Chapter 1095: Pirates
Chapter 1095: Pirates
With a single glance, Luther could instantly discern the person’s identity.
After all, every high member had to study the battle conducted by Eclipse Nova.
What Eclipse Nova did was completely out of the ordinary. It also made them question whether healers were truly supporting characters or healbots.
Whoever didn’t bother to study such critical materials was destined to falter in the passage of time.
"This Eclipse Nova hadn’t shown themself for such a long time. It’s hard to imagine what he could possibly do." Steve suddenly commented, his expression filled with dread.
The fact that Eclipse Nova stopped showing himself after one incident, despite numerous other incidents, made them think he had forsaken the Vanguard Guild.
"He’s already making us suffer immense losses with his emergence." Luther hissed and nearly lashed out. He had just been worried about their supply not being able to meet the fervent demands when more troubles decided to show up.
Some of the key ingredients required to concoct the Death Potion were sourced directly from the sea.
Without them, what kind of death potion were they trying to produce?
"Damn it all!" Luther gnashed his teeth and extended his hand, "Gather all our people and rent a ship from some shipyard. We need to meet up with Eclipse Nova to stop him from sabotaging any further."
"Right away!" Steve responded and swiftly made a move.
While Luther was left scrambling to deal with this mess, elsewhere, the chaos had only just begun.
Dragon Wind Empire, Dragon Sea
At sea, Xu Feng led the charge using a ship rented from none other than Handsome Chao.
What made it fantastic was the fact that the ship he rented was free because of his reports on the Phantasm Sea progress. Handsome Chao was immensely pleased and satisfied with the result.
"Boss, we’ve already sunk quite a few NPC ships." Veronica said and asked in a concerned tone, "Are you sure the NPCs wouldn’t look for us to persecute?"
Although they were sabotaging the Miracle Pavilion’s supply chains, the fact remained that these ships belonged to the NPCs. To summarize, they weren’t just attacking the Miracle Pavilion, but the NPCs behind these ships.
And everybody knew better than to fight against an NPC. Many had suffered tremendously trying to pick a fight with an NPC, only to end up either being killed or jailed. Some unfortunate folks were even banned from logging in the Divine World for a few days.
Not to mention, most NPCs tend to have superior levels.
"Fret not, we’re pirates now." Xu Feng remained aloof and casually said. He knew what they were thinking.
Attacking an NPC’s transportation ship?
That was essentially courting death, or at least that was on their mind.
Unfortunately, what these people didn’t know was that the sea laws operated completely differently from the land laws. Land laws basically crippled a player from trying to commit an offense.
However, sea laws were basically nonexistent. The sea was extremely vast and difficult to regulate.
Unless a player specifically targeted the ruling empire’s ships or significant ships, they would usually get away scot-free from targeting other ships.
Additionally, they were at the open sea, completely out of the jurisdiction of the Dragon Wind Empire.
’I bet Luther must be seething in agony now.’ Xu Feng sneered inwardly.
Having read the files and reports given to him by Veronica, he instantly knew the Miracle Pavilion must have recruited Jeanette, otherwise known as the inventor.
She was an inventor because she managed to use her years of scientific knowledge to experiment with the Divine World’s herbs to concoct mysterious and miraculous potions.
’Death Potion... Thankfully, the Miracle Pavilion was careless and reckless enough to reveal that item early on.’ He was relieved to remember this potion and knew he had to cut off the source early on. Otherwise, Jeanette would grow into a very fearsome player once she received more ingredients for her experiments.
After all, the things he learned and concocted came directly from Jeanette, who publicized some of her work in the Game Forum to gain traction. As for why she needed traction, it was because she needed materials and ingredients.
"Keep the momentum going and blast all the ship’s containment. No need to kill the NPCs if they don’t want to resist!" Xu Feng commanded loudly.
"Yes, Boss!"
The rest of the Vanguard Guild elites were beyond excited to be finally releasing the frustration and stress that they had been experiencing lately.
In the next instance, they angled their cannons and shot forth toward the NPC’s ships.
The NPCs were all left in shambles as they struggled to resist and defend against the onslaught.
After all, their ship was only a measly bronze-ranked, whereas Xu Feng’s ship was silver-ranked. But the main difference wasn’t the ranking of ships. Instead, it was the type of ships that both parties were using.
The NPCs were using cargo ships, specialized in defense and stability.
However, the ship that Xu Feng was using was a warship, specifically designed to take down cargo ships.
It was the equivalent of fire meeting water. The fire would be vaporized in an instant.
"Stop, our ship surrenders!" Amidst the bombardment, the captain on the cargo ship sounded the surrender bell and shouted loudly.
Almost immediately, Xu Feng raised his hand to signal the members to stop their firing.
"We’re pirates who have been offended by the Miracle Pavilion. Hence, we are here to take over the Miracle Pavilion’s cargo. As long as you give them up, you are free to leave." Xu Feng held a megaphone and declared.
"Curses, what is wrong with the Miracle Pavilion?" The captain’s facial complexion quickly turned ugly as he blamed the incident and the damage to their cargo ships on the Miracle Pavilion. He didn’t even suspect it to be a lie because the pirates shouldn’t have any reason to lie about their claim.
After all, the pirates could easily have taken their lives as well, but they only demanded the Miracle Pavilion’s cargo.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng smiled coldly behind the mask when he noticed the captain’s expression. ’Let’s see which shipment would accept your commission now, Luther.’
