Chapter 881: The Taste of Death, Rio Vs. Demon King! Part-1.

"To be able to match the power of the realm created by the literal ’Crown of Realms’ with just your own power... you really are strong, Nebo Dahaka!!"

A happy look appeared on Rio’s face as he stood in an empty void created between the gap of time and space formed due to the clash of two insanely powerful realms of existence!

"HAHAHA!!! As expected of the Crown of Endless Realms!! It can be used to create a realm that can counter my ’True Paradise’!"

The Demon King was just as happy as Rio, of course.

Before coming to the Demon Continent, Rio had already asked Ashtel about his battle with the Demon King and already knew most of the powers and tricks that the Demon King had used.

One of the strongest abilities among them was the domain of ’True Paradise,’ which caused the opponent’s inner heart to manifest and rendered them helpless.

Rio knew that if he let his inner heart manifest, it would be Lia, who would appear in the illusion, and it would significantly hinder his combat capability.

Thus, eliminating the trouble from the domain realm first was the most important thing for Rio in this battle!

’With proper preparation and counter-measures in place, you can utilize artifacts that are perfect counters for the opponent and can make even an SS-ranker troubled.’

Although Rio was willing to taste death in this battle for his own ascension, he wasn’t the type to go down without a fight.

[Sword Intent!]

[Elemental Sword Art: Light Type: Golden Rising Sun!]

Rio rushed straight towards the Demon King, bent his shoulder downward, and unleashed an upward sword-unsheathing strike like a rising sun.

The density of light elementals covering his sword was so high that it almost seemed like he had attached a piece of the sun itself to his own sword!

[Golden Heart Martial Art: Indomitable Fist: Planet Shattering Fist!]

The Demon King’s fist holding a Knuckleduster-shaped weapon smashed down and collided with Rio’s sword attack head with immense force!

*RUMBLE!!*

The void rumbled from the sheer power of the attack!

Rio’s sword was bounced off, and the Demon King was pushed back!

"Hoh? An artifact at the pseudo-legendary level? That’s interesting!"

Rio wasn’t using ’Vinash’ at its full potential, but even then, this sword had extremely high offensive capabilities when paired with such overwhelmingly powerful sword intent.

And yet, Rio’s sword was bounced off!

This only meant the artifact it had collided with was extremely durable!

"It’s a strong artifact, but still it’s not as strong as your sword."

The Demon King looked at the Knuckle-Duster that had cracks all over it and threw it away instantly before summoning some other artifact from his giant arsenal.

Massive spatial rifts opened in the area as gigantic weapons in various shapes and forms flew out of them.

"The Demon King’s palace’s treasury is like my personal arsenal, and I can summon all the artifacts inside to fight for me. All these artifacts behave independently, and summoning them is like calling an independent army."

Rio raised his sword and placed it around his waist before taking his stance.

"You don’t think that I will let you do that, right?"

[Sword Intent: Maximum Output!]

[Elemental Sword Art: Space Type: Rolling Spatial Storm!]

With a swing of his sword, Rio made a powerful disturbance in the space-time fabric and tried to disturb the opening of the spatial rifts!

But to his surprise the rifts remained as stable as always and weren’t affected in the slightest!

Instead, massive chains rushed out to take advantage of that momentary surprise and exploited the opening to rush straight towards Rio!

"The arsenal is connected to my soul; it won’t be affected by external factors. It’s futile to try and stop it from opening!"

Rio tried to parry the rushing chains, but to his surprise, they didn’t even budge!

Instead, they turned invisible, and an invisible suppression force appeared around Rio.

"These are chains of universal anchoring. They can bind anyone and anything to a particular location or part of the universe strongly and reduce their mobility and other abilities tremendously!"

"As an ’Anomaly,’ this will only be able to slow you down a bit at most without being able to put much restrictions, but that is already enough for me!"

[Destined Fate!]

[Destiny Manipulation Martial Art: Twisting Strings: Thread Breaker!]

Using a strange wing-like artifact to boost his movement speed through the void many times, the Demon King rushed straight towards Rio and aimed his fist straight at Rio’s head.

[Sword Intent!]

[Sword Sage’s Enlightenment: Miasma Manipulation: Unfathomable Rot!]

To counter the situation, Rio used miasma to instantly rot the chains trying to restrict his movements and destroyed them with decay!

Then he immediately used his miasma-coated sword to clash head-on with the Demon King’s fist!

*BOOOOM!!!*

The two forces collided with such insane power that both Rio and the Demon King were flung off dozens of kilometers from the force of the blast!

"Heh... it’s been a while since I saw my own blood."

Rio looked at the small cut on his forearms, and a grin appeared on his face.

Ever since Rio became an S-ranker, he had become so strong that he was almost invincible in the same realm, and others could not even last for a few seconds in front of him.

The last time Rio suffered an actual significant injury was against Raika in the spirit realm when Rio’s soul skills were still weak.

"You are really strong, Demon King Nebo Dahaka. No wonder you won against Ashtel Rex! Destiny Manipulation—this ability is really incredible!"

Rio himself had destiny manipulation abilities, but he didn’t have a dedicated legendary skill, ’Destined Fate,’ to boost the powers of that skill, so his ability in that field was ultimately much weaker than the Demon King.

’He used a roundabout way of twisting the strings of destiny to harm me just now... how crafty, if I hadn’t counterattacked, that attack could have indeed been fatal!’

In the universe everything had a destiny and strings of destinies attached to it; this included even inanimate objects like space and the void of a particular area.

The Demon King used those strings to Destiny to not only boost his own mobility and power; he could use those strings to bypass Rio’s sword intent, covering his body, and harm his body directly!

’I wonder if I can copy that... hmm, it would take too much time though.’
