Chapter 709: Jin X Anna, A New Begining.
As the main wedding rituals were completed, Jin and Anna were recognized as married from that moment onwards, and all the guests started bringing out their own wedding gifts for the newly married couple.
Weddings in the human empire nowadays follow various different norms and cultural practices, but giving wedding gifts to the newly married couple is always the same in most weddings.
These are not just random gifts but a form of blessing from the guests and the close acquaintances of the bride and groom to the newly married couple!
Dozens of tables were arranged near the main wedding stage of the hall, but due to the fact that hundreds of extra people came to attend Jin and Anna’s wedding, even those tables became insufficient as hundreds of gifts piled up!
Jin was a national hero and a person who had helped save the world; it was natural for him to be insanely popular, and thus everyone was eager to give their blessings and gifts to the couple!
Even Rio and Lia had prepared a gift, which was a small hand-sized sculpture of Jin and Anna that Rio, Lia, and Lia’s father James had crafted together!
The material for this unique sculpture was a metal that Rio brought from his expedition to the spirit realm.
And as there’s barely anyone in this world who can survive a trip to the spirit realm, the price of this metal alone was incalculable!
Thus, a sculpture made from this metal was definitely a priceless item.
But of course, Rio, Lia, and James, all three, had put an effort into making that sculpture, and that meant that the sculpture was more of a blessing to the newly married couple than an item that could be measured with a price tag.
"Professor Jin, Professor Anna, thank you for all you have done for us; even though we are both already graduated and adults, we will still look up to you both for a long time to come..."
"Thanks for teaching us and showing us the way forward... we will both always be indebted to you..."
Rio and Lia both bowed slightly to the two professors.
Anna was not an exceptional person, but she was definitely a benefactor for both of them.
Anna saved both of their lives during the ’Roult Island’ incident when that named monster octopus attacked their ship, and she almost sacrificed her life to save her students during the ’Lava Lake Dungeon’ incident.
The ’Roult Island’ incident even laid the foundation for Rio and Lia to go on to eventually become a couple, so it was definitely a major life-changing event for them both.
Although Anna was not as famous as Jin, for Rio and Lia she was definitely just as important a person as Jin was.
"You two have grown up to be new pillars of support for this nation; whenever I look at news and see you two being mentioned, my chest fills with pride..."
"Thank you, both of you for making me so proud and happy..."
Anna patted Rio and Lia, both on the head, as her way of showing acknowledgement for the two of them.
Jin also nodded at Rio and Lia while saying with a smile,
"We have both lived a pretty rough life and have even participated in wars and dangerous situations; it’s about time we retire and settle down..."
"But you two have a bright future ahead of you; I am quite sure that both of you will most definitely be among the next generation of SS-rankers of our nation. As a teacher, I am very proud of you both, thanks..."
"With children like you becoming the new pillars of support for this nation, I won’t have to feel conflicted for losing my strength and not being able to serve the nation at my full capacity anymore..."
Jin had sacrificed too much in his fight against Alverto; him being able to live normally and walk on his own feet again was already a pretty good outcome.
"It’s already at this point, and you are still worrying about serving the nation. I guess you are just as much of workaholic as me, haha..."
Ashtel’s voice brightened up the mood once again as he brought Riya and Link with him.
"I know that you two are very stubborn people, and won’t take the pension plan that the government gives to most old or disabled awakeners that can’t fight anymore..."
"So I have prepared a better gift for you both!"
With a smile on his face, Ashtel walked over and handed over a certificate to the newly married couple as he spoke happily.
"You both are veterans who survived wars and dangerous situations; letting your talents go to waste is not optimal, so by my authority as the head of the awakener’s association of this nation..."
"I hereby announce that you both will be appointed new instructors at the awakener’s association headquarters and will train and guide new graduates and awakeners of the academy from now on!"
Hearing those words, a beaming smile appeared on both Jin’s and Anna’s faces!
"This is great news! Thanks!"
Jin was so excited at that news that he straight up rushed forward and hugged Ashtel to express his thanks!
As Jin and Anna were both retired veterans from the army, staying at home all day long and not doing any work while waiting for monthly pensions to come to their accounts on their own did not suit them at all.
They did want to spend a lot of time with each other from now on, but that didn’t mean that they could just completely seclude themselves from the world, as that would just make them both feel depressed and unmotivated as time passes.
At least doing something for the sake of the nation will justify the free money they would earn and bring them peace of mind.
The opportunity was a much-needed and a very precious gift for the two of them, and they both thanked Ashtel for it.
"Actually, it was Link and Riya who suggested this to me and came up with the idea..."
Hearing this, Jin and Anna thank Link and Riya too.
After Ashtel and the group, many others came; even Liam and Ellie were present at the wedding ceremony, and Liam even gave his cookie-making recipes to Jin as a gift.
Jin was looking for new ways to impress his wife, and Liam’s gift brought him a new idea and opportunity!
The wedding went on smoothly, and everyone partied and enjoyed the happy atmosphere until early in the morning before finally heading back home to rest.
After the wedding ceremony came to an end, Jin and Anna cut the ribbon of their new home, which was a gift from Raji, and as it was located close to the awakener’s association headquarters, it was close to their job site!
In the future, the couple could live here, go to their jobs together, and spend quality time by using the money they earn from their jobs to go on vacations!
"Shall we go inside our new house, Mrs. Walt?"
Hearing Jin’s words, a smile appeared on Anna’s face as she looked at her new house and leaned against Jin’s arm.
"You know... when that Chronos incident happened... I almost thought you were gone forever..."
"But look at us now... we have now entered a new phase of life... It’s almost like a dream has come true and I am afraid that this happy dream will come to an end-"
Before Anna could finish her words, Jin placed his hand around her shoulder as he hugged Anna in his big muscular arms.
"This is not a dream; we have made our goals come true in reality! And this happiness, this joy, will only increase from now on..."
Jin lifted Anna’s chin slightly and stared into her eyes as he spoke.
"As a married couple, we might have to face many choices and difficulties in the future; we might end up arguing over silly things like all married couples do..."
"But don’t forget, I am the same man who chased you for decades just to get you to agree to my proposal..."
"I am an expert at understanding your mood swings and am fully capable of appeasing a sulky you as many times as you want, so, I am quite sure our marriage will work out, hehe~"
Hearing Jin’s words, Anna rolled her eyes and protested weakly.
"I am not even that moody you know; you are just exaggerating... well, I would try to keep my mood swings calm just for you from now on... whenever we have an argument, let’s talk things out properly from now on..."
"After all, I don’t want to lose my world-saving hero husband to some petty arguments..."
Jin smiled at those words, and he suddenly remembered something and spoke.
"By the way, you really took an advantage of me being off-guard during the wedding ceremony and kissed me to your heart’s content..."
"I must take revenge for that-"
Before Jin could finish his words, Anna pushed his away slightly as she trotted inside the home, saying,
"You can take revenge if you can catch me, and too bad for you, this lady isn’t so easy to catch~"
Seeing that mischievous look on Anna’s face, Jin smiled as he entered the new house to chase her.
"Don’t forget, I am the same man who spent decades to catch your heart. You are underestimating me if you think I will not be able to catch you now!"
With energetic and happy smiles on their faces, the couple entered a new Chapter of their life; it was the beginning of a new journey for them.
The dark gloomy days were now a thing of the past; a beautiful new life and a bright future awaited the couple from now on.
