS-ranker, the prediction would be more difficult... but I can improve it as I get stronger... the only anomaly in this is Rio!’

’My skill doesn’t even activate when I try to look into his future! How weird...’

Seeing Lia stare at him curiously with her big watery eyes, Rio pinched her adorable cheeks as he spoke with a small smile on his face.

"Don’t try to use this unconventional skill on me; I have made sure to take precautionary measures against them beforehand..."

"I have a skill that can block these kinds of unconventional things..."

Lia didn’t feel annoyed at Rio’s hands caressing her face; instead, she felt quite happy and willingly leaned closer to him instead.

"Is it the one that helped you avoid making a sacrifice back in that Maya dungeon when you picked up that soul orb?"

"You have quite a powerful skills set, don’t you? I feel jealous..."

Rio nodded his head at Lia’s words and replied,

"My skills are incredible indeed, but yours are not bad either; you have awakened a skill that only one person in the entire universe had in the past..."

"You have no need to feel jealous of me; my everything belongs to you anyways... what’s mine is yours too you know~"

Lia rolled her eyes as she replied,

"Why do I feel that you have become better at flirting now? Were you practicing your flirting skills on your mission to the spirit realm?"

Rio shrugged his shoulders at her words as he spoke.

"Well, I was travelling in pitch-black darkness for weeks and weeks; there was nothing else to do besides think about various things in my mind and plan out different ways to tease you..."

"But my adventure is really nothing as fascinating as yours... you actually met one of the strongest people in the universe and learned her entire skill set!!"

"I will need to train more in the future or you will become stronger than me! If that happened, I will lose my ability to easily run away after teasing you a lot..."

Lia pushed away Rio’s fingers pinching her cheeks as a form of protest after hearing those words from his mouth as she said,

"Hmph! Just you wait! The day will come when this young lady will make you beg for mercy!"

Just when the couple was busy flirting with each other, Kai and James, who had gone to scout the area, returned.

"No wonder this dungeon is still not closing; it seems that Rahn was likely not the final boss of this dungeon at all..."

Kai looked at Lia before saying,

"I sensed a powerful fluctuation from the southern direction... I guess that’s likely where the boss monster is... unless we defeat it, we might not be able to return so easily..."

Hearing Kai’s words, Rio tilted his head slightly and said,

"Err.. Actually... I can smash a hole in the space-time fabric of this dungeon and we can all exit..."

"But that would mean abandoning the dungeon-clearing task midway... What do you want to do, Lia?"

It was Lia’s training trail, and she had just reached rank S; it was the best time for her to try out her new powers, so Rio didn’t rush forward to do anything at the moment but instead asked her opinion.

He had come here just to make sure Lia’s life wouldn’t be in danger; interfering with Lia’s training was not his intention at all.

"Of course, I will go and fight it head on!! I am now an S-ranker! Unless it’s an SS-ranker, I have nothing to fear about anymore!!"

Seeing the cute excited look on her face, Rio felt happy that he came back from his mission as fast as possible.

The months of stress and depression that he had accumulated in the spirit realm were easily erased by spending a little bit of time with Lia.

"Let’s go, let’s change history and make sure that this time demons can’t make fairyland into their own continent!"

Hearing Rio’s words, everyone smiled and jumped up in happiness, and Lia became confused.

"Wait... what do fairyland and the demon continent have to do with each other?"

Rio titled his head in confusion at Lia’s words and replied in a confused voice,

"Eh? You didn’t know that today’s demon continent is the so-called ’fairyland’ of the past, where all fairies used to live?"

"This place, Kenorland, is part of the ’Forbidden Edge’ area of the demon continent today..."

Hearing Rio’s words, Lia almost felt like an atom bomb had exploded in her mind!

She really had no idea that the so-called Fairyland is actually the same place where all demons reside today!

"No wonder I kept feeling something was off every time Astra mentioned that after escaping from the human empire her boat went southwards!"

"There’s obviously only one continent located at the southernmost pole of the world! That’s the demon continent!"
