Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 1458: Threads

Chapter 1458: Threads

Michael couldn’t care about anything outside of his own presence. He didn’t care about whatever Worcester was doing back in the real world.

He was way too focused on bringing Zion back to reality.

However, it was too hard. He felt the thread starting to burn into cinders. If this continued, he wouldn’t be able to adapt Zion’s thread of life into whatever Influence he wanted to imbue into it.

The problem was that Michael was too weak. Changing the fate of Zion was like a mortal human trying to fly up into the high heavens. It simply wasn’t possible.

There were way too many threads in reality. Zion’s death created a lot of reverberations throughout the overall tapestry of fate.

Zion should die today. Period. That was what the fates had prescribed for him. Michael wasn’t supposed to try and stop that.

But he did. And it was creating unintended effects onto other parts of reality. Michael felt as if he would somehow break the threads of life for hundreds of other people if he made the wrong move a single time.

It was a delicate procedure. It didn’t help that Michael was panicking a little bit.

As much as he wanted to be neutral and without emotions, even he couldn’t help but feel sad for Zion. He was his friend. He was his family. And holding Zion’s life thread in his hands only served to exacerbate the severity of the situation.

Michael felt his hands trembling as he tried to adjust the threads. Folding and knotting and twisting them like an unsolvable puzzle.

And here in the dimensions between reality and fate, Michael continued to look at the threads.

Time was not present here. The time that he spent trying to solve this problem cannot be comprehended by normal logic. It was like being stuck in a time loop for an eternity. And with each repetition, he would make the same mistakes over and over again.

It came to a point when he felt like things were hopeless.

But he didn’t give up. He persevered. He thought about Zion, and the other Dragonborns.

If they were in his shoes, they wouldn’t stop either. They would do everything in their power to save him.

And it was at that moment that Michael saw an ethereal hand coming down from up above, before eventually cupping his hands in a tight embrace.

Michael frowned. The hands in front of him were delicate. Feminine. Ethereal. It seemed to be made out of motes of silver light that glistened like metal.

Before Michael could even say anything, the feminine hands then took the thread in his hands and began to weave them together.

When Michael did it, each thread only became more and more entangled with each other. They would knot and overlap with each other.

But in these feminine hands, these threads moved smoothly and swiftly. They flowed perfectly, like laminar water. There were no knots not overlapping threads that came about from her alteration of fate.

And it was at that moment that both Michael and ChatJK6 realized something.

I see... so that’s how you do it.

[Using example to derive a process...]

Both of them were able to understand the principle of the threads. They learned a lot from what the feminine hands had done, allowing them to formulate something that would allow them to do what they wanted to do.

Armed with this new knowledge, Michael immediately went on to work.

He grasped at the threads of fate, before looking at Zion’s burning thread.

And with deft hands, he began to mend them together along with the other threads around it. He began to intertwine Zion’s life force to the life force of every single Rebornian in existence.

It would serve as a tether. One that would allow him to come back even after death.

Michael’s hands soon began to emit a golden light as he continued to imbue these threads with his Nascent Influence.

And soon, a tapestry was created. Most of it was empty, without any embellishments or designs. But there was a prominent symbol at the very center.

A letter ’R’, symbolizing the Reborn company and everything it encompassed.

With this new tapestry on the threads of reality, Michael let go of the burning thread in his hands.

Zion’s life force began to disintegrate, turning into ashes that flew off into the dimensions of fate, until finally it was gone.

The youngest Dragonborn was officially dead.

Everything was silent for a few seconds, until a new golden light emerged from the tapestry that Michael had created.

Slowly, singular threads began to unspool out of the tapestry, before it all twisted and formed a much bigger thread atop the tapestry.

This was Zion’s new life. This was his new fate.

Michael had now made it so that Zion adapted to his death. He was now no longer a being that ended his journey through death. Instead, it now only strengthened him.

Once his job was done, Michael let go of the threads and returned his presence back to the real world.

He looked around the isolated dimension and saw Worcester writhing on the ground, holding his head with both hands.

His eyes seemed to have been burned into nothing, leaving behind a void in its sockets.

Michael frowned. He didn’t understand what had happened.

"AHHHH!" Worcester screamed. "You... YOU.... YOU!"

Worcester pointed at Michael. It seemed that losing his eyes was not a determinant to his vision. Worcester looked at him with those black sockets of his eyes.

"You... YOU WILL DIE FOR THIS!" Worcester shouted. He charged towards Michael.

And Michael, now that he had finished his job reviving Zion, took out his Unity Saber from his pockets.

Then, he swung his sword. "Quantum Entanglement: Cleaving Darkness."

Worcester felt Michael’s sword coming from everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

He tried to dodge away, but it was too late.

An X formed in his torso as the Unity Saber sliced through his body and Nascent Armor with ease.
