Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 1408: Back to the island

Chapter 1408: Back to the island

After a few more minutes of Lazarus simply spewing out possible theories and solutions for the Zephyrs, he finally snapped out of his stupor. "Why am I even wasting my time talking about this? It’s impossible.

Zephyrs live in the continent of the Elves. Their island is uninhabited and is hard to navigate through. It would take months upon months of travel to go there. And it’s not even a guarantee that I would get to capture those creatures. Although, I would like to try... but no. It’s just too hard."

Michael smiled. "What would you do, Lazarus, if I told you that I have a way for you to enter into the Forbidden Island of the Elven Kingdom? In that place, you’ll find the very birthplace of Zephyrs."

The Mystic Master’s eyes turned serious with obsession in his eyes. "Don’t give me a tantalizing dream. Are you really serious?"

Michael nodded. "Yes. I have found a reliable way to travel there. By teleportation. I stumbled upon it by accident.

In fact, I also wanted to go there and study the Zephyrs. I wanted to know why they had become the Elves’ natural enemy. I wanted to know why Zephyrs were so obsessed with killing the Elves and blowing up their entire race into oblivion.

However, I found that it was too time consuming. So, I haven’t done it at all. But hopefully, Lazarus, you’ll be able to do what I couldn’t."

The undead Mystic Master looked at Michael, trying to discern whether what he was saying was the truth or not.

Lazarus could only tell one thing: and it was that Michael’s curiosity about the Zephyrs were real.

"Teleportation? That’s impossible," Lazarus eventually said, shaking his head. "That place is halfway across the entire world. The mana required for such large-scale teleportation would be extremely large, something that I don’t think Mystic Masters like me would have the capacity to do. Not only that, but with magic—"

Michael didn’t wait and simply conjured a large magic circle on the bottom of their feet.

Immediately, Lazarus recognized the symbols in the magic circle to be a teleportation spell!

Then, it wasn’t long before a golden light enveloped their entire beings. The mana in their surroundings immediately rushed towards the magic circle, filling it with the necessary juice in order to complete the spell.

These motes of mana were more than eager to help Michael. They’d been starved of human connection for too long. So, his transportation to the Forbidden Island of the Elven Kingdom went smoother than the last time.

Michael and Lazarus felt themselves get enveloped by a golden light, before blinding them.

And a few seconds later, that light subsided. And Lazarus found himself looking around in wonder as an entirely new environment opened up to him.

It was an exotic jungle. With ferns and giant leaves and tropical trees surrounding them.

Of course, Lazarus immediately recognized where he was. "No way... no way no way no way!"

The undead Mystic Master was completely overwhelmed. First of all, he didn’t think that Michael would actually be able to conjure up a teleportation spell that let them travel halfway across the entire world!

And second of all, he couldn’t believe that he had finally stepped foot into this place after years and years of pining for it!

He could feel the scent of adventure waiting for him on the other side of that jungle. And he could see, with his unique death perception, that there were many Zephyrs lurking around the entire island, just waiting for them to be studied.

"I have once again underestimated you, young Reborn. This is beyond even my imagination!"

Michael smiled. "Well, I’m glad you like it. Since you’re a Mystic Master, I trust that you’ll be able to take care of yourself, correct?"

Lazarus almost scoffed at Michael’s words, before realizing that even he would have to be worried. Getting mobbed by hundreds of Zephyrs would spell certain doom to even Mystic Masters.

"How much time do you think you would need to study the Zephyrs, Lazarus?"

The Mystic Master began counting in his hands. "One...year. No, but I can’t leave my studies and research on Chimera! But... but... but... Zephyrs are too interesting of a subject to ignore!"

Faced with such hard decisions, Lazarus couldn’t pick. Eventually, Michael gave him a compromise. "I’ll leave behind my shadow here. And if you are done with your studies with the Zephyr or just simply want to return back to the Nation of Reborn, you can contact it and it will conjure up the teleportation spell for you to take."

Hearing this, Lazarus was more than overjoyed. He was so happy that Michael could even see his left eye brimming with happiness, which was usually hidden by his emo bangs.

"HAHAHAHA! You are a lifesaver! This is a dream come true for me! Research galore! I really think that my research with Zephyrs will also help me with my studies on the Chimera."

"What do you mean?"

"They have the same kind of property," replied Lazarus. "Both of them are designed to destroy a species. Zephyrs seem to have an innate desire to explode Elves. Meanwhile, these Chimeras are made to counter the oppressive Aubility Powers and Nascent Influences of the human race."

Hearing this out loud, Michael couldn’t help but slap his own head. Why hadn’t he made the connection before?! It was only when Lazarus pointed it out to him did it finally connect.

It was true. Both of them were creatures whose power completely countered their intended species!

And going by this logic, wouldn’t the other species also have their own monsters that they had to worry about? What about the Mermen? The Werewolves? The Vampires? And even the Draconians, who were the most powerful species in the world? Did they have their own... predator?

Michael was now very much interested in what Lazarus would find out from his research.

In the beginning, he had just told him about the Zephyrs so that the Mystic Master would feel indebted to him and give him his signature medallion. Now, he was probably even more curious than Lazarus.
