Chapter 1482: New body
Chapter 1482: New body
Grieve’s skeletal figure began to grow more flesh, becoming more filled out as Unity began to fill him more and more.
A sense of peace and contentment began to appear in Grieve’s face. It was as if he had been rejuvenated, given an entirely new life.
Actually, it was better than that. It was as if he had awakened from a long nap, completely new and lucid after a long time of being groggy all the time.
Eventually, a golden light enveloped Grieve’s entire body.
Then a few seconds later as his transformation finished, the light subsided.
What was left behind was a middle-aged man. A five-o’clock beard, pepper hair, and sharp features.
Michael didn’t know what Grieve looked like when he was alive. He was simply going off of what he thought Grieve would have looked like, based on his skeletal structure. It was like one of those forensic shows back in his old life when people tried to simulate what ancient humans looked like.
Soon, the power around Grieve subsided.
He opened his eyes and looked around, as if he was a newborn. He looked at his body, feeling the weight and muscles in his arms and smiled.
"YOHOHOHOHO! I am quite the muscular figure! How could I have forgotten that?!"
Grieve began to flex his muscles to everybody, showing off his new body as if he was a participant in some kind of body building competition.
"Teacher! You look cool as a human! Not as handsome as me, but good enough," said Zion.
"Yohohoho! Like teacher, like student, eh?" Grieve answered.
Michael then approached Grieve. "How do you feel?"
Grieve smiled and grabbed his shoulders. "Michael! Yohohoho! I feel wonderful!"
"Do you feel strong? Do you feel like you’ve returned to your previous strength?"
Michael could feel the power emanating off of Grieve.
The skeleton general was already powerful back when he didn’t have a body. His magic prowess as a 9-star wizard had allowed his swordsmanship to reach an extraordinary level, to the point where his Sword Intent was as natural to him as breathing.
But now, it was as if Grieve had completely levelled up completely!
Now, a new dimension of physicality had been added to his repertoire. Michael couldn’t quite explain it properly. It was as if Grieve previously had a body made out of straw. But now, it was made out of Mithril Artifact.
Just swinging his sword would produce a tremendous shockwave, purely from swordsmanship alone.
"Hmmm... I have maybe reached 1% of my previous power," said Grieve. "Yohohoho! But I’m not really sure what’s missing..."
Michael was quite surprised after hearing that. Only 1%? How strong was he originally?
Although, it makes sense. Right now, he is basically just a wizard. He could still become a Maugnetic as well. People in the Ancient times had no distinction between a wizard and a Maugnetic.
After all, now that Grieve had gained a new body, it was very much possible for him to gain a Diva of his own, and possible upgrade that to have a Nascent Armor.
That was why he asked Grieve if he felt as if he had returned to his peak state, back when he was a general.
"Do you remember things now?"
"Yohoho! I certainly do! I have a brain now, yohohoho!" Grieve answered joyfully. "I remember training my sword, swinging it for a million times before I achieved mastery over it."
Surprisingly, it seemed that Grieve remembered things about his cultivation, rather than his past history.
Although Michael would have liked it if Grieve was able to tell him the lost facet of history, this was also good enough.
After all, this was exactly what he needed. A veteran teacher to teach the newbies!
"What do you think of our officers?"
Grieve looked at everyone. He raised his eyebrows at the Dragonborns, nodded approvingly at the Shadow Orcs, and gave Kong a sideways glance of curiosity.
"Were they as powerful as the people back in the olden days?"
"No. Definitely not. A low general from that time could sweep everyone here without shedding a single drop of sweat," Grieve said. "But they do have potential."
Michael was glad to hear that. "Can you teach them?"
Of course, Michael could do that himself. He could apply the things he learned in his cultivation in order to help everyone become better as a Nascent Spirit cultivator.
But that would meant that they would be accustomed to the current style of power.
This was a rare chance in which everyone could start from scratch and learn the true path in becoming a Nascent Spirit cultivator, from someone who had experienced the Ancient Era himself!
"Yohohoho! I may not know my own past, but I do remember how it feels to train maggots till they learned how to fly," Grieve said. "I shall start with you, young one."
"Me?!" Zion asked, alarmed.
"Yes. You are in dire need of some strict training."
"I agree," said Sheina. "But before we go off on training... Lord Michael? Shall we give out the instructions?"
Michael nodded. "Yes. Right now, each and every one of you will be in charge of a specific territory in Reborn.
You will be responsible from protecting it from harm, both physical and spiritual. You must learn how to use your Nascent Influence in order to protect the territory from other Nascent Influences.
This is important because our opponents are no longer the small fishes that we’ve faced before. Now, we’ll be tussling with the sharks.
And for them, using Nascent Influence is as basic as swinging a sword. We’ll quickly find ourselves out of sorts if we are not able to match them in Influences."
It was at this point that Sheina began to distribute pages to each of the Rays of Reborn.
It detailed the Territory they were in charge of, and their subsequent details.
"Kingsbridge Town?" Zion complained. "Why don’t I get something more important, like Angora City?!"
"Nation of Reborn..." Kong muttered, aghast. "I have to manage our Nation?!"
