Chapter 1573: Carmen Commander Battle Part 8
"You’re not even going to do something about this?" Zhao Xin was flabbergasted.
No one had ever pulled such a move before.
Not even the Super Guilds would dare to do something like this.
At most, they would simply hoard the material and resources for themselves.
However, to destroy them was equivalent to making an enemy out of everyone.
"What would I even do?" Xu Feng shrugged and tilted his head. "The collective Super Guilds declaring war on us? They can try, but I promise that we will bite fiercely."
These Super Guilds were the most unreliable ones when it came to alliances.
They valued their own profit and benefit too much to be truly sacrificing themselves for the greater good.
Moreover, their guild had only targeted Razor Nightmare and only them.
Whether it was by logic or morals, they were in the right because Razor Nightmare provoked them first.
The world was no longer blinded by these rich people’s words.
Almost everyone had their own technological device to access information and cross-reference it too.
"Ugh, I wish I could have that kind of confidence." Zhao Xin knitted her brows. Since the Vanguard Guild company in the real world wasn’t a publicly listed one, the others couldn’t even do anything to dampen it.
Had it been a publicly listed company, the others could simply ruin the stocks and aggressively buy shares to do a hostile takeover.
Unfortunately for them, the Vanguard company was private, and no other people were able to take even 5% of their shares.
"You can save that act for another person." Xu Feng crossed his legs and mused. "I reckon you have taken quite a few shares from Razor Technology, right?"
As soon as his words were finished, the atmosphere in the office quickly changed.
Anna’s expression darkened slightly, whereas Zhao Xin’s expression remained stoic.
"How did you know about that?" Anna asked. She was certain that their action of obtaining stocks was kept a secret.
Could there have been a leaker?
While Anna believed there might be a traitor, Zhao Xin thought otherwise.
"You’re also collecting their shares secretly, right?" Zhao Xin questioned.
Xu Feng didn’t reply, but his sly grin made it obvious.
"As expected." She chuckled in amusement. "No wonder your guild’s movement was so loud and proud this time around. You were trying to tank their share price and buy in low as well."
"It’s a win-win." Xu Feng smiled. As long as he could become a shareholder in Razor Technology, he would have voting power.
With the voting power alone, nobody within Razor Technology would want to antagonize him anymore.
After all, antagonizing him would simply make him join another person’s side.
"So how many shares have you obtained so far? Based on Anna’s report earlier, someone else had been sweeping them up like crazy."
"You tell me, and I’ll tell you."
"Wow, when did you learn to keep such a secret from your big sister?" Zhao Xin giggled, her eyes flickering somewhat. She was astonished but also proud to have seen him become the person he was today.
Although she didn’t know what happened between him and Zhao Kai, the two were starting to look like proper adults.
"How long have you not seen Kai?" She suddenly inquired. She had just noticed that the two became so busy that she rarely saw them hanging out together.
"We do text." Xu Feng flatly replied. The reality was this cruel. As people grew older, the things they had to do were bound to stack up.
By then, the time they got to meet up and fool around lessened drastically.
"Anyway, care to tell me what a busy man like you wants from us?" After the small talk, Zhao Xin was curious about his sudden appearance.
There was no heads up or anything.
He simply waltzed his way in, giving her little to zero time to prepare.
"You’ve been watching the stream, so you should know what’s going on currently." He glanced at her screen, which showed the Vanguard Stream. By now, the popularity of the stream had skyrocketed to a new league.
Each and every one of them had personally witnessed the Vanguard Guild destroying a mine cave.
They were probably making bets at the moment on what the consequences were or if there was going to be any in general.
"Your guild is about to become the public enemy of all?" Anna chimed in at this moment. "Publicly destroying someone’s mine cave is no different than ending the players’ resources. I find it hard to believe everyone would be on your side."
Zhao Xin remained silent, but her silence was enough proof that she leaned on Anna’s belief.
"Vanguard New City is about to open up." Xu Feng suddenly took a sip of the tea and explained. "When a new city opens up, resources are bound to be available. Besides that, NPC merchants who wish to sell their merchandise would flock en masse."
Realization quickly dawned upon the two.
They had been distracted by the guild war and whatnot. They neglected the fact that the Vanguard Guild owned a city and it had yet to be open to the public.
"Hah, your guild really knows how to manipulate people." Zhao Xin had to give it to them.
Even if there might be anger or resentment, all of those emotions would dispel the moment they decided to open the city.
"But that doesn’t answer my question." She continued. She still hadn’t figured out why Xu Feng sought her.
"The upcoming esports tournament. Do you want to win?"
"Who doesn’t? It’s an event sponsored by the world government, and the reward itself is enough to entice even Super Guilds."
The Divine World has become more influential in the real world, and some even start to realize the phenomenon of the game affecting reality.
Those with lingering diseases found themselves gradually recovering when consuming items in the game.
Had it not been for such phenomena, the world government wouldn’t have made the decision to create the first recognized esports tournament to attract more players.
"I have a way to ensure your team will reach at least the top 10 in exchange for a few conditions." Xu Feng revealed his intention.
