At those rude words, Liam just yawned loudly as he stretched his body and ignored the frustrated look on Neo’s face.

Hearing Liam’s words, Neo’s face became red from anger, and he stood up and tried to punch Liam in sheer rage, but to his dismay, his body couldn’t move and froze on the spot.

Seeing this, Liam shook his head in disappointment as he got up from his seat and looked straight into Neo’s rage-filled eyes before speaking.

"This weak, pathetic lingering self of yours is nothing special anymore... inside this place, you are at my mercy Neo Aldif, so it would be better if you don’t anger me more than you have already have..."

Liam sealed off Neo’s mouth and didn’t even let him speak anymore.

He walked in the opposite direction that Neo was facing as he spoke in a calm voice.

"Neo Aldif, I will always feel regret that I couldn’t be the one that managed to kill you and torture you for what you have made me go through..."

"I will always regret that I couldn’t make you suffer just like you made others... but I will always be happy that I will never be a tool for you..."

Liam looked at the distant horizon where the sun was starting to rise on this darkness-shrouded realm of consciousness.

That rising sun was a sign that his friends had succeeded and he would be able to rise back to life once again just like that rising sun.

"Because of you, I suffered and after disappeared, Ellie must have suffered too... I will never forgive you for what you have done..."

"It’s a pity that torturing this pathetic self of yours is pointless, as it’s just a mere remnant will; otherwise, I would have patiently made you understand all the pain I had endured..."

Liam calmed down his anger as he looked at the receding darkness, and a smile appeared on his face.

"Although... I didn’t manage to deal with you myself, I am happy that at least you got what you deserved..."

Liam did not even let Neo talk until the end and watched him disappear completely into nothingness with a happy smile on his face.

The long night that had shrouded Liam’s soul finally came to an end as a new sun rose through the sky!
