Chapter 906: A New Adventure! Team Astra, Assemble! Part-1.

If Rio’s strength could bring peace to the world and save countless innocent victims from a horrible fate, Lia was willing to part with Rio for a few moments.

A single week was a very short time compared to the long years that she hoped to spend with him afterwards, and so she let the small sadness fade away quietly.

’It’s just similar to how Rio behaves... he never pressures me to do anything and always asks my opinion; he never confines or tries to control what I wish to do.’

He had never once ordered her around, and in all the years they had known each other, he had always listened first and spoken later.

’I should not be overly controlling; I should be like him and should understand when to take a step back at important times. Mel also said that I needed to develop more tactfulness...’

She nodded to herself in her heart, silently promising that she would grow into the kind of wife who could stand firmly beside him rather than cling to his shadows.

Marriage was no simple matter for an awakener.

It was not the same as the ordinary weddings of ordinary people, where the vows were made with the expectation of a few decades of shared life.

The lifespan of an awakener was counted not in years but in centuries!

Such long lifespans brought their own sets of problems and troubles.

Many couples among awakeners find it difficult to maintain their marriage after a few decades, and rarely ever do those marriages cross the hundred-year mark!

Everyone knew these stories, and many couples who had once sworn to love each other for eternity eventually drifted apart like two boats caught in separate currents.

Some marriages get broken and some get completely forgotten!

This is not just because of worldly troubles but because the time period of hundreds of years is too long for a human’s mind.

The heart changes slowly, like a river carving its path through stone, and without care and attention it can wander very far from where it once began.

Even after becoming a demi-god, a human still retained their human emotions and humanity, and when two people lived together for centuries, it was obvious that arguments and small troubles would arise sooner or later.

Anger, jealousy, stubbornness, and sadness did not simply vanish with greater power, and a tiny misunderstanding left unspoken could grow into a mountain given enough years.

Unless Lia could directly read Rio’s mind, it wouldn’t be possible for her to completely understand all of his actions; only patience and good communication can help in such scenarios.

She had accepted this a long time ago, and rather than fearing it, she had chosen to face it.

Lia just needed to believe in Rio just like he did for her too; that was what Mel had taught her regarding marriage.

Mel had said these words while folding laundry with her usual flat expression, and yet Lia had never forgotten them, for they had felt like a quiet treasure handed over without any ceremony.

Mel’s knowledge about relationships and love was always accurate, and Lia relied on it a lot, but what made her feel the most confused was the fact that Mel herself had never been in love or relationships despite being such a good advisor.

’The coach doesn’t play the game themselve, I guess...’

While Lia was busy thinking various things in her mind, another voice suddenly rang out in the room,

"This is good! I have always wanted to visit the fairies and learn about their unique healing abilities!"

Her eyes sparkled brightly, and she clapped her hands together in front of her chest with an openly excited look on her face.

Riya, who was tossing candies in her mouth silently until now, also agreed to go, as she had great interest in all kinds of healing skills and abilities.

She had been so quiet that most of the group had almost forgotten she was there, yet the moment healing was mentioned, her ears had visibly perked up.

"Liam, the fairies are very good at elemental magic due to their innate nature; we should go and visit too. With your mana field, you can certainly grasp new inspirations..."

Ellie also wanted to visit the legendary dragon valley and see it with her own eyes because the last time the group went there, Ellie was unable to manifest herself and couldn’t see anything.

She had spent that entire visit as little more than a whisper and a shadow, listening to the others speak about the sights she could never see.

Now was the perfect chance to finally visit the homeland of the dragon race and learn more about the place where the shadow dragons once resided.

Her fingers curled together nervously in front of her, but the small, hopeful smile on her face showed how much she was looking forward to it.

Seeing that everyone was thinking of visiting the Dragon Valley, Rio immediately decided to agree to the invitation and agreed to head to the Dragon Valley, bringing a smile to Selain’s worried face.

"Good, we shall head to the Fairyland together tomorrow then! Just like always, the team Astra will go on an adventure together!"

The tension finally eased from Selain’s shoulders, and the faint worry lines on her forehead smoothed away as a genuine and grateful smile bloomed on her lips.

"Thank you, everyone; the dragon race will surely remember this favor and repay you all generously."

She lowered her head slightly in a graceful bow to show her sincerity.

Hearing those words, Link just waved his hand and spoke in a calm voice.

"No worries, it’s only natural to help out your friends in times of need..."

With everyone’s agreement, they soon made the plan and decided on the trip schedule.

Link and the others hurried back home to settle their urgent matters first so that they could return back early in the morning and go to the dragon valley together with Rio and Lia.

Selain stayed at the Demon King Palace for the night and chatted with Lia all day long. Their laughter echoed down the warm corridors long into the evening, and the sound of two girls gossiping like old friends drifted through the entire palace.

Rio felt a bit lonely for being left alone, but then his eyes fell on Kai, who was sleeping in a corner all alone due to always being forgotten, and he felt much better.

Kai’s body shuddered being stared at by Rio, and he became confused as to why Rio was grinning at him, so he ignored Rio and kept lying flat in the sunlight like a dead log.

The poor creature had a sudden feeling that something unfortunate was about to happen, but he lacked the energy and the courage to investigate any further, and so he simply closed his eyes and pretended that he was part of the floor.
