Chapter 399: SECRETS REVEALED II
Chapter 399: SECRETS REVEALED II
Nebulae hung in perfect, deliberate patterns, vast spirals of violet, emerald, and molten gold arranged like brushstrokes on the canvas of eternity.
They did not drift chaotically; they danced in slow, choreographed harmony, forming shapes that almost suggested architecture on a cosmic scale.
Thor’s voice came next, hushed with wonder.
"Where is this place?"
Aaron turned, arms spread slightly as though presenting a long-kept secret.
"This? Welcome to the Sanctuary. An independent space, not anchored to any universe. A pocket of existence... controlled entirely by me."
Rhaigon’s brow furrowed deeper.
"What does that even mean? And how is that even possible?"
Aaron shrugged, the motion almost boyish.
"It’s possible because it’s me."
Loki’s mind was already racing, pieces snapping together with terrifying clarity.
"Wait... Sanctuary. You mean the Sanctuary? The one every pantheon, every ancient order, has been searching for? The one everyone believes was lost,.erased beyond the borders of this universe?"
Aaron nodded once.
"Yes. Indeed."
Ignis’s breath caught.
"Then that means you have a chance of resurrecting—"
A cold voice sliced through the words like a blade through silk.
"Why do I smell the blood of gods and dragons?"
The group turned as one.
A tall figure approached through the soft nebula-glow.
Black cloak billowing gently in a breeze that did not exist.
Skin pale as moonlit marble. Long black hair framing a face carved from timeless hunger.
Crimson eyes burned with quiet, ancient amusement.
"Dracula..." Thor breathed, shock rippling through his massive frame.
Aaron’s smile returned, easy, familiar.
"Old man. You’re here faster than I anticipated."
Dracula’s gaze slid over the newcomers, assessing, weighing.
"What are they doing here? Are they perhaps... invading?"
He allowed the faintest thread of his aura to uncoil, enough that the air thickened, gravity itself seeming to lean toward him.
Loki and the others tensed instantly, weapons half-drawn, stances shifting into battle-ready lines.
Aaron raised both hands, laughing softly.
"Relax. Relax. They’re here with me. Besides, I already sired them. No need to get all worked up."
Dracula’s crimson eyes narrowed.
"Hmm? Sire them?"
"Yeah." Aaron’s tone was light, almost teasing. "They don’t pose a threat, gramps. We have a connection now. And I think I’ll need them alive more than dead."
Dracula studied Aaron for a long moment, then slowly drew his aura back in.
"How is it possible that you sired them? It should not have been possible."
Aaron’s grin turned faintly wicked.
"Well... it is to me. I’m different, after all."
"Arrogant boy," Dracula muttered, though there was no real heat in it.
He turned, cloak whispering against the unseen floor, and began to walk away into the nebula-lit distance, deciding that was far better than listening to the arrogant words of Aaron.
Aaron watched him go, smile lingering.
Rhaigon’s voice was quiet, almost reverent.
"You resurrected Dracula already. I wonder how the Sovereigns will feel when they find out."
Loki barked a laugh, loud and delighted.
"Definitely won’t be pretty. The old bastards will panic, start preparing for war the second they realize."
Thor’s expression turned thoughtful.
"But more than that... have you guys not noticed something odd?"
Ignis glanced at him.
"What’s that?"
"Most places in the Sanctuary block my senses completely," Thor said slowly.
"But after pushing... I could finally map it out. The size of this place? It’s the size of a galactic cluster."
Aaron’s smile sharpened, satisfied.
That was exactly what he’d wanted them to discover on their own.
Rhaigon blinked.
"And how does that affect us?"
Loki’s eyes lit up with sudden understanding.
"The missing galactic cluster. The one everyone calls the Celestial Devourer." He turned to Aaron, grin wide and wild.
"We just found the culprit. So easily."
Aaron spread his hands in mock innocence.
"Bingo."
The truth settled over them like a mantle, cold, thrilling, and irreversible.
Loki laughed again, the sound rich and unrestrained.
"Crazy guy. And yet he joined our ranks, played the part, and acted right under our noses the whole time."
He shook his head in genuine admiration.
Then his voice dropped, the laughter fading into something quieter, more serious.
"What happens... when you get caught?"
"Simple," Aaron said, the word falling from his lips like a quiet promise. "I don’t plan on ever getting caught."
He let the statement hang for a heartbeat, allowing the weight of it to settle over the four of them.
His eyes, yet unmistakably his own gleamed with calm certainty.
"That’s where you all come in," he continued, voice low and deliberate.
"You’ll be helping me create a credible alibi. Something unbreakable."
Loki tilted his head, a faint, intrigued smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"And you think we can do that... how, exactly?"
"Simple again." Aaron’s gaze drifted across each face, Thor’s steady blue, Loki’s sharp green, Ignis’s flickering amber, Rhaigon’s molten gold.
"Just stay close to me from now on. Be seen with me. While I’m supposedly right there with you, the Celestial Devourer will strike. No one will question where I was."
He paused, letting the plan take shape in their minds.
"I’ll also need information from you," he added.
"Vital details. Movements. Weaknesses. Anything that helps me move unseen and strike precisely."
Thor’s brow furrowed slightly, arms crossing over his broad chest.
The new fangs glinted faintly when he spoke.
"And the abilities? The method? How do you ensure no one, nothing can identify you when the attack happens?"
Aaron’s smile was small, almost indulgent.
"Leave that part to me. I’ll handle every layer of it. Disguise. Signature. Trace. All of it."
He straightened, the air around him seeming to thicken with quiet anticipation.
"Now," he said, "shall we return?"
Loki let out a short, humorless laugh, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Yeah. Staying in the same space as Dracula for one more second scares me more than anything right now. Please. Send us back before I start screaming."
The others shared a brief, silent glance, agreement flickering between them like shared lightning.
Aaron raised one hand.
Dark energy gathered at his fingertips, cool and liquid, swirling into a perfect vertical tear in reality.
The edges shimmered violet and black, whispering with the sound of distant wind through ancient halls.
"After you," he murmured.
One by one, they stepped through.
Aaron watched them disappear, the smile never quite leaving his face.
Then he stepped through himself.
The rift snapped shut behind him with a soft, final sigh.
They emerged back into the Sovereign world, within the room exactly where they had left.
The group stood in a loose circle, breathing in the familiar atmosphere, feeling the new weight of their shared secret settle over them like a second skin.
Loki exhaled dramatically, rolling his shoulders. "Well. That was... enlightening."
