Chapter 2661: Chapter 2661: Her Daughter Could Not Wake Up

"Sister Yu Qi... Sister Yu Qi... Where did you go for so long?"

"Yeah... Yeah... Where did you go?"

"Did you go to see your boyfriend?" One little girl asked with a mischievous grin.

"Yeah. We did not see that tall, handsome man anymore."

"Where is he?"

"Did Sister Yu Qi already break up with him?"

As soon as Yu Qi stepped out of the vehicle, she was immediately swarmed by the curious children. She nearly choked on her own saliva when she heard the bluntness of their questions. Children nowadays really seemed to mature far too quickly if they were already asking prying questions about her love life.

Yu Qi patiently answered their questions one by one, trying to keep a straight face. The children nodded seriously, listening to her explanations as if they were attending an incredibly important academic lecture.

Grandpa Mu, who had been standing nearby and listening to the exchange, suddenly burst into hearty laughter.

"The children are so curious about everything under the sun. It seems even your love story was not spared from their interrogation." Grandpa Mu said to Yu Qi after the children had finally satisfied their curiosity and let her go.

"Yeah... They certainly don’t hold back." Yu Qi laughed as well, shaking her head.

"Have you dealt with your work at the greenhouse?" Grandpa Mu asked, turning the conversation back to the day’s events.

"Yes. It should have taken only a short while, but something else unexpected came up afterwards, so I went to handle that matter too." Yu Qi replied, keeping her answer vague to avoid worrying him with the details of the kidnapping she had stumbled upon.

"I see. I understand," Grandpa Mu nodded, not thinking much of her secrecy.

Grandpa Mu assumed Yu Qi had simply been handling routine business complications. After all, unexpected situations were perfectly normal in the world of commerce.

"Have you eaten lunch yet, Grandpa?" Yu Qi asked caringly.

"Hmm... I ate a very nice meal with the children earlier." Grandpa Mu nodded with a satisfied smile.

"I am glad to hear that. Well... if you are ready, let’s return to Saisei Ryokan now." Yu Qi stated, gesturing toward the car.

Yu Qi made her way toward the greenhouse to fetch Grandpa Tang, knowing full well that the elderly man would never agree to leave willingly unless she stepped in and firmly insisted. As she had accurately predicted, she found him completely enthralled, his entire focus poured into the study of the rare and exotic herbs.

"Grandpa Tang, let’s head back now so we can rest before our return to FINN City tomorrow. I will personally instruct one of my staff members to prepare the specific plants you have taken an interest in, so you can cultivate them in your own garden at home." Yu Qi suggested warmly.

Upon hearing this, Grandpa Tang’s face immediately lit up with genuine delight.

"Really? You mean I can take these with me?" Grandpa Tang asked, his eyes wide as he sought confirmation of her generosity.

"Hmm... Of course. Why should I lie to you?" Yu Qi nodded with a gentle smile.

Without wasting a single second, Grandpa Tang began pointing excitedly at several rare specimens he wished to take home. Yu Qi called over one of the greenhouse staff members and gave them detailed instructions to carefully prepare and package the exact plants Grandpa Tang had selected. Finally, after he was satisfied with his choices, they departed the greenhouse and returned to the Saisei Ryokan Hotel.

....

Meanwhile, Sang Yuling arrived at the nearest hospital to check in Ji Gu Niang. After the attending physician reviewed the medical notes provided by the clinic doctor, he immediately set to work, beginning a thorough examination of Ji Gu Niang’s unresponsive state.

Sang Yuling insisted on staying by her daughter’s side throughout the entire process, her maternal anxiety reaching a boiling point. However, the nurse on duty stepped in and told her firmly that she needed to go outside to the waiting area.

Sang Yuling’s temper flared instantly, consumed by a mix of fear and anger, she roughly pushed the nurse aside to force her way deeper into the room. The doctor was forced to intervene immediately when he saw his nurse was about to be shoved a second time.

"Ma’am, please try to calm down. You must go outside and wait. You are currently interfering with our medical work and hindering our ability to help your daughter." The doctor said, his voice carrying a sharp, undeniable authority.

Sang Yuling frowned deeply as she listened to the doctor’s stern command. While she did not care in the slightest about the nurse’s feelings, she knew deep down that she could not afford to offend the doctor. After all, he was the only one who might have the power to save her daughter’s life.

With no other choice, Sang Yuling reluctantly retreated to the hallway to wait. The doctor remained with Ji Gu Niang for a long time, and as the hours dragged on, Sang Yuling found herself nearly falling asleep several times. She was utterly exhausted, both physically and emotionally, after the harrowing events of the day. In the silence of the waiting room, a heavy, suffocating sense of regret began to take hold of her.

She vividly recalled what Yu Qi had said earlier in the day. Master Chunwei had intended for that malevolent, horrible creature to take over her daughter’s body, and she, as a mother, had been the one who blindly allowed the ritual to proceed. If Yu Qi had not arrived and disrupted that dark ceremony, that terrible entity might very well be inhabiting her daughter’s body at this very moment.
