Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1052: Hundred Ghost’s Assistance

Chapter 1052: Hundred Ghost’s Assistance

Although Natasha expected a peace talk wouldn’t be easy to succeed, she didn’t expect the Vanguard Guild to be extremely sly.

Rather than outright rejecting her request, they decided to postpone the peace talk and gave a logical reason as an excuse.

To summarize this sly action, it meant that they couldn’t do anything about it to criticize or even attempt some sabotage.

The Illuminati had already caused many first-rate guilds to be wary of them.

So if news were to spread that they were committing sabotage or attempting to ruin an upstart guild, then such publicity would easily invoke public anger.

There was a limit to how much one could act overbearing in the Divine World. Not even the Reaver Guild dared to be overbearing against multiple organizations and people in the early stages either. They only dared to throw their weight into their specific territory and expand a little bit.

"This is why I said not to mess with them for the time being!" Gao Zhong harrumphed and leaned on his chair. "This upstart guild is like an unkillable cockroach. You can try to step on them, but they will retaliate in a fierce manner."

"Even the Super Guild Lethal Corp failed to accomplish anything and was forced to mind their own business." Hundred Ghost clamored, clearly supporting Gao Zhong’s statement in full with evidence.

When the other higher-ups noticed Hundred Ghost was taking the spotlight to support Gao Zhong again, their facial complexion turned ugly.

Once again, they failed to take the limelight in time and lost the initiative to Hundred Ghost.

With Hundred Ghost’s timely assistance, Natasha found herself being stuck in a deja vu situation.

’This wastrel’s speech is so similar to Nathan’s. Are the two related?’ Not once had Natasha forgotten about the interaction with Nathan. She was just beyond frustrated when she failed to investigate any information regarding Nathan.

It was as if he was hidden from the public eye and only showed up to humiliate or insult her.

"Whatever, fix this town or leave it to rot. I don’t care anymore." Natasha rolled her eyes and made an ultimatum. "Just know that if you fail to salvage the situation, you can forget about being involved in the upcoming plans."

Having said her piece, she left the meeting room, not giving them any chance to respond.

Sometime later, Gao Zhong’s eyes flared up after she was gone. He quickly slammed and kicked every object nearby.

"Fuck that slut!" He cursed loudly and glared at the other members in the room.

"All of you received a high salary, but none of you except Hundred Ghost can assist me. What’s the point of paying you lots?" He then questioned coldly.

"And you, Jason. I’ve entrusted most of the funding for you to allocate in the town, but now we’re in a severe deficit. You better give me a good reason in 3 days and solutions to salvage it. Also, you are no longer in charge of the elite teams. Hundred Ghost will take over them!"

"But—" Jason was stunned by the news and wanted to argue, but was unfortunately cut off.

"Do you want to take off your guild emblem instead?" Gao Zhong hissed.

"N-No... Guild Leader." Jason could only lower his head and accept the arrangement no matter how much resentment and reluctance he held.

Once the scolding was completed, Gao Zhong’s expression alleviated slightly when he turned to Hundred Ghost.

"You did well today." Gao Zhong patted his shoulder and promptly made his exit.

Meanwhile, Hundred Ghost bowed 90 degrees to pay his respect for Gao Zhong’s exit, completely assuming the role of a bootlicker to the max.

"I will not disappoint you, Guild Leader." He exclaimed loudly.

A few minutes later, Hundred Ghost straightened his back and stared at Jason.

"I’m really a busy man, but the Guild Leader has said his piece. I expect all the information to arrive by my desk before the end of the day."

Hearing the gleeful tone, Jason clenched his fist secretly. And with a forced smile, he nodded. "Rest assured, I make sure the information is stacked to the brim for you to browse."

Soon, everyone in the room left. The meeting was honestly a formality for someone to be scolded and reprimanded harshly.

Only a fool would believe a mere meeting room could resolve their current predicament.

Who would want to come to a dead town?

Back at a tavern in the room, Hundred Ghost’s face was full of smiles as he opened his message.

’Hehe, being a spy is so much better than being a lap dog.’ He sneered inwardly. Being a lap dog was the equivalent of Jason, who would always get scolded for any tiny mistakes.

However, at least being a spy meant losing his pride in acting only while providing critical information to someone who actually treated him right.

Despite clashing with the Vanguard Guild Leader, the latter never retaliated further after the initial payback. But Gao Zhong would always bring up old topics and news whenever you failed to meet his impossible demands and expectations.

Why should he pay his loyalty to someone like that?

"Phew, I’ve fulfilled my duty for the day." Hundred Ghost stretched his fingers after typing a long essay to Xu Feng.

Phantasm Sea Legacy Part 3 of 7

Xu Feng was currently sailing the gold ranked warship in the dungeon, exploring every nook and cranny until he suddenly received a message notification.

’Hmm, who is it this time?’ He had already informed both Carmen and Veronica that he would be unavailable. Unless it was an emergency, they should just refrain from contacting him.

Taking a deep breath, Xu Feng opened his message and was startled to see the message came from Hundred Ghost.

Shortly after opening the message and reading through it, Xu Feng was amused. "Ah, this Hundred Ghost is really proving his worth. To think he actually studied the material and utilized them well to gain the upper hand."
