Chapter 788: A Noble Beast?

A strange silence descended in the underground hall, and one could only hear the sound of people gulping at the terrifying sight they just saw.

Gunner and Jake's team had never seen ghouls exploding like that, especially under someone's gaze, without even lifting a finger.

With looks of shock and disbelief, they took a good look at this ferocious, fully matured tigress.

But what set her apart from a normal tigress was her mystical, otherworldly appearance and her bloody aura, which made them feel goosebumps.

Her fur was white, but there were shimmering light blue stripes covering her body with long, sharp, bright red gems embedded along her spine, and she had five beautiful tails that were elegantly dancing in the air.

Her feral eyes were a hypnotic ruby red and what made her look even more entrancing was her large feathery wings that looked thick and strong enough to let her really fly if she wanted to. They had no doubt that with just a subtle flap of those wings, a powerful gust of wind would follow, which could send men flying.

Before anybody could ask anything, this ethereal beast suddenly transformed into pure waves of blood before taking a smaller form that resembled a six feet tall human woman.

And as if they weren't shocked enough, they saw her wearing a blood-red banded waist dress with a metallic texture and a plunging neck, enough to completely reveal her enticing cleavage and a glimpse of her voluptuous breasts, making her look even more bewitching. It exceptionally accentuated her curves and barely covered a bit more than her lower trunk.

Her long, slender legs and her succulent thighs were not covered by any dress except for the dark red leather stockings while her silky rosy pink hair overflowed even over her thighs.

This bewitching beauty with ruby-red eyes was none other than Valentina, which was the fact that shocked the members of these two squads.

They just saw an ethereal beast transforming into a human, and Gunner was the first to ask with a stupefied look, "Y-You are a Noble Beast?"

Lily, Reva, and Yuria were confused, but then they remembered Damien mentioning to them that only ethereal beasts at or above the Noble Ethereal Realm had the ability to take human form.

So they weren't surprised to see these people wonder whether Valentina was at the Noble Ethereal Realm, especially since she killed these ghouls with so much ease.

"I am not a Noble beast. I am both human and beast," Valentina clarified, seeing their confused expressions. But then she ignored them and walked towards her sisters and said with an apologetic look, "I am sorry for putting you all in danger by not feeding earlier. I will never act like that again," She said with a determined look.

She knew that if these three did not cut their wrists to use their blood to rejuvenate her, none of them would have survived, and she would have not only failed them but failed Damien as well. He had entrusted her with everything and gravely regretted letting his loved ones almost die because of her own selfishness.

"Oh, Valentina…You don't have to apologize for anything," Lily said with a moved smile as she hugged her and patted her back.

Yuria also hugged her and said, "We know you miss Damien just like us. It's okay to be upset about it."

"Without your help, we wouldn't be breathing right now," Reva said in a comforting tone as she patted Valentina's cheek.

Reva's words made Lily and Yuria's expressions complicated as well since they felt they had a lot to work on. They can't always depend on Valentina or let her do all the hard work. They had to learn how to fight together effectively and make sure they could keep each other alive.

Valentina, who had her heart closed off since the moment Damien went missing, suddenly felt warmth returning to her heart upon feeling their warmth. Only now she realized how much she had them worried by not feeding for an entire week and decided to stop sulking and do her best so that Damien wouldn't feel letdown when they reunited.

She realized she wasn't alone even if Damien was not by her side. Her sisters were always by her side, having her back and looking after her.

As his mate, it was her duty to look after his other mates. However, now she didn't feel obliged by her duty but by the connection she had with them as sisters.

Now that her mind was focused, she could feel how her soul was in touch with the soul of these three as well, giving her the ability to feel them without even talking.

While these four women were sharing a warm moment, Gunner and Jake's team came back to their senses.

All of them didn't understand what Valentina meant when she said she was both human and beast since it just didn't make sense. They just thought that she must consider herself a human just because she could take human form.

However, Gunner swallowed his saliva when he thought how close he was to dying when he foolishly challenged Valentina to a duel a week ago.

He didn't even dare to imagine how he would have ended up if he didn't wisely surrender. Now it made even more sense why the Station Master, Kena, praised him so much for surrendering. He never stood a chance in the first place. Not even if his entire squad fought together.

With shivering eyes, he and the others saw the decapitated head of the Ghoul Chief lying on the muddy floor. They had no doubt that it was Valentina who tore off the head of that ghoul whom they thought was impossible to defeat.

"Lita, you better apologize for what you did! Because of your cowardice, my Ana almost got killed!" Berret suddenly roared as he stepped forward while Ana timidly sat on the rock behind him, tugging at his suit, telling him to not start a fight because of her.
