Chapter 1407: Undiagnosed
Chapter 1407: Undiagnosed
Michael immediately went over to the Rebornian Camp. Now usually, this would be a place where tens of thousands of soldiers were working hard and performing their stances in rows and columns.
But now, it has been almost completely deserted. The only ones that were left here were the reserves of the Rebornian army. The people who were working hard on training their bodies, but weren’t being called upon to serve as the swords and shields of Reborn.
And right now, he saw Lima in the middle of a group, all looking towards her with looks of admiration in their eyes.
Then, Lima took out a spear from one of the weapon storages in the corner and tossed it towards the group of reserve soldiers. The man took it in his hands, before nodding towards Lima and accepting the new weapon given to him.
She then continued to give out more and more practice spears towards the men, each one eagerly accepting it as if it was some kind of gift.
Michael touched down right next to his Unity Clone. "Wow. You move fast," he said, complimenting her. In just a matter of a few minutes, she was able to take control of the Rebornian reserves and even persuade them into taking up the spears to practice.
"These people are not talented in the spear," Lima said. "However, the spearstyle that you have imparted upon me does not require such standards. They only need to be bloodthirsty. And achieving that is a lot easier than making these people become talented out of nowhere."
Michael was very impressed and a little bit intimidated by the clone that he had created for himself. Even Draco didn’t seem so... straightforward about being bloodthirsty. Now, it seemed that it was a source of pride for her.
"I will give you permission to go on the black igloo. You know about it, right? You can train your new Spear Division there."
Lima nodded. "Yes.... I seem to remember seeing it."
Seeing it? I haven’t shown that to her yet after he created her as his clone... unless...
A new theory popped up in his mind. What if she could remember her memories back from when she was merely a Unity Creature?!
"Do you remember anything else? Do you remember your life before I created you?"
Lima looked beyond Michael, as if she was searching through her memories. But soon, she frowned and massaged her head. "It’s... blurry. I do not remember much. I can only perceive darkness for a long time... then light came. You came."
Michael found this insanely interesting. It had the same importance as when people discovered that butterflies remembered their past even before they had transformed into a butterfly and were merely caterpillars.
It seemed that the Unity Creatures had some kind of sentience already inherent within them.
It was at this point that he realized truly how far behind he was in terms of Unity when it came to comparing himself against the Ancient Humans. Everything that he had used Unity with, he had borrowed from them. The only thing that he created himself was the Unity Gun.
I really need to get to the Guild of Arcana’s secret library...
Michael now had Aetrox’s medallion. He just needed three more so that he could have special permission to enter that sacred place of knowledge.
He found Lazarus back in his new laboratory in the Nation of Reborn. This place looked dark and gloomy, as if it was some kind of place where Frankenstein’s monster would be born. Dark flasks, electricity flickering through the roofs, mounds of flesh pulsating on plates.
The Mystic Master of the Dead was busy researching ways in order to create the Chimera, the Magical Monsters that had somehow wielded the power of the Nascent Spirit cultivators.
Except now, they were trying to find out how to breed and create them without the need for sacrificing humans for their growth.
Lazarus stood in front of a large glass vat chamber filled with ominous green liquid. It was bubbling from within, seething from some kind of chemical reaction.
And inside this vat was what seemed like an embryo of a creature. It was very small. Tiny enough to crush with one’s fingers. But even then, Michael could already feel Aubility Power emanating out of the creature. It was faint. Just a small pulse, and something that only he could sense because of his enhanced senses.
But it was there. It was present.
"How goes the project?" Michael asked Lazarus.
The emo Mystic Master flinched as he finally noticed Michael’s presence. "Oh... you’re here."
"I see you’ve created an embryo of the chimera. Impressive."
But it seemed that it wasn’t impressive enough for Lazarus. "Tsk. It’s not good. These embryos cannot grow past this stage. It’s as if they’re stifled by something. Something that I do not know, and it is frustrating me to no end."
Michael saw Lazarus biting his own lip out of frustration.
"It’s good to relax once in a while, Lazarus," Michael reminded him.
"I don’t need sleep. I need answers," Lazarus answered rudely. "Sorry. I get cranky when I can’t find the answers that I want. This reminds me of the time when I tried to find the answers about the Zephyrs."
Michael raised his eyebrows. "Actually, Lazarus. I could also help you with that."
"What are you trying to say?"
"I’m saying that I also have a little bit of interest in Zephyrs. I want you to study them so that their explosive tendencies wouldn’t be so... explosive. A controlled detonation, maybe."
Lazarus’ eyes widened as he heard Michael’s words. "Hmmm that is a very interesting idea. I don’t know how that could work though, as they detonate as soon as they see other people. Maybe we could do it through a synthesized human..."
Immediately, the Mystic Master’s attention was drawn to Michael’s idea about the Zephyrs. He had completely forgotten about his obsession with the Chimeras.
This guy definitely has an undiagnosed ADHD.
