"H-Hahaha, that was so long ago..." he said with a warm chuckle. "We've all had to grow up, you know? We couldn't stay as just kids forever... Well, except for you I guess?"

"I'm not a kid!" I said angrily, playfully biting his nose.

"Agh!" he cried out. "Is this how you greet your friend?!"

"Hehehe, sorry!" I said, kissing his forehead gently. "How long has it been? I've missed you ever since you left, Zack!"

"C-Come on now..." he felt embarrassed, his cheeks turning slightly red. "It has been that long I suppose. It's kind of awkward to finally meet you properly. When I got here it was a huge battle and... well, we didn't have any moment to speak. Then you fell unconscious for two weeks! You think I have that much patience? I really wanted to talk with my best friend, but after two weeks all that energy kind of disappeared..."

"S-Sorry!" I cried, hugging him tightly once again. "But for real, you're really tall! Aren't you taller than Aquarina now?"

"I guess I am!" he sneered proudly at Aquarina. "I'm the biggest of the group now! Hahaha!" he laughed boisterously, his voice full of playful energy.

"He keeps reminding us about his height every time he can," Aquarina rolled her eyes with clear annoyance. "Good to know that he's still as annoying as always!"

"Eeh? Look who's talking! You also haven't changed one bit. I bet you're jealous Sylphy is hugging me right now," Zack said while still holding me securely in his arms.

"Don't be jealous! Zack is like a brother to me!" I giggled happily, kissing his face again. "Plus he's super handsome now!"

"Hmph!" Aquarina groaned. "E-Enough, we're grownups now. We shouldn't be acting all so close... it's weird! Set some boundaries, Zack!"

"I don't really mind her. We're friends," he shrugged casually, kissing my cheek back in return.

"..." Mist appeared by his side and looked at him with soft puppy eyes, silently expressing her own feelings.

"Ah... Well, yeah it's better to not get too touchy," Zack sighed, gently letting me go and placing his hand around Mist's waist instead. "Anyway! Yeah, we've got lots to talk about. Hey Luck, come talk to her!"

"S-Sorry!" Luck ran toward me with a bright smile. "Hey Sylphy, been a while!"

Luck was also so gorgeous now. He stood tall and slender yet clearly muscular, with warm tanned skin, longer golden-brown hair that was almost blonde, and bright emerald eyes that shone with life. His long fluffy tail and soft ears looked especially endearing.

"Luck, you're so fluffy!"

I used my wings and flew straight toward him, wrapping him in a tight hug as well.

"Sylphy...! Hahaha, you've got wings, wow!" he laughed with genuine delight. "Like they say, you're a fairy? Well, to me it's more like you're a butterfly beast-kin. Do they exist, I wonder?"

"Maybe?" I wondered aloud with a small laugh. "Pfff, what are you even talking about anyway?"

"S-Sorry, I talk nonsense when I'm nervous or don't know what to say. It's been a while and... as Zack said, it's a little awkward," he nodded honestly. "But I want to reconnect as well. I haven't forgotten you nor anybody else, and I still hold everyone here in my heart, because you're all my friends. You helped us avenge our tribe and everything..."

"Y-Yeah..." I muttered softly, feeling a warm emotion rise in my chest. "Well... The trial must have been really hard. You guys really grew big and strong...!"

"It was indeed rather tiring to go through," another figure stepped forward gracefully.

This one was like seeing a beautiful goddess in person. She had charcoal black skin covered in elegant white tattoos resembling wild beasts, and she wore accessories made of bones and fangs. Her long black hair was tied into thick dreads, and a large beast skull decorated with colorful feathers rested ceremoniously upon her head.
