Chapter 1459: Zion
Chapter 1459: Zion
Worcester died in pieces. The power of his Nascent Influence soon began to dissipate. The isolated dimension that he had trapped them in began to melt, allowing reality to seep into Michael’s surroundings.
It wasn’t long before he found himself back in the real world. Around him, the rest of the Racing Circuit were looking at him with stupefied looks.
"What... what happened?"
"They’re out! And... it looks like only Michael was left... meaning... "
"He won?! He won against Worcester?!"
The royals: the dukes, the viscounts, and the barons were all familiar with Worcester. As the 1st ranked heir of the Oscorpe Conglomerate, his power was not something that could be easily dismissed out of hand. It was especially not something that a young man like Michael could defeat.
And yet, the evidence was right there in front of their very faces. Michael was the only one left alive, while Worcester was nowhere to be seen.
Of course, many people immediately wanted to talk to Michael and ask him what had happened.
But his attention wasn’t focused here. His eyes were pointed towards the South, towards the Nation of Reborn.
He immediately used his Shadow Teleportation skill to transport himself to the Parched Lands in an instant.

Meanwhile, back in the real world...
Jaku and Sheina teleported back to the Nation of Reborn, having finished their defenses for Angora City. Using their communication services, they were assured that all of the Rebornian Territories were safe and sound now.
The Worcester soldiers were defeated. Their generals, killed. Now, the war was over.
But this victory wasn’t free.
They floated down into the destruction in the streets. Concrete rubble and burned pieces laid around them.
A crowd had gathered around Zion’s body. The young Dragonborn had been popular within the mortals of Reborn. He was a charismatic figure, a beloved kid.
And right now, Zion, in his dragon body, laid peacefully on the ground. He was curled up alongside himself, as if he was just merely sleeping.
Jaku and Sheina wanted to believe that that’s all what this was. Zion pretending to be asleep. But they knew that he was dead. They couldn’t feel his life force anymore.
A few seconds later, Umisu teleported right next to them. In her hands was Fudge. She immediately began weeping as soon as she saw Zion, before she eventually went over towards him and hugged him tightly.
All the officers of Reborn, every single citizen of the Nation, were all gathered here at the site of Zion’s death.
"Please tell me this isn’t true, right?" Umisu said. "How could this be?"
"BU TO TO! He was a fine warrior!"
"RAH TA TA! A hero till the very end."
It was at this point that the clouds parted, letting a single beam of light illuminate the streets.
Everyone looked up, only to see Michael standing above the skies.
Then, he raised his hand.
Suddenly, a golden thread emanated out of his hands, before it eventually floated downwards and wrapped itself around Zion’s heart
The light of the sun grew brighter in the Nation of Reborn. This was followed by a golden glow that emanated out of every single person gathered in the streets of Reborn.
Everyone looked at their own hands, seeing the golden glow and subconsciously felt as if they were at peace. So, they weren’t alarmed when that golden glow suddenly condensed into a ball of light that left their body and floated up to the streets.
Thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions of these golden lights floated up, before eventually coalescing into one single giant ball of golden aura.
Michael looked at this ball. This was the tapestry of fate that he had created.
And using this tapestry, the golden thread in Zion’s heart began to glow ever brighter.
It glowed brighter and brighter until Michael’s Nascent Influence began to change the very characteristic of Zion’s own fate.
A golden light emanated out of Zion’s dragon body, much like the light that came out of the other Rebornians.
Jaku, Sheina, and Umisu all looked at Zion with stupefied looks on their faces. They heard it. That subtle beating of his heart!
That beat got stronger and stronger as the golden light grew more intense.
Then, it came to a point where the golden light became as bright as the sun itself! It had caused many people to close their eyes for fear of becoming blind through the light.
A few seconds later, the light subsided.
Everyone opened their eyes, only to see that Zion was gone!
They all eventually looked up and saw a human boy floating up in the air, where the tapestry of fate used to be.
Zion opened his eyes, looking down at the citizens of Reborn, towards his siblings and his friends and his allies. Then, he tilted his head.
"Why do you all look like you’ve seen a ghost?" Zion asked.
His words caused everyone to become silent.
"Hmm?" Zion asked, completely stupefied. "Guys, I know that I’m a majestic dragon, but—"
It was at this point that Zion realized that he was no longer as large as he used to be. In fact, he was no longer a dragon at all! He looked like a normal boy now!
"WHAT?!"
And before he could even say anything else, Jaku, Umisu, and Sheina both joined him up in the air and gave him big hugs. They cried as they did so. The relief that they felt upon seeing him safe and alive was something that they weren’t going to take advantage of.
"Thank goodness...," Umisu said.
"You really had us worried there," Jaku said, lightly knocking on Zion’s head.
"You shouldn’t do that!" Umisu said to Jaku, reprimanding him for knocking on Zion’s head.
Just then, Sheina punched Zion’s head, almost leaving a visible mark.
"OWWW! What did I do?!" Zion complained to Sheina.
Then, Sheina hugged him again. "You haven’t changed at all, you little rascal."
"Can somebody please tell me what’s happening?!"
