As the players and NPC soldiers surrounded the perimeter, keeping the regular civilians safe, the monsters finally appeared.

"Hounds?" Hazel’s eyes narrowed slightly. As someone who had resided in Bardmon City for a long time, she knew hounds didn’t exist in the wild.

Not to mention, these hounds didn’t behave naturally like the wild monsters.

Instead, they seemed to be acting on an order.

"There should be a Summoner Enemy nearby. Remain alert." She highly doubted these kinds of high-level hounds were summoned by a player. If anything, this could very well be an enemy whom they were evacuating from.

’Don’t tell me the Vanguard Guild Leader has fallen?’ She wondered silently. The explosion at the defense border was resounding and even spread to their area.

One could easily imagine just how chaotic and intense the battle was at the site.

While Hazel was wondering who their enemies were, the hounds growled furiously and leapt toward them.

"Defend the civilians!" Hazel quickly shouted and fired multiple attacks toward the hounds.

Sparks of clashes immediately consumed their field, whereas the civilians could only cower in fear.

Some couldn’t resist screaming and crying as they hid behind cover.

"Mommy, I’m scared."

"Don’t be scared. These people will defend us."

"We’re all going to die!"

As soon as another person screamed those words, the mother of a child immediately slapped their face without hesitation.

Was he blind or deaf?

As if that wasn’t sad enough, the hounds also inflicted bleed, which further reduced their healing recovery.

The healers on their side had their healing cut and were forced to use more heals than normal just to maintain the tank’s health points.

"Tanks, can you stop taking so much damage?" A healer exclaimed in annoyance.

Almost half their mana had been depleted from healing so many tanks at once. The battle had just barely started, and they were already forced to drink mana recovery potions.

"Stop whining and maintain your position." Hazel’s voice resounded. Unlike the others, she was prepared for a difficult fight.

If even the well-known stubborn Vanguard Guild Leader called for a retreat, you know damn well that shit was about to go down.

Just when Hazel was about to make another command, she suddenly sensed an immediate danger.

Without hesitation, she cast all her defensive skills.
