Chapter 300: Choosing A Car
"Forget about that! I am more interested in the race. Tell me more about it!" Danny immediately cuts off Adam and his plan to get Danny laid.
Seeing the enthusiasm in Danny’s eyes, Adam pauses for a second and smiles.
"Sure, I just found that it’s an illegal race that’s held every year in the city; the winner gets to walk away with millions of dollars," Adam says.
"How much exactly?" Danny asks.
"If one manages to win all major races, over 300 million dollars," Adam replies.
As soon as Danny hears the number, he sucks in some cold air through the gaps of his teeth.
Even though he is the son of a billionaire, 300 million dollars is still a lot for him.
"Dude, this sounds way more serious than I thought," Danny says.
"Of course, it is, the people organizing these races are proper bigshots, I won’t be surprised if some politicians are in on this as well," Adam says.
"Sounds dangerous, are you sure you want to participate in it?" Danny asks.
"It’s free money, why would I not take it?" Adam says with a confident smile on his face.
"You sound like you have already won," Danny says in awe, as he wonders if Adam’s just bluffing and overconfident, or if he really believes he is going to win it all.
"Because I know I am going to win," Adam says, folding his arms.
"Are you being serious?" Danny asks.
"I wouldn’t be saying it if I didn’t believe it. I don’t have a fetish for humiliation," Adam says.
"Dude, that’s awesome," Danny says.
"Anyways, that’s why I came here, to borrow a car fast enough for me to race. Even though I have all the skills in the world, my car’s not powerful enough to win me these races.
You can use this to boost your money as well in the process," Adam suggests.
"How?" Danny asks.
"You can bet on races. Just bet on me, and I promise you will walk out with more money than you have right now," Adam says.
"Cool, then let’s go down to my garage and select a car for you!" Danny says, jumping off his chair and rushing out of his room.
Adam watched as Danny rushed out on his own, only for him to peek in and look at Adam with an eager gaze. "What are you waiting for? Come on!" He says, asking Adam to join him.
Adam gets up and follows Danny out of his room as they head downstairs.
Adam didn’t expect it would be so easy for him to convince Danny to let him borrow his car. After all, it’s a supercar that was produced in a limited number, and during races the possibility of damages are very real.
He had prepared a whole speech on his skills and ability, maybe even demonstrate it to Danny to show that he can really win the race, little did he expect that Danny would immediately agree to it.
After walking through the massive mansion, Danny escorts Adam to the back. Walking outside, he sees more open fields filled with greenery and gardens full of rare flowers, which are being worked on by a few gardeners.
In the midst of all this, a path leads to different buildings within the vicinity.
Adam thought that the mansion already was huge, and now he sees that there is more to Danny’s property than just the mansion; there is a huge space behind the mansion dedicated to other buildings. And who knows what they hold.
Danny walks up to an electric vehicle that looks like a custom golf cart and gets in.
"Come on," He says, inviting Adam in. Adam joins him inside the cart.
Danny begins to drive. The pathway from the mansion to the large building that Danny is driving towards is so long that they have to use an electric cart to move around.
"I am so excited to show you my collection. I am sure you will find something that will be suitable to your taste and help you win it all," Danny says.
Adam realizes that Danny’s not just going to let him borrow his supercar, but he is going to let Adam choose from his collection, which Adam had no idea about.
But then again, Danny’s the son of a billionaire; the chances of him owning multiple supercars are very high.
The electric cart stops before a massive building that looks like an aircraft hangar, big enough to keep jets inside.
Stepping out of the cart, Danny walks up to the scanner next to the massive gate and presses his hand to register his biometric. With his prints verified, the massive hangar gate starts to open, slowly rolling onto itself to reveal the toys that it’s hiding.
As the massive gate lifts up, the lights inside the hangar turn on.
Adam waits patiently until the gates are open enough for him to see what’s inside, and when he sees the contents behind the gate, his mind goes blank for a second because he can’t believe the collection that’s in front of him.
Cars that he has only seen in advertisements and movies, so expensive and so rare that people are afraid to drive them around.
Super cars, hyper cars, luxury cars, one-of-one custom cars, limited edition cars, cars designed by companies coming together to create something unique, Adam has never seen anything like this before.
Just the collection of cars inside this hangar should be in the upper hundred millions and maybe even reach a billion.
"Go ahead, pick one," Danny says.
Adam looks at Danny, opens his mouth to say something, but stops. Instead, he walks in and starts walking past one car after another, checking them out.
"Are these all yours?" Adam asks.
"Most of it is mine. I love cars. I collect the ones I like," Danny says. "But some belong to my family, my father and mother use them," Danny says.
Adam feels like a kid in a chocolate factory, even though he doesn’t want to show it on his face, he is getting excited over seeing all of these rare and unique cars in one place.
Seeing this makes him want to own something similar as well. To have his own car collection that costs upwards of a billion dollars, and Adam’s going to make sure that it happens.
As he looks around, he realizes that Danny truly is a car lover because his collection doesn’t just have expensive, flashy-looking cars, no. Some of them are vintage, some old school, a few muscle cars, there is even a beat-up looking car that looks like it was taken straight from a junk yard, but when Adam checks it out, he realizes that it’s one of those super rare rugged cars that were used in the world war by soldiers of the Federation.
Danny really is a hard-core collector, whether it is cars, games, or other media memorabilia, he has them all.
"Have you found one that you like?" Danny asks eagerly, as he wants to know what car Adam will use to race. Danny has many suggestions in his mind; after all, he grew up watching the Furiously Fast franchise and is in love with every car that was used in those movies.
He hopes that Adam picks one of them to race, which would allow him to live those intense moments from the movies in real.
Adam doesn’t answer. He looks around. He has a few criteria that the car needs to meet. First and foremost, it needs to be a beast, with enough horsepower and torque for him to drive through any situation. It also needs to have amazing handling, which will allow him to attack the corners like a surgeon.
Soon, his eyes fall on a red car, parked amongst other supercars.
His eyes shine with a flash of excitement.
"This is the one," Adam says as he looks at the beauty before him.
Angular, aerodynamic, designed to cut through the air like a scalpel. This thing before him has everything that he needs.

"Amazing choice..." Danny says as he too takes in the beauty of the car before his eyes. On top of that, he is also very happy that Adam chose this one because it’s one of the cars that was heavily featured in the latest Furiously Fast movie.
He bought this car very recently after falling in love with how it looked in the movies. He can’t wait to see Adam drive this thing in a real, illegal street race.
"Do you have the keys? Let me take it for a ride, get a feel of it," Adam says.
"Give me a second," Danny says, and rushes towards his keyholder to grab the key. He soon comes back with a premium key in hand and hands it over to Adam.
Adam opens the car and gets in. As he steps in, he can still smell the scent of a new car lingering inside, making him realize that this thing has barely been used.
For an extreme hypercar, its interior is extremely luxurious as well.
He slides the key in the keyholder and turns the car on.
It rumbles, shaking Adam to his core.
