Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1575: Esports Tournament Part 2

Chapter 1575: Esports Tournament Part 2

Xu Feng nearly felt like goosebumps were about to form all across his body.

To be addressed as a little brother in such a fake manner by Zhao Xin was very chilling.

"Please don’t ever call me that again." He requested.

"Why not?" Zhao Xin tilted her head. "I’ve been calling you that since you befriended Kai."

Although her words were true, Xu Feng honestly still held some reservations.

After all, in the past timeline, when Zhao Kai mysteriously disappeared, he also no longer contacted Zhao Xin.

The two of them no longer shared a common link.

To them, Zhao Kai was the bridge that connected the two cliffs, and without the bridge, the two cliffs would no longer intersect.

But of course, that was the past timeline, and not the current timeline.

"The shareholders in the Zhao Enterprise also have shares in other stuff." Xu Feng informed and listed out a series of company names.

"As long as you manage to cooperate well with us in taking those companies, these shareholders would have their funds locked. By then, you can implement a mandatory investment under the guise of the world government esports."

"Wouldn’t that make everyone hostile to us?" Anna questioned the plan.

Although the plan would indeed work in eradicating them, these shareholders weren’t some kindhearted individuals. The moment they got screwed in such a manner, they were definitely going to retaliate.

"Do you really think the shareholders care about Xin?" Xu Feng turned to Anna and questioned.

"Sure, they might trust her, but that was only under the circumstance that their interests weren’t compromised. The moment their interest got compromised, they wouldn’t side with her at all." He continued.

He knew precisely how bloodsucking these so-called shareholders could be.

There were some laidback ones who never interfered with company decisions as long as their dividends were sent. But not every shareholder was like that.

In fact, it was more common for the majority of the shareholders to become greedy and desire more power.

That was how a hostile takeover usually originated.

It was when a shareholder’s desire became too overwhelming that they decided to do everything in their power to become the president of the company.

"This would be complicated." Anna frowned deeply. She knew some of these shareholders were still very cozy with Zhao Xin’s grandfather.

Additionally, the majority of them actually stuck with them through multiple storms and financial crises in its early days.

"Time will change everything." Xu Feng said coolly. "I’ll only repeat this once. The shareholders were still friendly because the benefits aligned. But how long can such benefits be maintained? The Super Guilds aren’t for show, and they had already begun to annex quite a lot of mid-sized companies."

Granted that they were all business people, Xu Feng was certain that Zhao Xin had been paying close attention to acquisitions and whatnot.

Even if they tried their best to hide, it would still be discovered given their power.

The world government still tried their best to prevent a giant company from absorbing too much and causing a monopoly, but the limit only stretched thin.

Why else was the esports tournament announced?

It was the world government’s action to suppress the giants and to ease the tension amongst them.

Rather than having multiple companies annexed or taken over, it was better to create a common objective where everyone could focus on.

’Xin should know what I mean by now.’ Xu Feng silently thought. He knew this was a ticking bomb when he heard an esports tournament sponsored by the world government was approved.

It was a deadly factor that could spread far and wide to all companies, especially those privately listed.

After all, they were the easiest target when considering their lack of funds.

However, that didn’t mean publicly listed ones were spared from the flame.

Xu Feng was spared because he had set up multiple foundations and a backup to prevent such a situation from spreading to him.

And now he was offering that prevention to Zhao Xin. If she were to refuse, then Xu Feng could only take a step back.

She made the choice, so it was her consequences to face, not his. He already did his part.

Thankfully, it seemed like his credentials were still relatively high in Zhao Xin’s eyes.

"Very well, I’ll have my people start taking action." Zhao Xin finally spoke up after a long pondering. "But that simulation better work great like you claim to be. If we fail to qualify for the top 10, I would bear a lot of the brunt."

"Haha, you can have a go at it." Xu Feng chuckled heartily. He secretly heaved a sigh of relief because he gained a valuable ally.

The Dark Legion might not qualify as a Super Guild, but their strength and overall power had grown to be a powerful first-rate guild.

"Are you going to extend this offer to Feng as well?" Zhao Xin suddenly asked.

The Feng in her sentence naturally didn’t refer to Xu Feng. Instead, Feng referred to her bestie, Feng Qing Rou, aka Gentle Wind in the Divine World.

"Yes, but you will be the one to deliver the news." Xu Feng took a few seconds before nodding his head.

Feng Qing Rou lost the inheritance war in the past timeline and gradually reduced her public appearances. But in the current timeline, she was gaining a hefty lead and even made a strong stance in the Divine World.

He wasn’t close to her in either of the two timelines. It would have been very weird to suddenly approach her personally as opposed to having Zhao Xin act as the middle person.

"I’ll give you an answer later tonight." Zhao Xin informed him.

"Take your time." Xu Feng stood up and gradually bid farewell. Besides her, there was another person whom Xu Feng had to meet up with.

The one he promised: Zhang Jingyi.

’It’s probably going to be a headache to converse with her.’ Xu Feng could already imagine the awkwardness.
