Chapter 1542: Legacy Era Part 12
Chapter 1542: Legacy Era Part 12
"All the tanks get to the front!"
"Healers, buff the tanks and support them!"
"DPS ran to the back. Avoid getting hit by their AoE abilities!"
Although everyone was frustrated by the useless scout, they weren’t going to be helpless.
It didn’t even take long for them to regroup and go to their assigned position.
The three mini bosses were each individually taken aggro on the tanks who stepped forward and activated their taunt skills.
"Come at me, big boy!" A Tank from Ethereal snorted coldly.
"I can do this all day!" Another Tank from Nocturnal snickered.
"I hate this..." The Tank, who wanted to go DPS from Paragon, complained softly.
Why did he have to be so good at tanking?
He went tank, but his main objective was to be a DPS while being a Tank.
Yes, he was one of those who despised their class role and went the unorthodox route.
Unfortunately, there was nothing the Tank could do when he joined a Super Guild.
Those high salaries were truly hard to resist.
"If only the sword goddess were here, then I could at least enjoy this tank moment." The Paragon Tank smiled bitterly. He was naturally referring to the Serene Paragon, aka Zhang Jingyi.
But if the Tank were to realize that his so-called sword goddess was the very one who betrayed their operation, it was hard to imagine how they would react.
Shock? Betrayal? Or amazed?
It was hard to guess the mind of a simp, and no psychologist would bother to research them either.
As the group managed to somehow sustain the situation to a favorable moment, Dark Night finally identified the target of assassination.
’These healers are the best in their group. Once they’re taken down, we can rest easy.’ He highlighted the healers in red, which could be seen by the rest who were in the same group as him.
This was a system feature that assisted players in focusing on an enemy without the need to type it or say it aloud.
Of course, Benson ignored those healers because he was assigned the most important role.
Taking out the shotcaller!
’That was the person who shouted the orders and got everyone to regroup.’ Benson’s eyes locked onto a female Sorcerer.
A female shotcaller was rare, but that was usually because they preferred not to lead too much.
It wasn’t discrimination or anything, but it was just that the female voice audio wasn’t louder than the male voice.
To summarize, men are loud as hell as opposed to women.
But most importantly, they would be easily spotted—just like now.
’Oh, don’t blame me for being cruel.’ Benson was determined to destroy the crap out of the female shotcaller.
"Do it whenever you see the chance, Benson. I trust you enough to make that judgment."
"Yes, Leader."
Benson knew the group would only attack once he started. Thus, he can’t just attack without being 100% positive.
Dark Night also didn’t plan on rushing him either. As an assassin, he knew very well that patience was a must.
Those who couldn’t afford to wait even a little bit were failures.
"Retreat more to the side! We’re too up front!" The female shotcaller shouted and made a step.
’My chance’s here!’ It was precisely at that moment that Benson made a move.
He activated flash steps and closed the distance between them.
"Intruder—"
Despite being spotted, it was already too late to stop the momentum.
Benson extended his lance and made a clean jab at the female shotcaller.
[System Notification: Stun has been triggered! The target is stunned for 2 seconds!]
"Good night!" Benson snickered and activated the lance effect.
Just when the female shotcaller allies were about to reach her spot, the explosion’s shockwave instantly sent everyone away.
Benson remained in the spot because of his attributes. He made sure to toss numerous potions on the ground before making his exit.
"You dare to escape?"
"Hmph, eat my attacks!"
Needless to say, the high-agility classes were fuming. They refused to let Benson escape scot-free after the stunt he pulled.
"My job’s done already." Benson sneered coldly as numerous spells were hurled toward his direction.
Of course, the target wasn’t him, but those who attempted to pursue him.
"MORE AMBUSHERS!"
In the meantime, the female shotcaller was resurrected by the healers, only to end up stepping on the liquid that was poured earlier.
"What are these?" She couldn’t even comprehend the situation much when a flame spell landed on the liquid.
As soon as it landed, it was like a gas meeting fire.
Instantly flammable!
WHOOSH!
The female shotcaller ended up being burnt to death shortly after being resurrected.
One could say it was a big tragedy.
Despite being surrounded and supposedly heavily protected, she was assassinated by a mere Tank.
As if that wasn’t embarrassing enough, she was then killed by the environmental effect.
Meanwhile, the tank assassin managed to take advantage of the chaos and retreated to safety.
Although he was also heavily attacked on his way to escape, he was a tank and could endure a lot of attacks.
"Remember this name, Benson!" Benson taunted loudly. "You got screwed by Benson. You all should be embarrassed by your title and so-called Super Guilds status!"
Since they were destined to be enemies, Benson felt no need to hold back his toxic tongue at all.
Hmph, so what if you’re the top guilds?
Didn’t you all get played by me? Let’s see if anyone else dared to underestimate him ever again.
Of course, the higher rank members of the Vanguard Guild were exceptions.
Benson knew very well that he would be pummeled into a pulp if he attempted to fight them.
...
From afar, the battlefield, Carmen watched the screen in approval.
"Benson really has a knack for finding the opportunity." Carmen smiled lightly.
Although Benson’s brain wasn’t functioning well in normal times, his game sense sure functioned properly.
Benson’s actions appeared simplistic on the surface, but that was far from the truth.
He captured the moment that the female shotcaller misstepped, and her supporters wouldn’t be able to react in time under such a time crunch and pressure.
