Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1054: Burpe

Chapter 1054: Burpe

Looking at the system prompt, Xu Feng was somewhat taken aback.

Could he possibly refuse the request when it was technically a requirement and mandatory to accept the assignment to proceed with his mission?

’Why even bother faking an option for me to choose?’ He sighed in his mind but kept an enthusiastic expression on the surface.

"It would be my honor to bring light to the Phantasm Sea." He glanced at Siren Bea’s projection and placed his hand by his chest.

Siren Bea’s eyes lit up in joy when she heard his acceptance.

"Fantastic, Sea Traveler. The murals depicted in this dungeon give a history of the Phantasm Sea. Burpe will guide you along the way and the blueprint will be at the stretch." Siren Bea said softly before closing her eyes.

Soon, her projection dissipated and Burpe was starting to come back.

However, there were some particles that drizzled upon Xu Feng around the end.

A few seconds later, Burpe returned and stared at Xu Feng with a profound gaze.

It made the same noises from earlier, but unlike previously, he was able to discern what he was saying.

"Greetings, Sea Traveler. Master has ordered me to be your guide, so I will do my very best." Burpe said excitedly and dashed toward him.

Startled, Xu Feng tried to avoid the latter’s enthusiasm, but it was too late.

His barrier was practically non-existent in front of Burpe. The latter easily phased through his barrier and crashed straight into his arm.

He imagined the power of the pet might overwhelm him, but to his surprise, Burpe was very light-weighted. In fact, he felt as if some cotton had crashed into him instead.

Glancing at the excited Burpe, a sudden hit of realization dawned upon him.

"Have you been dwelling in this dungeon for a long time?" Xu Feng asked.

Burpe nodded their head in response. "The sea everywhere is my home, but there’s too many scary monsters outside of here that don’t welcome me."

Without needing any further clarification, Xu Feng was certain that the monsters Burpe referred to were those he encountered in the Phantasm Sea.

Those sea monsters were all aggressive and lacked intelligence, allowing him to blast them repeatedly with the hydro cannon.

If it weren’t for that, then Xu Feng wouldn’t have been able to kill them so swiftly.

Dealing with high-level monsters that lacked intelligence was the greatest harvest a player could ask for.

"Rest assured, Burpe. Those scary monsters will be thinking twice if they want to harm you." Xu Feng patted Burpe’s head.

Burpe became docile when it heard his reassurance to not be afraid of those scary monsters.

Soon a system panel appeared listing Burpe’s information.𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"This is an Epic rarity?" Xu Feng questioned reality when the capability of Burpe was way above average of an Epic rarity.

The glance he used for Burpe had changed from wariness to adoration.

"Oh, I’m going to be bitter for a while when I know you won’t accompany me once the mission is over." He muttered. Every type of mission that enabled players to receive such benefits usually meant it would only be temporary.

There was no way the Divine World would allow such broken pets to be granted to players. Not even his own legendary pet could muster such an ability.

However, one must keep note that Burpe was specifically meant for the Phantasm Sea, so it was only a given that its usefulness was limited here.

Sometime later, Xu Feng went to check on the mural again.

"Can you decipher and interpret this particular mural for me?" He pointed at the barely visible mural and asked.

Burpe nodded, and its eyes soon glowed brightly. Their eyes were like a scanner, scanning the entirety of the mural.

In the next moment, a large description text was shown in the form of a system panel.

[Once a realm of serenity and mystic balance, the Phantasm Sea was ruled not by monsters, but by the Siren Kin, a race of ethereal beings born from melody and moonlight. With their harmonic chants, they tamed tempests and lulled even the wildest leviathans into peace.

But peace breeds stagnation.

A rift emerged between the Siren Kin. Those who wished to uphold harmony, and those who yearned to harness the chaos of the deep for power. The schism gave rise to the Phantasm Siren Warship, a mighty vessel built by defectors and enhanced by forbidden sea-bound relics. It tore through the tides, silencing friend and foe alike.

Desperate to preserve what remained, the loyalist Sirens sacrificed their queen and sealed the Sea Heart, an ancient gem of power, beneath Shade Island. The rebel Sirens vanished shortly after, taking the Phantasm Siren Warship into the storm veils, leaving nothing behind but wreckage and whispers.]

Shortly after the description, Burpe projected the full mural which ends with a depiction of a lone Siren holding a shard of the Sea Heart, standing atop Shade Island’s peak, staring into a sky riddled with lightning.

"So this is the Phantasm Sea Legacy mural in part 3 of 7." Xu Feng commented, finding the description quite confusing.

Maybe it was because this was part 3 and not the first part, which caused him to not understand the Siren Kin and the Phantasm Sea origin.

"Looks like I really need to gather all the mural parts to get a clear picture."
