Chapter 1053: Siren Bea
Chapter 1053: Siren Bea
Impressed by Hundred Ghost’s action and rise in rank, Xu Feng decided to give him further instruction.
Naturally, he didn’t give a lot of information and only brief ones that could ensure his rise would be smooth, but could also backfire if the latter dared to betray him.
Since Hundred Ghost could become a spy for him, then there was no guarantee that he wouldn’t become a spy for another person.
To such people, Xu Feng could use them, but it must be in caution.
Otherwise, he might be screwed over if he were to place his complete trust in someone like him.
’Alright, this much information should be enough for now.’ Having finished typing out a response, he promptly sent it to Hundred Ghost and informed the latter to avoid contacting him too much.
After all, Xu Feng had no time to waste for some Reaver Guild. Instead, he was more interested and wary of the Illuminati.
"I should resume the sea dungeon." Unwilling to be disturbed any further, Xu Feng opted to turn his status incognito. He didn’t recruit this many people into the guild just for him to babysit them constantly.
They are players with a mind of their own. He was certain that they could make do with or without him when he already laid the foundation for them to proceed.
Now that there was no more distraction, Xu Feng returned his attention to the sea dungeon. The dungeon didn’t appear any different from the Phantasm Sea, making it hard to discern what the objective was.
Unlike other dungeons that list the objective and descriptive detail, there was nothing this time. He was going in blind, almost as if the Divine World wanted him to stay that way.
Sometime later, Xu Feng finally spotted something, a mural to be precise.
A mural was engraved on the walls, but most of the artwork had turned blurry, with some outright gone due to the passage of time.
As he tried to illuminate the surroundings to get a clearer look at the mural, a sudden gust of wind blew past.
Soon, a monster beneath the sea emerged from the surface.
Unfazed, Xu Feng swiftly tried to direct his hydro cannon to shoot at the unknown monster.
But to his astonishment, the monster already boarded his warship and was out of range.
"Damn," Left without a choice, Xu Feng exited the control room and rushed to the deck. His hand grasped the Convergence Staff as he attempted to cast knockback spells to send the monster back to the water.
Unfortunately, right as his casting was about to begin, the monster’s presence vanished.
Stunned, Xu Feng quickly expanded his perception to detect where the monster was. To ensure his protection, he even cast a protective barrier around him just in case they might sneak attack from his blind spots.
He kept his stance and tried to search for the monster’s traces.
If possible, Xu Feng wanted to summon Flint from his pet space, but the system disabled pets.
As Xu Feng wondered where the monster could be coming from, he took a few steps back, hoping to pace himself into a corner.
He wanted his back to face a wall so he would only need to worry about the front.
However, after a few steps backward, his feet touched something solid.
Instantly, Xu Feng propelled himself forward and turned around, only to notice it was the monster from earlier.
And this time, he was able to get a clearer look.
The monster appeared to be an Elementalist that resembled a small hydro ball. It was actually somewhat cute, to be honest.
What astonished him further was that this particular monster was able to bypass his barrier and phase through physical objects.
"What is this creature?" Xu Feng furrowed his brows.
"Burip Berup Berop!"
The monster suddenly made a series of noises, almost as if it was trying to communicate with him.
Having realized the monster wasn’t hostile, Xu Feng lowered his staff slightly and tried his best to understand what it was trying to convey.
"I’m sorry, but I don’t understand your language." He responded. Needless to say, the monster in front of him was an intelligent form. It was just a pity that the language barrier would be difficult to converse with.
An awkward stalemate was made, and the monster soon emitted a glowing light.
A few seconds later, the water in the dungeon started floating upward and entering the monster’s body.
After the absorption of the water, the monster began to transform into a Siren-like goddess.
"Sea Traveler... I’m Bea, a Siren." The Siren introduced themselves. "The monster you witnessed is a pet I have taken centuries ago, Burpe."
"Burpe?" Xu Feng raised an eyebrow. No wonder the monster was spouting something along that line. So it was saying their name as a form of introduction.
"May I know what I can be of help, Siren Bea?" He cupped his fist and asked cautiously.
"There’s no need to be wary, Sea Traveler. I noticed you got the Phantasm Map, which means you’re a friend of the Sirens." Siren Bea said enchantingly, her eyes trailing to the control room where the Phantasm Map was located.
"You came to this place in hopes of finding the components to craft the Siren’s Compass, right?"
Realizing that the Siren seemed to know more than him, Xu Feng didn’t dare to lie and nodded his head.
"Yes, Siren Bea."
"Are you in search of the 3 Abyssal Tide Beacons?"
"Yes."
"The Abyssal Tide Beacons were supposed to be the guidance and light of the darkness in Phantasm Sea. But since the passage of time, the beacons have been damaged and deactivated. Can I ask you, the Sea Traveler, to help our Siren’s race and repair them?"
Upon hearing that, Xu Feng’s system prompt regarding the Phantom’s Wake mission updated and appeared in front of him.
System: You have discovered Siren Bea and came across her request to help bring light to the Phantasm Map! Upon acceptance, you will receive Siren Bea’s pet, Burpe’s assistance, alongside the blueprint for Siren’s Compass!
