Chapter 1432: Fiery finish

With the increased cultivation, the Fiery Car driver accelerated at a much faster pace! As if everything before wasn’t even their fastest speed.

Elizabeth struggled to keep up at this point. Slowly, the Fiery Car was starting to get the edge.

And if things weren’t hard enough, fire suddenly exploded in the track right in front of them.

Flames billowed up to the high heavens, engulfing everything in hot fire.

The Vanderbilt car speed forwards. And the fire seemed to help its speed! In the presence of the overwhelming flames, the Fiery Car felt like they were gliding through reality! As if this wasn’t fire, but ice instead!

This allowed them to speed ahead of Elizabeth’s car.

And in comparison, her F1 car struggled against the fire. It looked like it was slowing her down.

But in reality, the track was actually getting longer and longer!

This was actually a property of heat. Everyone knew that heat allowed for properties to expand. Much like how a skyscraper grows a few inches taller in a really hot day.

Except in these flames, that effect was incredibly boosted up! After the Vanderbilt flames covered the road, everything seemed to elongate by a few hundred meters!

And in a racing battle, this kind of advantage was basically a game-winner.

This was the Vanderbilt Nascent Influence!

They were using all of their arsenal, all of their hidden tricks in order to win this race. All the other spectators around them couldn’t help but applaud Jobe for his work.

"As expected of the Vanderbilts..."

"Their car has everything. It’s as indestructible as the Monster car. It has a Nascent Influence like the one from the Ship Car. And it also doesn’t lose out on driving skills compared to the Rebornian car. They’re definitely going to win this race."

This was simply the difference in an Upper Echelon and a Conglomerate. It was a microcosm of everything.

The Upper Echelon may have some skill that allowed them to compete in the global level. However, the Conglomerate had the skill and the influence and the power. They had everything.

So, they were able to put a lot more resources into their victory than most. That was why the 1st to 4th place were taken up by the Conglomerates.

The only anomaly was the Reborn company. They not only reached the top 5, but they were also in the top 2! That was impressive enough for most people.

And even if this became the end result of the race, people wouldn’t hold it against the Reborn company.

By now, they were completely impressed by this new company. They now understood that Reborn truly was the progenitor of the automobiles. They were the premier voice when it came to anything car-related.

Fuel, accessories, engineering, everything.

Elizabeth was able to showcase how even a car without any Nascent Influence or Aubility Power could compete against the Conglomerates.

All the other engineers watching this were already awed at the gear shifting mechanism of the F1 car, as well as the over-all design of the car that made it so aero-dynamic.

It was just inevitable that they lost to a Conglomerate. Nothing could be done about that.

However, Michael was not satisfied with that. In fact, Elizabeth was even more so frustrated if this was how she ended the race.

She knew she could beat the other car.

She just needed to be more perfect. She needed to make fewer mistakes!

And it was at this point that something within Elizabeth began to change. Something inside her glowed golden.

An aura of pure brightness emanated out of her body. Suddenly, her eyes began to shine with a completely different color. It was fiery red.

Elizabeth felt her adrenaline rush as she shifted her gears and stepped on the accelerator.

"Come on!" she shouted. "Just a little bit more!"

And through inexplicable means, the F1 car began to inch closer and closer to the Fiery Car.

Jobe Vanderbilt and the rest of the spectators were completely stunned upon seeing this.

How was she getting even faster?!

They were already on the last lap. The waving flag was just a few hundred meters away! It was a straight line, which meant that the Fiery Car should have all the advantages to finally cross over to the finish line!

But instead, the Rebornian car was clawing forward, inching closer and closer.

It came to a point where the Fiery driver was starting to panic. The accelerator pedal was already pushed to the floor!

And yet, on the corner of his eyes, he saw the F1 car approach him from the side.

From this point, he didn’t know who would win. Nobody knew!

Then, both cars crossed the finish line, seemingly at the same time, causing the crowd to erupt in raucous cheering. It was a drama-filled excitement!

"WOAH! Who won?!"

"The Fiery Car did! I saw them crossing the finish line first!"

"No, the Reborn car overtook them at the very last moment!"

"You’re seeing things!"

No one could decide on the winner. But thankfully, Michael and the Reborn company was already ready for such things.

"What an ending to the race. A photo finish!" said the announcer. "Now, let us see a slow-mo replay of the deciding moment!"

Everyone’s eyes were directed to the screen. It showed the moment when the two cars were just about to reach the finish line.

The video slowed to a crawl, and eventually, people saw that the Rebornian Car was able to cross the finish line by a single inch!

It was so close! However, it was clear from the replay that the F1 car truly crossed the finish line first.

Jobe Vanderbilt sat down in complete disbelief. He, and the rest of the Nascent Spirit cultivators in the spectating arena, knew the results even before the replay.

They saw the moment when the Rebornian car won by an inch. There was no mistaking it.

But that wasn’t even the most surprising part. They were more concerned with how Elizabeth won.

She... she had ’willed’ the car to push faster!
