Chapter 549 549: FINALLY HERE
Chapter 549 549: FINALLY HERE
"Son. Daughter. You! What are you doing?" the Emperor asked, his heart pounding wildly as fresh fear surged through him.
"Nothing much, Emperor," Aaron replied with a smile. "I just feel like it might be hungry. How about I feed it for a bit?"
"Wait. You don't mean to…" the Emperor could not finish the sentence. Dread choked his voice.
"Oh, I do, Emperor," Aaron said coldly. "It must be fun being fed on, right? I believe those people who died were laughing while it fed on them."
"Don't do this!" the Emperor pleaded desperately. "Let us go! I can offer you wealth. No—I can grant you the title of Emperor. I have ties with people from higher realms!"
His voice cracked with raw panic as he begged in every way he knew.
"Slime. Feed," Aaron gave the order.
"Cuuu!" the slime replied excitedly.
It moved with surprising speed and swallowed the prince in one single gulp.
The Emperor froze. He watched his son disappear just like that. His heart turned ice-cold as he stared at Aaron with pure hatred.
"You feel it now, don't you?" Aaron said coldly. "You finally understand what went through your victims' minds. The thought 'I wish he would die. I wish I could kill him.' The hatred. The despair. It's slowly hitting you, right? But sadly, you can't do much to me. Because unlike you, I have absolute strength."
The slime moved to the next target. It feasted on the princess.
Then it took the Emperor's wife.
One by one, the Emperor watched the slime devour his loved ones until no one was left.
By then he was already broken, his will to live completely shattered.
"Kill me," the Emperor muttered, his eyes hollow and empty.
"Of course I will," Aaron smiled. "But not an easy death."
He reached out and pulled the Emperor's soul free from his body.
Then he sent the Emperor through the Samsara Gate.
Within the soul realm, Aaron had already created a special place.
It was a cold, endless void where the Emperor's soul would meet the vengeful spirits of the few deceased he had managed to capture before their souls fully dissipated.
There, the Emperor's soul would suffer an eternity of revenge. The angry spirits would tear into him again and again, never allowing rest or escape.
"Now. That's the only anomaly, and that's well taken care of," Aaron muttered, his voice calm and satisfied.
The slime shrank down to a much smaller size. It hopped lightly onto Aaron's shoulder, now completely obedient.
"You plan to leave now, right?" Lin Guo asked, stepping closer once the entire ordeal had finally ended.
"Yeah," Aaron replied. "The tournament has elevated your sect. It has moved to true prominence. I have no further need within this realm. I need to finish the rest of my revenge and gain more strength."
Lin Guo nodded in quiet understanding.
"Thank you. For everything," he said, bowing his head deeply with sincere gratitude.
Aaron accepted the thanks without a word. He then turned and moved toward Shen Lingxue.
"Stay here for a while and grow stronger," Aaron told the little girl gently. "When you are strong enough, chase after me."
"As for the thing inside you, it won't bother you for the time being," he added. "So train to your heart's content."
Shen Lingxue nodded, her eyes filled with quiet determination. She thanked Aaron softly, along with the rest of the disciples who stood nearby.
Nodding once, Aaron stepped away and appeared among the other sect leaders.
"I believe I don't need to remind you all of what can go wrong if you guys try anything funny," he informed the group, his tone carrying clear warning.
"Yes," they all chorused, fear thick in their voices.
"Good. Then I'm off," Aaron said with a small smile.
Finally, he allowed the realm to expel him from the lower realm.
Soon, Aaron found himself standing within the second realm.
Of course, none of them knew that Aaron had devoured the lowest realm entirely, quietly adding it to his sanctuary.
"The second realm," Aaron muttered. "Still subpar, but better than the last."
"You are finally here," a powerful being approached Aaron, stopping directly in front of him. "I have been waiting for ages."
The figure stood battle-ready, aura sharp and ready for conflict.
"Great. A battle partner," Aaron smiled.
---
Vault remained in a deep meditation state inside the tomb of heavenly and demonic beings.
He meditated from time to time while patiently waiting for the person he was supposed to kill.
While deep in meditation, he suddenly felt the presence of his target.
The aura matched the description given to him perfectly by the one with the mystic brain.
Immediately, Vault shot out from the vault. He moved with lightning speed to intercept the newcomer, fully battle-ready.
Vault stood before the being, a young man with a strikingly beautiful face, eyes that shone like the vast universe itself, and flowing white hair.
"You are finally here," Vault said, his voice steady. "I have been waiting for ages."
The young man, Aaron, smiled as he stared at Vault. An intrigued look filled his eyes.
"Are you part of the demonic cult?" Aaron asked calmly.
"I'm not," Vault replied flatly.
"Strange," Aaron continued. "Then what do you want with me? And how do you know me?"
"If I kill you, she will be brought back to life," Vault said coldly. "I have to kill you."
He gripped a scary-looking sword tightly in his hand, its blade radiating dark menace.
"Who wants me dead?" Aaron asked, his tone still relaxed.
"The holder of the mystic brain," Vault explained.
Without another word, Vault moved swiftly. He lunged forward with deadly speed, sword raised for a killing strike.
But before the blade could land, he stopped abruptly, just an inch away from Aaron.
"You have demon blood," Aaron said with a confident smile. "There's no way you can hurt me."
"Don't you dare underestimate me!" Vault roared in fury.
He threw a powerful punch that Aaron never saw coming.
Gbam!!!
The impact was massive. Aaron caught the fist mid-air.
A violent shockwave exploded outward, spreading destruction through the surrounding area.
"Relax," Aaron said, still smiling. "Stop being an impatient young man."
