Chapter 772: The Negotiation. Part-3.

"Thank you; I appreciate that you have decided to let Alverto’s soul rest in peace."

"The main reason why I was able to gain my lost sentience again was also because of Alverto’s hard work."

"Aside from saving Aurora, he used some seconds to purify my mind too... due to that, I have managed to suppress the control of the sea of miasma over myself to some extent..."

The demon king took another sip of the tea, looked at Rio with a calm expression on his scary face, and spoke.

"I might lose myself to the sea of miasma sooner or later one day again, but I believe that things would change completely as you would have made your final ’choice’ by then..."

"I do look forward to that day, but I am quite sure that I won’t be there to see that day myself so I hope that at least some demons would survive, will be purified of sin and will be able to see a new dawn someday..."

Rio sighed after hearing those words.

"You have put me in a difficult spot. Well, let me visit the demon nation first; I will think about everything else later on."

"By the way, you have to compensate me for the fact that you completely ruined the fun vacation I was having with my wife earlier."

At those words, the Demon King gave a wry smile, took out a dagger placed inside a box made out of highly corrupted metal, and placed it on the table in front of Rio.

"The Dagger of Inhuman Torture... this is one of the most coveted artifacts that all assassins in the world dream of. Even your father wanted to find it."

"I recall that you have a taste for torturing your victims, and you can even control miasma. You are more worthy of this than me or any other demon."

Rio’s eyes shone brightly as he took the dagger without hesitation.

The dagger’s blade was made of miasmic crystals and was oozing distorted mental damage waves dense enough to drive an S-ranker insane from just one look at the dagger; it was indeed a perfect fit for a monster like Rio.

"I like this; I would keep it. I have been thinking of new ways to use miasma; this might come in handy when I want more inspiration..."

Seeing Rio so happy over such a shady artifact, the demon king gave a wry smile and ask quietly,

"Uh... right now there are no demon princes left in the demon race... If you like, you are welcome any time. I don’t mind giving you the position of a powerful demon general, too."

Hearing those words, Rio rolled his eyes and replied in annoyance,

"No way, everyone is already saying that I might be a child of the ’Demon King’ behind my back; it’s better not to make the misunderstanding more severe!"

"I don’t want to have anything to do with those cruel demon generals or princes that like to torture people on a whim!"

The Demon King didn’t know whether to laugh or cry about how shamelessly Rio was claiming himself to be a good guy and blaming all bad things on others, but he didn’t want to upset Rio, so he could only shake his head in dismay.

"By the way, now that I have agreed to visit the demon continent, it would be wise if you would tell your army to retreat."

The Demon King agreed with those words too.

"I was actually just trying to make as much chaos as possible but now that you are already willing to listen to me on your own, I don’t have to do these pointless things..."

"Truthfully speaking, I was afraid for a bit as I noticed the changes in the strings of destinies and noticed that you were never going to meet me in the future after the secret meeting turned things completely unfavorable for the demons..."

"There are infinite possibilities in the future and even a small disturbance can change everything..."

The Demon King looked at Rio and spoke,

"Originally, the plan was to kidnap you to have a talk but you grow too fast and easily managed to defeat Raika, so I can’t proceed with the other possibilities..."

Rio is an uncertainty; his actions constantly change the future and turn new possibilities into reality over and over. Even someone like Nebo Dahaka cannot properly predict or keep track of Rio’s movements at all!

The Demon King was incapable of forcefully controlling the strings of destinies to meet Rio; all he could do was narrow down the possibilities, make a situation that was favorable to him, and finally meet Rio under better circumstances.

"I am happy that we got to meet and managed to agree on certain terms, and for that I want to tell you all about the many troubles that have been troubling you..."

"But I can’t do it right now... or more accurately, you are already capable of finding out everything on your own right?"

Rio felt disappointed that the Demon King didn’t want to keep talking about why he was losing emotions, but Rio nodded his head.

"I know... I have to reach the realm of demi-gods, and I will be able to comprehend all of my circumstances on my own."

"By then, I wouldn’t need to ask anyone else for explanations..."

Rio was originally very eager to find out about the problem of his slipping emotions, but right now, he wasn’t as enthusiastic anymore.

He knew that he could find the reason after reaching rank SS, but Rio didn’t want to be hasty and ascend to the next realm prematurely.

’The knowledge might cause me more trouble right now so it’s better to inquire about it when I am strong enough to withstand its burden...’

Rio sighed, took a deep breath, put the empty teacup away, and asked in a serious tone,

"Well, other stuff aside, let’s get to the main point now..."

"Tell me, why did you want to meet me so eagerly, Demon King Nebo Dahaka?"

As Rio spoke those words, the relaxed atmosphere became tense once again!
