Reborn As Noble

Chapter 1224: Trust and Control ( 1224 )

Meanwhile.

In the war room inside the next temporary building.

Javier, who had just listened to Liana’s call on his mana talkie, was visibly worried and surprised by her tone.

“L… Liana? What happened?”

“Young master…”

“Liana? Talk to me. Why do you sound like that?”

Garius, who was seated at the head of the table, glanced at Javier, his arms crossed.

“Javier?”

“Yes, Esteemed Father?” Javier stood at attention as Garius called him.

“Is there a problem?” Garius narrowed his eyes, his right eye glowing faintly.

“It’s Liana… she suddenly…”

Before Javier could finish, Garius exhaled.

“Just go to her. Leave this meeting to me. Go and see what’s happening in the next building. It may not be serious, but she likely needs you right now.”

“Thank you, Father. I’ll take my leave.” Javier bowed slightly and was about to turn when Garius called him again.

“Javier?”

He paused and glanced back.

“Y… yes, Esteemed Father?”

“Does Sky Eyes have weaponry systems installed?”

“Yes, Esteemed Father. Mana missiles, mana cannons, and mana gatling guns, more advanced than the battle drones or the Gaasad-1 units.” Javier explained.

“Good. Grant me temporary full access to Sky Eyes. I believe you won’t be able to join this meeting or any attack planning today. I trust my own judgment in deploying these assets if the situation demands it.”

“Mm.” Javier nodded and snapped his fingers. His mana PC materialized on the table in front of him, along with a pair of specialized mana glasses and a small cube that projected a crisp, clear holographic interface.

Garius signaled Alf to bring the items over to where he was seated.

“Err…” Javier asked respectfully, “Do you need an explanation on how to use it?”

“No need. Don’t worry about the details or technicalities. Just go and check on Liana.”

“Yes, Esteemed Father.” Javier gave a respectful bow before leaving the room in a rush.

After Javier left, Garius, seated at the head of the table, glanced at the items before him, his right eye glowing faintly as a smirk touched his lips.

Alf and Erinette stood behind him, one on his left and the other on his right, their postures attentive yet relaxed.

Meanwhile, Rolland, Sylvia, and their officers, along with Captain Bhujar, sat in silence, occasionally glancing at Garius and the strange devices on the table.

Rolland’s eyes lingered on the items Alf had placed before Garius.

I wonder what those are?

What did Garius mean when he asked his youngest son earlier?

Weapon system? From where?

And what does he mean by deploying these assets?

What kind of assets?

Flying swords? Powerful magic artifacts?

I do know some of Armand’s weapons, especially the ones I saw them use yesterday. Small black firearms with glowing lines, and black-silver rifles with the same luminous patterns, when they attacked those weird monsters from the rift yesterday.

But I can’t ask.

Not now, when Garius is still angry with us for not telling him about our situation, about Gracelle’s condition.

Even if we are best friends… I feel guilty for keeping him in the dark.

“Sylvia.” Garius said, glancing at her without turning his head.

“Y… yes, Your Majesty?”

“Leave this room and go to Francesca now. I believe she’s in the room upstairs. She might appreciate some company for a chocolate drink.”

Sylvia glanced at Rolland first, who gave her a subtle, reassuring nod, before she stood and bowed gracefully.

“As you command, Your Majesty. I’ll take my leave now.”

“Mm.” Garius nodded as he watched Sylvia step out of the room, the door closing softly behind her.

After Sylvia left, Garius reached for the cube. His right hand began to glow with a soft, golden mana light, intricate patterns swirling around his fingertips like liquid sunlight. He pressed the center of the cube, feeling a subtle vibration, before tossing it gently toward the center of the table.

The cube floated mid-air, humming softly as it began to glow. Light expanded from its core, weaving into a shimmering, three-dimensional holographic display that filled the space above the table. A crisp, clear live feed from Sky Eyes appeared, showing a real-time, bird’s-eye view of the Mathrias region, with astonishing detail, forests, rivers, troop movements, and even distant smoke from campfires were all visible.

Rolland and his officers’ eyes widened in shock and disbelief. A few gasped softly, while others leaned forward, unable to comprehend what they were seeing.

“W… what is this?” one officer whispered, his voice trembling.

“H… how… can they see everything… from the sky?”

“Is this why Armand is so strong? Because they have something no one else has?”

Rolland’s mind raced, his earlier guilt now mingled with awe and dread.

If they have instant communication devices, those advanced weapons, the knight constructs that moved with impossible precision, and now this… No wonder Garius was so confident, so casual, the day King Klimar stripped him of his title. No wonder he could declare independence from the Human Kingdom and establish Armand as a sovereign nation overnight.

If… if I knew Armand was this advanced, not just in weaponry but in healing and technology… I would have asked and told him everything before…

Alf smirked and leaned forward, whispering in a low voice toward Garius.

“Your Majesty. I believe you don’t even need to ask permission from your youngest son to use these. You could easily control it without needing to wait for his authorization.”

Garius chuckled softly, leaning back in his chair, his gaze still fixed on the glowing hologram.

“I know I could have taken control easily. But that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t ask. Even if my youngest son already knows I could do it without waiting for his permission… it’s a matter of respect. He built these systems. He trusts me with them. That trust is not something I take lightly.”

“Now…”

Everyone glanced at Garius, stiffening under his intense gaze before averting their eyes. He sat with his elbows resting on the table, his hands clasped together, his lips pressed against his knuckles, his eyes sharp and unwavering as he stared at each of them in turn.

“I believe we should start the meeting now? Hmm?” Garius asked, his gaze settling on Rolland.

“Y… yes, Your Majesty.”

“Good. After this, I will ask for your decisions on everything. And if I find any flaw in your reasoning or judgment…” He paused, his eyes narrowing slightly. “I will intervene with my own judgment.”
