Chapter 905: Invitation from The Land of Fairies. Part-5.

"Although my father and a few other SS rankers placed a restriction and seal on it, the miasma spewing out of it is too dense for some reason, and the restrictions don’t seem to last long enough..."

They renewed the seal several times already, but each time it grew weaker faster than before, almost as if the dungeon itself were learning how to break free.

Looking at Rio, Selain spoke in an almost pleading tone,

Her eyes were serious and sincere, and there was no trace of the teasing pride that she had once shown towards him in the past.

"The problem of miasmic gates, rifts, and dungeons opening inside the territory of the Dragon Valley is not new."

"The dragons have lived with this danger for countless generations, and they have always managed to handle it with their strength..."

"These kinds of dangerous dungeons and rifts have opened in the dragon valley since the time of mana descent, and we even have dedicated artifacts for them... but this one is different; even my father was hesitating to get close to that dungeon..."

"He asked me to tell you that the density of the miasma rushing out of that dungeon has reached almost the level of the deepest layers of the spirit realm..."

Not even the elder dragons of the valley could say what might be hiding in the darkest depths, and that uncertainty is what was the most frightening.

"Father wanted to ask whether you had any interest in exploring that dungeon..."

The Dragon King was too proud to ask for help himself from a junior, so he entrusted Selain with the task of delivering the message to Rio.

A sense of helplessness was written all over Selain’s face while talking about this matter.

Her lips pressed together into a thin line, and her gaze drifted to the floor, as though she were embarrassed to have asked for help.

Although Selain belonged to the new generation of the dragon race and was less stubborn compared to the older dragons, she still took immense pride in her lineage.

Asking for help and bowing her head to others was something that Selain didn’t want to do due to her own innate pride as a dragon.

Yet here she was, with a letter in her hands and a quiet plea in her voice, and the courage that it took was far greater than any battle she had ever fought.

But she also knew that pride and stubbornness can’t save lives in this dangerous situation.

She had seen what the miasma could do to people and how horrific the outcome for those who fell in its grasp was.

Even her father, who was supposed to be the world’s strongest individual right after Rio, couldn’t properly grasp the dangers hidden in that dungeon.

The Dragon King had stood before countless storms without flinching during his thousand-year reign, so if even he chose caution, then the danger inside that dungeon was something truly terrifying. The only person who could possibly solve this deadlock was Rio.

Rio was a new Demi-god, but everyone knew that he was overwhelmingly strong even among other Demi-gods! So much so that he almost seemed like a realm above everyone else!

Even the prideful and powerful Dragon King had been brought to his knees by Rio with just his overflowing aura alone despite being separated by a distance of different realms!

In the current world, Rio was the strongest without a doubt!

Moreover, he had the highest resistance to miasma!

He was the only one qualified to enter and explore that dangerous dungeon without getting affected by its corruption!

Everyone present understood this truth very clearly, even if nobody had said it out loud, and the weight of it made the room fall quiet again.

"Err... it’s not like I don’t want to help, but as you know... my and Lia’s wedding is just a month away... I can’t just go exploring a dungeon at this time..."

He scratched the back of his head with an awkward laugh, and it was easy to see that he was torn between his duty as a strong man and his responsibility as a groom.

Rio glanced at Lia’s face as if he was asking her to make the decision.

In the past he would have simply made the decision by himself, but right now he preferred to hear her thoughts first, and that small change made Lia’s heart feel warm.

Lia immediately understood Rio’s troubles just by the look on his face and nodded her head.

"Don’t worry, with how strong you are, it won’t take long for you to explore that dungeon. A week at most."

"I have also wanted to meet the fairies for a while now... last time I met them was in that modified hidden dungeon... I hope that the fairies can safely return to their home..."

Her gaze turned distant for a moment, as the memory of two little cheerful voices drifted back into her mind.

Lia had become good friends with Lyria and Miria during her ascension to rank S incident, and she really wanted the fairy race to find peace just like every other race has.

They had shared laughter and a difficult battle together, and the bond formed in those dangerous days had never faded, even after they went towards their separate fates and destinies.

Rio has removed miasma from the material world and brought peace to countless races, and now that the fairy continent has been restored, it was only natural that the fairies should return back to their homeland.

The fairies deserved to see the green hills and flowing streams of their ancestors once again, to walk beneath the same sky that their ancient kin had once flown across.

"I believe in Rio’s strength; we can all go and visit the Dragon Valley and the Fairyland while Rio takes care of the dungeon."

She lifted her chin with a bright smile, and the confident tone of her voice made it clear that she had no doubt in her heart whatsoever.

Although Lia wanted to have Rio all to herself, she was not na?ve enough to ignore the troubles happening in the world.

A small and selfish part of her did wish to keep him close, but a larger and wiser part knew that his strength was needed elsewhere at the moment.
