Chapter 744: You can change this world, Rio! Part-2.
Hearing Rio’s words, Raika sighed, waved his hand, and changed the scenery of the realm.
As if time had started to flow in reverse, the broken planet started to repair itself, and all the broken debris that had been flung into space was pulled back.
Like a video playing in reverse, the planet repaired itself completely as water and plants returned to the barren planet, and a prosperous civilization that seemed to be flourishing peacefully appeared on it.
If Ashtel and Riku were here, they would have immediately realized what civilization this was after seeing the people of this civilization.
"This is planet ’Nebo,’ home to the peace-loving people of the ’Nebo’ civilization..."
"As you can see, these people looked almost identical to humans; they just had four arms and a unique bloodline that could let them see the future to some extent!"
With a smile on his face, Raika changed the scene again.
Now Rio and Raika were standing atop an ancient temple overlooking the entire prosperous city below.
Children were playing in the streets, adults were busy with their work, and the elderly were busy praying or knitting clothes for their grandchildren.
There was abundant food, there were abundant resources, and there were no such problems as unemployment, world hunger, poverty, crimes, and diseases.
The Nebo civilization was a perfect utopia that every being in the universe dreamt of.
"The Nebo civilization had been blessed by the ’Heavenly Will’ and the ’Law’ of ’Cosmic Order’! They had everything they could ever hope for, and they were living a peaceful life that others could only dream of!"
Although the Nebo civilization existed in a time when mana and miasma did not exist in the universe, the universe still had a basic ’Heavenly Will’ of its own even back then, and the ’Laws’ of the universe had existed since the beginning of time.
Thus, it wasn’t strange that some supernaturally gifted beings indeed existed in the universe, despite there being no mana or miasma to act as an energy source for these supernatural powers.
"The Nebo civilization, gifted with their extraordinary talent, soon attained mastery in crafting artifacts that were blessed with the power of the heavenly will and the ’law’ of ’cosmic order’!"
The scene changed as Rio and Raika appeared in an underground factory where hundreds of people were working on a single artifact.
The artifact looked so familiar that Rio just couldn’t ignore it, and his only open eye widened in shock!
"This is... The Fountain of Elemental Life!? It was created on Planet Nebo!?"
At Rio’s shocked expression, Raika smiled and nodded his head.
"All the ’Mythical’ artifacts that were created before the time of mana and miasma were created on Planet Nebo by the Nebo Civilization..."
"Many of such artifacts were sacrificed to the ’World’ and ’Heavenly Will’ to show faith in the universe by the Nebo Civilization... Fountain of Elemental Life was one such mythical artifact..."
"The ’World’ granted the sacrificed artifact to the fairy race later on, and the same happened with other mythical artifacts too..."
The scene shifted once again as Rio and Raika suddenly appeared inside a laboratory located on a secluded mountaintop.
In the central area of the lab hung a huge glass capsule filled with a transparent liquid inside it, and a ’seed’ glowing with a dense green aura was floating in the liquid at the center of the glass capsule.
Looking at the scientists of the Nebo Civilization taking all sorts of measurements and running around frantically to work faster, Raika smiled and spoke.
"Where do you think the Elven race, which only used to be a primitive civilization before mana descent, got their greatest mythical guardian, ’The World Tree’?"
"Yes! The world tree was created by the Nebo Civilization in this very lab before the mana descent even began!"
"Later the ’World’ granted this seed to the Elf civilization just when mana descent was about to happen soon; if not for the World Tree, the elven race would have gone extinct from the universe long ago!"
The more Rio listened, the more shocked he became!
The original novel was just a power-battle slop created just to glorify Fade.
It barely ever focused on side character development and never showed much lore related to the world at all.
Thus, even Rio had no idea about the history of this universe in too much detail, and he certainly had no idea about the events that happened before mana descent!
There was no mention of the ’Nebo Civilization’; in fact, Rio hadn’t even seen the word ’Nebo’ much in the original novel except for when it was used for the ’Demon King,’ whose real name was ’Nebo Dahaka’!
’Who could have thought that a single extinct civilization had a hand in the creation of almost all mythical artifacts...’
’This civilization must have been insanely powerful in its peak...’
Noticing the surprised look on Rio’s face that usually remained expressionless most of the time, Raika felt satisfied as he changed the scene again.
This time, Rio and Raika both appeared inside a massive forge located near one of the five suns of Planet Cyria-229.
Hundreds of dwarfs and hundreds of four-armed people from the ’Nebo’ civilization could be seen working together in the forge, and a mythical artifact in the shape of a crown was being perfected inside the forge.
Rio immediately realized what that artifact was, as a similar one was still floating above his head right now while emitting an intense purplish aura.
"The Crown of Infinite Realms... I see, so it was a creation of the Nebo Civilization and the Dwarf Civilization and was created in the famous ancient forge of the dwarven planet Cyria-229..."
Raika nodded his head at Rio’s words and spoke,
"Indeed! Do you understand how crucial the Nebo civilization was in forming the foundation for all civilization in this universe now?"
Upon hearing that question, Rio frowned slightly and responded in his usual emotionless voice,
"I understand that it was a successful race that dominated the universe with its amazing abilities, but what does that have anything to do with your real motives?"
"Tell me your real motives, Raika; I do not like repeating myself over and over."
For some reason, although Raika had done nothing out of the ordinary, Rio felt repulsed and irritated by just the presence of this fellow.
