Chapter 724: Pleased to see you again... Part-2.

"Yo! You guys are back! See this! Isn’t this stuffed plush toy majestic!"

Link puffed up his chest in pride as he showed off the massive stuffed bear that he had won from the arm-wrestling contest.

Seeing the plush toy, Riya’s eyes shined brightly as she rushed over to hug it immediately!

Ignoring the excited Riya, Rio patted Link on the shoulder and shook his head in disappointment.

"To think you, an S-rank awakener with a powerful legendary skill would stoop so low as to compete with ordinary people in an arm-wrestling match just for a plush toy..."

"You have brought great disappointment to the name of the Rex family..."

Hearing Rio’s words, Link knew that Rio was messing around with him deliberately, and he immediately rolled his eyes while shrugging his shoulders.

"No way, I didn’t use any mana or skills at all; it was a fair hand-to-hand competition. Just because I am naturally stronger than others doesn’t mean I cheated..."

Link glanced at the smiling Riya and spoke in a calm voice without hesitation.

"As long as she’s happy, I don’t mind doing bad things for her, even if I have to cheat in some competitions..."

Link shook his head as he decided to change the topic.

"Forget about me. What were you guys doing? I almost died of boredom waiting for you..."

"By the way, you should have stayed with me on Island Dreamer Rio; the various training facilities in this nation are really unique in their own way..."

"Also, they had this unique potion that helps them stimulate their beastfolk bloodline and increases their physical stats a lot with minimal side effects..."

Rio shook his head at those words.

"No way, we didn’t come here to train, you know; we came here to enjoy a vacation... and even if I want to train myself, I don’t dare to neglect the feelings of my cute girlfriend at all..."

Riya was different; she didn’t mind hanging around with Link anywhere, even if it was a gym filled with sweaty men training like crazy.

It was her choice to accompany Link no matter where he went, but Rio didn’t want that for Lia.

Lia had her own different thoughts and things she liked; Rio preferred to do things that she liked, as he himself was just a bland guy with nothing interesting going on in his life at all.

"Oh, here, take this; we bought these souvenirs for you guys when we were on other islands..."

Lia handed Link, Riya, and Miki their respective souvenirs, causing all of them to be surprised and delighted.

"Talking about souvenirs, I bought something too..."

With an excited look, Link brought out a shady-looking potion from his space ring and showed it to Rio.

"See, this is that potion they take to go berserk in the dog tribe... I actually had the chance of drinking one when I was visiting their facilities, and I must say this thing does taste decently good..."

"But it’s not really as effective on humans as it is on the beast folk... I only felt a little bit of a physical stat spike before the potion lost its effect..."

"Would you like to taste it too?"

Hearing that question, Rio gave a blatantly disgusted look as he pushed the hand holding the potion away from him.

"It obviously looks shady; who the heck in their right mind would drink something like this..."

"And everyone knows that your physique is overwhelmingly strong; these kinds of low-grade state enhancers will obviously not work on you!"

"I feel like you got scammed by someone into buying this..."

While the group chatted about random things, Miki handed over the various snacks she had bought for everyone, and the group started to head towards a secret location that Miki suggested.

"There’s this small plaza near located behind a shrine atop this hill... from there, you can clearly see the fireworks go off, and there are barely any people there, as only a few people know of that secret spot..."

As the group climbed the hundreds of stairs leading straight to the top of the hill, Miki excitedly explained various things to everyone as if she were the group’s tour guide.

Link, who wasn’t even listening to it at all, looked at the hundreds of stairs and spoke,

"There are so many stairs here; who even made this place... Thankfully we have storage rings to place our items in, or we would have had to carry that big plush toy with us..."

Ignoring Link’s random chit-chat, Rio suddenly asked,

"Has Uncle Ashtel contacted you in the past few days about anything?"

Link was a little surprised that Rio had also started to refer to Ashtel as ’Uncle’ like everyone else, but he didn’t mind it too much, as Ashtel was often very supportive of Rio too.

"Nah, he must be too busy drinking with his new buddies to contact us little fellows..."

"I did hear that the Elf king had arrived yesterday, and as the two of them are close friends, he must be enjoying himself with the Elf king somewhere..."

"I wonder if the elf king brought his children with him though... It’s been so long since we last met them..."

Hearing Link’s words, Rio asked in his usual emotionless tone,

"The elven princess did seem to have taken a liking to you; if she comes, she might challenge you to a duel again..."

"Last time you beat her too thoroughly, she might seek revenge, perhaps..."

At those words, Link just smirked and replied calmly,

"Hah, who cares? I am not afraid of anyone! I would beat her senseless again if she dared to conspire against the great almighty Link Rex!"

Rio rolled his eyes at those words as he immediately shouted to Riya, who was busy chatting with Lia.

"Hey! Riya! Link said he’s not afraid of you getting angry at him!"

A confused look appeared on Riya’s face, and before she could say anything, Link hurriedly put his hand on Rio’s mouth to shut him up as he shouted at Riya in a loud voice.

"He’s spouting bullsh*t! Don’t listen to this idiot!"
