Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1500: Defense Border Part 15

Chapter 1500: Defense Border Part 15

Cedric became annoyed when he was being belittled even here.

"All of you can die!" Enraged, he summoned numerous hounds, instantly silencing the jeering.

"Now, who was the bastard that teased him?" Hazel twitched her mouth and asked. There should have been a limit to how much you should tease the enemy.

After all, once pushed to the edge, they could easily explode and use everything they got—exactly like now.

Needless to say, the person who made that remark shrank his neck and prayed nobody recalled it was him.

Lucky for him, nobody had the time to search for the culprit either.

Their attention was occupied by the newly summoned hounds.

As a stalemate seemed to have been created, Cedric suddenly extended his hand.

"Charge forward!" He commanded.

"Defend!" Hazel also ordered. The rest immediately assumed a defensive stance, only to be startled when the hounds suddenly shifted their movement.

Rather than charging at them, they were going after the retreating civilians.

"Hahah, bunch of fools!" Cedric burst out laughing when he managed to bait their attention to one focal point.

He had no interest in these Immortals. When he arrived, he made sure to inquire and investigate the surroundings.

After all, knowledge was king.

Without knowledge, one would be traveling in the dark, and that was unacceptable for someone who was assigned the scout task.

Therefore, Cedric had come to learn about a special type of individual who was basically immortal. They could be killed, but within a few seconds, they would be resurrected.

Although in some cases, the resurrection process might take a bit longer, they would still come back nevertheless.

Moreover, there was literally no benefit in killing these Immortals.

So, unless one was as infuriating as Xu Feng, then Cedric seriously had no interest or desire to kill the Immortals as opposed to the natives in the Divine World.

"NOOO!" Hazel panicked and watched as the hounds got close to a mother and child.

She closed her eyes to avoid seeing the inevitable.

BAM!

Her body trembled slightly when she thought about how helpless she was.

She anticipated the scream of tears or something along those lines with such a tragedy. But when nobody did anything and instead started cheering, she was stunned.

’Why are they cheering?’

She recognized some of the voices belonged to Blue Wolves. As their leader, she highly doubted they were some cold-blooded monster.

Slowly, she opened her eyes and her pupils constricted.

"My goodness..." Right in front of her eyes, the hounds that had been troubling them were being repelled by another type of monster.

These monsters, colored in purple, were fierce and overwhelmed the hounds in number.

"Who?" Cedric was also alarmed when his summoned hounds were actually being pushed back.

But in the next moment, he sensed danger from behind.

Swoosh!

Despite his senses, his reaction was ultimately a bit too late due to his injuries.

His arm was slashed by a foreign object.

"Nice try." A voice echoed from a portal.

By the time Cedric got a closer look at the person, his face twisted into an ugly complexion.

"I remember you." Cedric hissed, his other hand clutching tightly on the wound. "You are that woman from the forest back then. My hounds could have killed you had it not been for that bastard’s interruption."

"Hahaha, right." Indeed, the woman was none other than Carmen, who had rushed to Bardmon City as soon as she received a distress signal from Xu Feng.

Till now, she had yet to receive a response from him, which meant he was in peril.

Carmen wasn’t in any mood to deal with Cedric. She could discern that the latter had sustained grave injuries; otherwise, his hounds wouldn’t be this weak.

"Where is the Guild Leader?" Carmen turned to Hazel and asked.

"Y-You are from the Vanguard Guild?" Hazel paused for a moment and finally noticed the guild emblem around her chest.

"Yes." She replied in a flat tone.

’How cold.’ Hazel felt a chill running down her spine. She swallowed a mouthful of saliva before pointing in the direction of the defense border.

"The Guild Leader is fighting over there."

"Hmm?" Carmen followed her pointer and spotted the defense border.

And right at that moment, a loud explosion occurred. The ground tremored heavily, and a large mushroom cloud of smoke could be seen at that distance.

"Guild Leader!" Carmen was horrified and immediately opened a Void Portal to head over there.

"Wait a second," Hazel hurriedly called out to her.

"We alone can’t handle the Tier 4 enemy." She explained.

"The other members are here already." Carmen didn’t even bother to glance at her and replied coolly.

A few seconds later, she entered the portal and left the vicinity.

"Just who is she?" Hazel was dumbfounded by their somewhat cold and agitated emotion.

"She is probably the Vanguard Guild Commander, Demoness." One of her subordinates answered.

"The Demoness?"

"Yes, she should be the Lunar Wraith." The subordinate glanced at the summons who remained in the field to assist in the battle.

Other than the Vanguard Guild Commander Demoness, there could be no other Summoner who could possibly contend against a Tier 4 enemy.

Throughout the ordeal, Cedric’s face flushed red when Carmen treated him like an invisible ant.

His arm was somehow corrupted by something mysterious, forcing him to be unable to expend his time to stop her escape.

He glanced at his hounds that were slowly losing the edge, and how the civilians were heavily protected; he could only snort and retreat to the area.

Of course, that was easier said than done when the Vanguard Guild’s reinforcement had arrived and began chasing after him.

While this was happening, Carmen arrived at the defense border to quickly search for Xu Feng.

It took her a while, but when she did, her expression turned pale.

From afar, she witnessed Xu Feng’s pitiful fate. He lay weakly on the ground and was fanning himself with extreme difficulty.

Carmen felt her heart aching heavily. Never once did she imagine seeing such a sorry state from him.
