Chapter 1572: Carmen Commander Battle Part 7
Chapter 1572: Carmen Commander Battle Part 7
Bardmon City, Razor Nightmare Guild Residence
The Guild Residence atmosphere had been gloomy for the past few weeks.
Ever since they lost their footing and trust from the NPCs in Bardmon City, they were barely sustaining themselves in the city.
Despite this, the current Guild Residence was in full motion.
"Hurry up and send more manpower to Great Roc Town!" Edgar slammed his palm in rage.
His eyes were bloodshot. The Great Roc Town was something his Father had emphasized as important.
If he were to lose the town to Vanguard Guild, one could already imagine how feeble his position would become.
’Ugh, can this get any worse?’ Edgar never imagined that his ploy to get Eclipse Nova to reveal himself would result in such a major crisis.
He was almost certain that this Eclipse Nova was someone hidden among the Super Guilds. Otherwise, it was impossible for the Vanguard Guild to skyrocket in every single new update.
Yet his intention of smoking them out resulted in a catastrophe.
He was now facing their fierce retaliation.
What could get any worse?
BAM!
Right at this moment, someone barged the door open.
Edgar’s face quickly turned lifeless. Throughout the past few months, he had gotten so used to his subordinates barging the door open.
It wasn’t that they were being disrespectful or anything. But rather, there was urgent news to deliver that they couldn’t afford to do any of that etiquette.
He used to flip them off, but now he was just a dead man.
"What is it?" He asked in a weak tone. Had Edgar known things could have gotten worse, then he would have kept his doubts hidden.
’Was this what CarnageBound felt?’ News of CarnageBound developing PTSD after his farce with the Vanguard Guild wasn’t unknown to them.
As much as they tried to cover it, the Super Guild all had their own spy and intelligence network to ensure they were up to date with the latest news.
Hence, Edgar knew about CarnageBound’s trauma and outright refusal to do anything that put him in Vanguard Guild’s opposition.
It wasn’t just CarnageBound, but all those who went with him during their operation at Dawnshire City shared the same thoughts.
Had it been anyone else, the Malefic Order Guild would probably discard them.
But CarnageBound’s value and skill weren’t something anyone could just replace. Moreover, he only had problems when dealing with the Vanguard Guild.
Anyone else, and he would still be the same fearsome CarnageBound.
As Edgar feared turning into the same person as CarnageBound, his subordinate finally reported the situation.
"The Vanguard Guild Commander’s army had fled the battle. We then received reports from the mine cave that we owned regarding their appearance. They are requesting reinforcement." The subordinate’s forehead was covered in sweat.
How could they possibly make it there in time?
Almost all the manpower had been allocated to the Great Roc Town.
The distance between the Great Roc Town and the mine cave was extremely far.
By the time they even made it there, the battle was most likely over.
"FUCK!" Edgar cursed aloud.
He was definitely going to get another earful.
Initially, he planned on defending the town glamorously to earn back his approval from Father. And it was going great until now.
On the surface, it seemed like they had successfully fended off Vanguard Guild’s assault.
However, once news of them losing the mine cave to the Vanguard Guild spread, the whole situation changed.
Nobody would think the Vanguard Guild had failed.
Instead, they would praise the Vanguard Guild for such a great misdirectional tactic.
The siege against the town was a facade, whereas the mine cave was the main objective.
Both the town and mine cave were critical development points for the Razor Nightmare to continue to support their members.
Losing one was equivalent to losing one of their main functional limbs.
"Try to send manpower to the mine cave." Edgar frowned and instructed. "Make sure to leave enough people at Great Roc Town. Who knows if it’s another possible misdirection?"
The subordinate was about to heed the command when their expression suddenly changed.
"I-I don’t think there’s any need for further." They responded with a pale look.
"What now?" Edgar’s heart raced a bit. He felt like there was more bad news.
And his intuition would be spot on.
"The Vanguard Guild didn’t steal our mine cave." The subordinate nearly choked on his own saliva as he continued, "Instead, they destroyed the mine cave entirely. Everything inside is gone. All our people were buried alongside it."
A few seconds later, there was still no response.
The subordinate slowly lifted his head, only to realize Edgar had logged off the Divine World.
Or more specifically, Edgar was probably coughing up blood in the real world and was forced to exit the Divine World.
While only darkness gloomed over Bardmon City, back at the mine cave, Carmen flashed a satisfied look.
"Phew, that’s done." She clasped her hands and felt very joyous.
This was the kind of retaliation that was needed to show these people who they were trying to mess with.
"Let’s leave now!" She snapped her fingers and opened a Void Portal.
Soon, everyone else took the portal and left the scene.
Only when a few seconds passed by did the others peek their heads out.
"My goodness, the Vanguard Guild really did it."
"They actually did the taboo!"
"I cannot imagine what will happen next."
Almost everyone present felt a cold shiver running down their spines. To destroy a mine cave was no different than ending one’s resource for all players.
It was considered the biggest taboo.
While the Divine World was destined to undergo a thunderstorm, back in the real world, Xu Feng was dealing with Zhao Xin’s intense reaction.
"Your guild did what?" She lost her composure and relayed the news.
"Oh, she did that?" Xu Feng was nonchalant when he heard the news.
Although he was also slightly taken aback by the move, he didn’t have any intention of scolding Carmen.
She was the Demoness, alright. The deeds she did in the past timeline were something even worse than this.
