Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 1468: Prove

Chapter 1468: Prove

"Hahahahah!" Lucy laughed. "But me... I don’t have such grudges against Seberus Augindore. Actually, I admired him. I’ve always heard about his feats and was amazed by them.

When I ascended into becoming a Mystic Master, I sought out Seberus so that I could earn his praise. Instead, he denounced me. He said that I did not deserve to be a Mystic Master, and that someone else was better than me.

And who was that? That was none other than you...

So, I blocked you too. Seberus thinks that you’re a greater wizard than me. Preposterous. He is simply blinded by his biases. He had been in that backwoods part of the country for too long, that he thinks that a mediocre talent such as yours is something that transcends everything in the Guild of Arcana.

That’s part of the reason why the other Mystic Masters hated Seberus. He always comes to the Guild praising you, telling all sorts of stories about your greatness as a wizard.

No one believed him, of course. The Mystic Masters then forbade him from talking about you ever again so that he wouldn’t sully the other minds of the wizards."

Michael’s head was down as he was in deep thought.

As it turned out, Seberus had been fighting for him this entire time. He just didn’t know it. Even if he was ostracized by his peers, even when he was forbidden by the rest of the Mystic Masters, his old friend was still singing praises about him.

Michael never felt the need to show off his talents about magic. But now, looking at Lucy’s smug face. He couldn’t help but want to show off now. He wanted to prove Seberus correct once and for all.

"Then let’s go back to the Guild of Arcana," he said to Lucy.

"What?"

"You said that I am not that powerful in magic. Why don’t we test that? We’ll have a duel in terms of magic knowledge, theory, and application."

Lucy looked at Michael, before a huge smile on his face began to curve upwards. "HAHAHAHAHA! And here I thought you were quite smart. But as it turned out, you’re even more idiotic than I thought.

Need I remind you? I am a Mystic Master. The knowledge that I have far surpasses anything that you could ever create!"

Michael simply shrugged. "Who knows? That’s why we should test it. If you win, then I will print a worldwide retracement of all my statements before. I’ll even say that the video is fake, and that you are innocent.

But if I win, you will step down as a Mystic Master."

Lucy looked at Michael, before he smiled and said. "I accept! You can’t back away now!"

It was at this point that a white magic circle appeared on the bottom of both of their feets. Then, a contract made out of light appeared, containing the words that Michael had just promised.

"Now it is in writing. Don’t escape now," Lucy said. "Follow me back to the Guild!"

Lucy disappeared into a beam of light, towards the horizon. Michael followed after him, using his Nascent Spirit Influence to propel him forwards.

He saw Lucy disappear off into the edges of reality, through the different threads of fate that were underneath the fabric of reality itself.

With lightspeed, Lucy was able to weave himself through the knots without bumping into any of them. If he did, he would quickly find himself wrapped around the threads, and be thrown into an unknown part of the universe.

Michael knew that this was a contest in and of itself. Lucy was trying to shake him off, make him get lost here on the edges of reality.

But he was testing the wrong person.

With ChatJK6 by his side, and the Quantum Step to help him traverse at lightspeed, they were able to easily track Lucy through the different dimensions.

Lucy clicked his tongue as he saw Eren following him from behind. Eventually, he turned a corner and grabbed at a certain thread in the fraying reality.

As soon as he did, he disappeared.

Michael followed after him. And as soon as he touched the thread, he was transported into a completely mystical world.

Around him was a space filled with myriads of colors splashing in the background. It was as if the skies were filled with a painter’s canvass itself.

There was no ground. Everything was filled with that prismatic space.

And floating in this void was a ginormous structure of circular rings revolving around themselves like some kind of dyson sphere.

This entire structure was as big as the moon itself!

"First time?" Lucy asked with a smile on his face. "This is the real estate of the Guild of Arcana. The one on the Royal Continent is simply a facade so that mortals can have somewhere to go. They cannot go here otherwise they’d go crazy seeing all of the mystical mysteries here."

Michael looked at the structure and saw that each of those gigantic rings contained buildings on the inside.

And using his Supreme Talent, he was able to see the Light mana signatures of many wizards.

"Take in the sights," Lucy said. "It’ll be the last time."

And with those words, Lucy disappeared off into the very center of the dyson sphere-like structure, towards the very source of light here in the Guild of Arcana.

Michael followed after him, through the sun-like object in the center.

He couldn’t see anything. Everything was blinding him.

And it was at this moment that cages suddenly appeared around him, trapping him like a bird.

Lucy appeared right in front of him, with the four other robed Mystic Masters by his side.

They looked at him with those old, aged, eyes.

"Hahahaha! I didn’t even have to do anything. He was the one who suggested we go here," bragged Lucy. "right here into our trap."

"It is unfortunate, young wizard. If you had remained at your territory, we wouldn’t be able to do anything to you. But now, you’ve come right into our territory...," said the Mystic Masters.

Michael looked at them, and inwardly smiled, not letting them see his joy.
