Chapter 1344: Army growing
Chapter 1344: Army growing
It didn’t take long for Kong and the other Yellow Mankey Engineers to start planning the construction for the bridge. It was a huge undertaking. One that would require all hands on deck.
They couldn’t simply build something that would transport a person to the next. They had to build it with strength and longevity in mind.
Perhaps, millions of people would be traveling through these bridges every single day. This meant that there were a lot of chances for things to go wrong. Perhaps a car crash would send the whole thing tumbling down the chasm. Perhaps an overload would do it. Or maybe a storm would blow it away.
They couldn’t take any chances. Human lives depended on it. Literally. Michael didn’t want to have that hanging on his shoulders.
So, he had instructed Kong to spare no resources in building this bridge. If they had to build it using Mithril Artifacts, then so be it.
But of course, the Engineer Mankeys were good at their job. They could make an indestructible building only with concrete. Probably.
Speaking of whom, the Red Mankeys and the Yellow Mankeys finally met each other.
The two species were genetically cousins. The only difference between the two were their fur color, as well as the innate talents they had.
Of course, the Yellow Mankeys were more human, than demi-human. That was a result of their evolution from Michael awakening their talent.
Meaning, the Red Mankeys were seeing what they could be when they looked at the Yellow Mankeys.
"They look so... sophisticated."
"They don’t look like warriors... but they emit a strong smell. They’re dangerous too..."
"Could I be like them too?"
Michael appeared behind them with a smile on his face. "Of course. That’s what we’re here to do today."
He wanted to dedicate an entire day to awakening the Red Mankeys’ talents to finalize their citizenship to become Rebornians. Michael would be lying if he said he wasn’t excited too.
Is it bad to think that this is like a gacha game?
These Red Mankeys right in front of him could awaken into an S-class talent! Of course, the probability of that happening was small. His estimate would be only 0.5% out of the total population of their soldiers would awaken to have a really strong talent like that of Loren.
"Would you like to become strong?"
The Red Mankeys nodded subtly.
"Do you want to have strength to protect those you love?"
Now, their reactions were a little bit more enthusiastic.
"Do you want to never again be under the influence of those evil Ersatz assassins?"
They answered with an enthusiastic harrumph.
"Do you want to drink more beer?!"
"YEAH!"
Michael didn’t like the fact that they only reacted so strongly after he mentioned beer, but whatever. The more they believed in their own power, the higher the chances of them awakening a powerful talent.
"Step forward, each of you and tell me your name."
One of the Red Mankeys stepped away from formation and kneeled towards him. "Iril, sir!"
Michael raised his hand, a golden glow emitting around his body as he tapped into his Supreme Talent.
Iril’s chest glowed golden, before it enveloped him like a cocoon of light. A few seconds later, that light dissipated, leaving behind a completely new person.
The Red Mankey’s height grew taller. His physique, much more muscular. Strangely enough, he didn’t look like the Yellow Mankeys when they evolved. Instead, they looked more like Loren, the Mankey King. A more humanized version of an ape.
[Iril]
[A-class talent]
[Mankey Lightning Archer]
Iril looked at his own hands, surprised at the power he now held. Then, he looked up at the skies, as if he could see or hear some entity that spoke towards him.
"That’s the system," he told Iril. "That will be your connection to the Rebornian Nation. Next!"
Soon after that, more and more Red Mankeys awakened their talent. And just as Michael expected, their innate aptitudes were more inclined towards fighting than any other. All of them were basically given proficiency with some kind of weapon.
And surprisingly, they had a higher rate of high talents as well. Most of them were A-class talent. With those having S-class talents in the double digits!
"Wow... that’s amazing."
Sure, there were tens upon tens of thousands of them here. But the fact that there were that many S-class talents was truly surprising. No wonder they were able to hold their own against Conglomerates for so long.
It took Michael a whole day before he awakened the entire army of Red Mankeys. All 40,000 of them.
Of course, that wasn’t the end of his awakening binge. He still promised the Nymph Monarch to awaken the demi-humans in her kingdom. The Red Mankeys there must number in the hundreds of thousands, which meant a lot more work for him.
But it didn’t matter. Now, Michael had basically tripled the size of his army.
Loren the Mankey King, stood at attention right next to Michael. He would be the Main general of this army.
They were going to be the leaders of the new Red Mankey division of Reborn!
Caliburn walked towards Michael, whistling as he observed the new division of the Rebornian army.
"Damn... what a powerhouse," Caliburn muttered. "Looks like we also have our work cut out for us."
"Thank you for your hard work."
"Well, you’ll have to work hard too," Caliburn said. "I also want my Lionhearts to have the same ’Awakening’ as these guys. They want to buy skills!"
Michael sighed. "Yeah, yeah, get in line."
It was a privilege for Michael to feel this busy. By the end of this Awakening binge, the Nation of Reborn would experience a great substantial growth in power unlike anything they had ever seen before.
"Though, we probably won’t be able to train them with our Eternal Flame swordstyle, you know that, right?"
Michael nodded. Not everyone in the Red Mankey army was proficient in the swords.
This meant that he would have to find more teachers for them to learn from...
