Chapter 583 583: DEVOURING THE PRIMORDIAL REALM
Chapter 583 583: DEVOURING THE PRIMORDIAL REALM
"So what other choice do you think you have, genius?" Aaron asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Fine," Aetherion agreed after a long pause.
"We go with your plan. It's in our best interests to fight the Transcendents together."
"Our? No, please, you're getting it wrong," Aaron corrected bluntly.
"It's in your best interest. Not ours."
"So, like I asked," he continued, "how much control do you have over the Primordial realm?"
"Seventy percent," Aetherion answered.
"The other thirty percent belongs to the Primordial King. But after his light battle with Chen Mo, he won't be interfering in any of our plans."
"That's perfect," Aaron replied, a satisfied glint in his eyes.
It was a win-win for him.
He could sort out the problem of the Primordial beings while freely devouring the realm to boost his own strength.
Aaron believed it would be more than enough to push his rank close to absolute.
With the go-ahead from Aetherion, Aaron began devouring the Primordial realm.
It was a slow, grueling ordeal.
The realm was vast beyond measure, and what he was attempting required every ounce of his focus and power.
It took an entire day for him to devour just one-tenth of it.
On the second day, things were no longer peaceful.
The Primordial Wardens arrived in force, their presence filling the air with heavy, oppressive energy.
"Aaron Highborn!" the lead warden declared, voice booming across the realm.
"You are committing the highest level of treason by trying to devour the Primordial realm. Your extermination will be carried out now!"
"I won't be able to multitask right now," Aaron shouted to those around him, never taking his focus off the devouring process.
"I need everything within me to devour this Primordial realm. So I need help to deal with them."
"On it!" Aetherion replied without hesitation, stepping forward into the fray.
"Primordials!" Aetherion called out, his voice ringing with power and conviction as he addressed the realm.
"We have been offered a chance to be free of this captivity and finally ascend! But it is not an easy task. The very ones who placed us in this prison will not let us go without a fight. So I plead with all of you, join us! Help us fend off the Primordial Wardens!"
With Aetherion's passionate speech, most of the Primordials armed themselves without hesitation.
They joined the defense, ready to fight for their freedom.
It was an easy decision for nearly all of them.
After stagnating for thousands of years, the promise of finally moving forward and ascending was too powerful to ignore.
The Primordial Wardens, numbering in the hundreds, were soon forced backward by the surging tide of Primordial defenders.
The air crackled with raw power as the realm's ancient inhabitants fought with desperate fury.
Aaron lent his strength without hesitation.
The devouring slime, Flameborn, and Abyss joined the fray, turning the battlefield into a chaotic storm of shadows, flames, and relentless hunger.
At first, the Primordials were winning.
They overpowered the Wardens with ease, cutting them down in waves and pushing the invaders back across the shattered landscape.
But on the fifth day, everything changed.
The Primordials were brutally reminded why the Wardens were feared across every realm.
They were near infinite.
They never ended.
For every Warden slain, two more arrived, pouring through fresh rifts like an unstoppable flood.
By the ninth day, the number of Primordial defenders had been cut in half.
Many had fled in panic, leaving the battlefield littered with the fallen and the air thick with the scent of defeat.
"Damn it! How much longer, Aaron?" Aetherion called out, his voice strained.
"We need a bit more help here!"
He stood as the last line of defense, locked in combat with several powerful Wardens at once, his body battered but unyielding.
"I'm close!" Aaron shouted back, excitement threading through his words.
"And I can finally get a little more involved in this war!"
A cheat method to infinitely increase his strength, who would want to miss that?
[But you do know there is no such thing as a cheat method, right?]
The system's voice halted Aaron's thoughts mid-flow.
"Of course. The nerfing police is back," Aaron muttered in displeasure, a faint scowl crossing his face.
He quickly created a clone to continue devouring the realm, freeing his real body for battle.
With fresh excitement blazing in his eyes, Aaron moved.
He seized the first Primordial Warden by the neck, snapped it with a sharp crack, and devoured the body whole.
Then he went for the second, and the third, moving like a storm through the enemy lines.
Aaron continued devouring them one after another, pushing himself to the absolute peak of the Primordial realm without quite breaking through.
"Just a little more… just a little more!" he roared, the hunger in his voice echoing across the battlefield.
He knew the final push he needed would come from the very Primordial realm he was still consuming.
On the tenth day, an Absolute finally appeared after the Wardens had failed to stop the rebellion.
"You lot have become so bold as to openly challenge us," the Absolute declared, his voice booming like thunder across the entire battlefield.
The words froze the fighting for a heartbeat.
"Now, I will end the life of every single one of you!"
Aetherion stared at the towering figure, a look of utter defeat settling into his eyes.
None of them could hope to defeat an Absolute.
To him, the battle was already over.
"Ha. Jokes on you, you came just too late," Aaron's mocking voice rang out, cutting through the despair like a blade.
The words instantly lifted the spirits of the remaining Primordials, sparking fresh hope where none had existed moments before.
Aetherion turned toward Aaron, a satisfied look beginning to form on his face.
"Aaron… your face…" Aetherion called out in sudden worry, his voice faltering.
Aaron's expression had changed completely.
Aetherion had never seen him like this — not once.
No one had.
Not even Flameborn had witnessed such raw, burning anger on his father's face.
