Chapter 745: You can change this world, Rio! Part-3.

Hearing Rio’s words, Raika shifted the scene back to the shattered planet of the Nebo Civilization and spoke in a solemn voice.

"The ultimate reason why the Nebo Civilization, which was so powerful and prosperous during its time, collapsed because of the ’Mana Descent’ Incident!"

As if playing a video, Raika’s realm started to show exactly what had happened.

One moment people were living their lives peacefully, and then suddenly there was a strange ripple in the fabric of reality, changing the underlying rules of the entire universe!

Chaos ensued, and unfortunately for the Nebo civilization, their planet could not adapt to the sudden change in the very ’laws’ of the ’world.’

Their planet was simply too intertwined with the old rules of the universe because of being blessed by them often! A sudden change in those rules brought massive calamity to their world.

The planet was ruptured and shattered into pieces; hundreds of millions of innocent people were wiped out instantly.

No one could have predicted such a calamity, not even the Nebo Civilization, which had mastered the ability to see the future, as the very ’laws’ they used to predict the future had changed.

"Humans got acknowledged by mana and earned the qualifications to become awakeners because ’Astra’ was born and forced the ’law’ of mana to acknowledge her talent..."

"Thus, in turn, making humans compatible with mana and causing them to gain the power of awakening..."

"But not all races were that lucky..."

"Races that could not make mana acknowledge them either died off from mana poisoning or became extinct because they couldn’t keep up with the changing times..."

Mana poisoning was a phenomenon in which a person incompatible with mana got forcefully injected with mana in their body and died from having their DNA completely destroyed from inside out.

Nowadays, even ordinary people and inanimate objects in the world have trace amounts of mana inside them, so the ’mana poisoning’ disease has already become extinct.

But during the time when mana descent had just happened only recently and humanity hadn’t yet been acknowledged by mana, thousands of people died from mana poisoning.

For people incompatible with mana, this bizarre new power’s danger was similar to ’radiation poisoning’ but on steroids!

"Nebo civilization was unfortunately too deeply connected with the older rules of the universe to be able to adapt and be compatible with the new powers like mana and miasma..."

"Thus, just like any other civilization, it met a dreadful end... its people blew apart and exploded from mana overdose and conflicting ’laws’ of reality going haywire in their body..."

"Their deaths were tragic and cruel..."

Raika glanced into Rio’s eyes and spoke in a calm voice.

"I was a revered saint of the Nebo Civilization; people believed in my ability to see the future accurately, and they all thought that as long as I was there, nothing would go wrong and their civilization would prosper..."

"But life is unpredictable... I watched the people that I once promised to protect and lead die horrible deaths right in front of me..."

"I just stood there, helpless to do anything for them when they brought their dying children to me to heal and save; I just stood there, helpless as I watched children whose parents had exploded into meat paste right in front of them..."

"I stood there, helpless to do anything when parents watched their innocent children rot into abstract figures right in their arms..."

Raika showed all of his memories to Rio through his realm, and his realm was so accurate that Rio could see all that had happened on Planet Nebo in extreme detail.

Seeing the horrific massacre that had happened to the Nebo civilization just because they weren’t compatible with mana and were doomed to not survive in the newly evolved world made even Rio frown a bit.

Although Rio could not feel anything properly, he thought that it was a pity that such a talented race was wiped out so cruelly and never got the chance to show its talents to the rest of the world.

’If there were people from the Nebo race on our planet... it might be possible to predict where dungeon outbreaks were going to happen in the near future beforehand, thus averting most of the disasters...’

It was a pity that such a thing could not be turned into reality.

"So, you want to revive your race; is that your true goal?"

At Rio’s question, Raika shook his head.

"No. I would like to revive them, but my people are incompatible with mana and miasma; they are incompatible with the new rules of this world..."

"Even if I found a way to revive the civilization, it would only bring the same chaos back to them once again...."

"So, my goal is much bigger than that..."

Raika widened his arms as he looked into Rio’s eyes and made the scenery of the realm turn into the vast cosmos.

"All creatures in the universe are either suffering from mana and miasma’s interference or are already extinct by now..."

"Mana and Miasma are foreign ’powers’ that have forcefully invaded our world, Rio, and they have only brought death and destruction upon us..."

As Raika spoke, his voice became solemn.

"Look at the sea of miasma; it’s been destroying everything in its path since the very beginning, and don’t think mana is a gentle, innocent power..."

"Just like my Nebo Civilization, it has also wiped out millions of other civilizations that would have originally lived peacefully and prospered normally on their own..."

"Just look at your planet. Humans were supposed to be the master of their planet and solar system, but now they are forced to share the resources with hundreds of other races and are being harassed by demons every few centuries!"

In a deep voice, Raika told Rio about his greatest ambition.

"If we eradicate mana and miasma from our universe, we can revert our universe back to the peaceful state it once used to be in!"

"The sea of miasma will cease to exist; the terror of dungeon outbreaks happening all the time will cease to exist; the possibility of overwhelming power falling into the hands of wrong people will cease to exist..."

"Moreover, the cancer of the universe, the demon race, will also cease to exist!"

"And there’s only one person who can do this, and that’s you, Rio!"
