Rise of The Anti God

Chapter 797: Are We Enemies?

Chapter 797: Are We Enemies?

Damien opened the door and was shocked to see the state of her room. The walls were a blackened mess, and there was not even a single object that hadn't turned into ashes.

His vision was also obscured by the smoke coming off from all the burned stuff.

He squinted his eyes as he made his way through the smoke, and just as he was wondering where Mira was, he felt a cold blade pressing against his neck.

"I don't remember giving you the key to my room. I don't like anyone entering without my permission," Mira coldly said as she stood behind her while her blade was still pressed against his neck. She could guess Aunt Jayna gave him the key but why.

Damien subtly smiled as he raised his hands while standing still, "So? Are you going to kill me for entering your room? Or whatever is left of it anyway?" Damien chuckled.

Mira's face reddened as she found it embarrassing that he realized what had happened after seeing the state of her room.

Mira withdrew her blade as she harrumphed, "Hmph, I can't even if I want to. Unfortunately, my Master happened to be your aunt. You should thank the Godqueen for being born into our clan. Now, leave my room. I don't want to see your face," She said as she turned around with a petulant look.

Damien turned around and saw how her back was turned towards him, making him smile, feeling amused, "But I want to see yours. I can't leave without doing that."

Mira's eyes fluttered as she fumbled, "M-My face? Don't be ridiculous! I don't want to," She didn't know why he was saying such strange things to her, making her feel flustered for no reason.

"Why? Do you have something on your face to be shy about?" Damien asked as he softly took a step towards her while she was distracted by his words.

"Nonsense!" She snorted as she turned around with a peevish look, "I have nothing to be shy abo—" She was startled when she saw Damien standing too close before her, his height towering over hers.

"There you are. Now that I can finally see your beautiful eyes, I wanted to say that I regret shouting at you. I didn't really want to," Damien said with a softened gaze.

Mira felt her heart pounding against her chest as she could even smell the intoxicating scent of his body while he said these words, which were a surprise to her. She thought he was very mad at her, and yet he was being quite gentle to her, his aura not at all frightening as it was before.

She didn't know why but the feeling of guilt inside her only increased after hearing his words and feeling his gaze.

She took a deep breath as she closed her eyes shut and said in a low voice, "I…I apologize for saying those words…I also didn't mean to hurt your feelings…I…I only wanted t-to…" Mira found herself stammering and didn't know why it was so hard for her to apologize. She just wanted to get this heaviness off her chest by apologizing, but the more she talked, the more she struggled.

Damien let out a chortle as he never thought someone like her could be so cute.

Mira's cheeks became red as a tomato as she pursed her lips and said, "Don't laugh. I am trying to apologize here. If you don't want to hear it, fine, hmph," She harrumphed as she looked away.

"You don't have to finish your apology because I now know you didn't intend to hurt me," Damien said with a fixed gaze, making Mira avert her face and wonder what caused such a change of heart inside him.

Could it be that Aunt Jayna again had something to do with this? What did she tell him? Mira was worried that she told anything embarrassing to him.

However, inwardly she felt glad that Aunt Jayna intervened since otherwise, she probably could have never approached him to apologize.

"So now that we both have sorted our misunderstandings, let's be friends again, hm?" Damien asked as he offered his hand for a handshake, making Mira look at him in confusion, wondering why he was showing his hand to her.

However, hearing his words, she crossed her arms and said with a huff, "I don't need any friends."

"Then do you mean we are enemies? Only friends apologize to each other sincerely, while enemies offer apologies that carry no worth," Damien said with a subtle smile, making Mira's eyes blink in confusion, wondering if that was right.

But thinking about it again, his words did make sense since enemies wouldn't apologize.

Since she didn't want him to think that her apology was not sincere, she reluctantly nodded, "Euhhh…if you insist, fine. I will let you have the honor of being my friend," Mira said with a raised chin.

Damien chuckled and said, "Good. Now shake my hand so that we can mark the beginning of our friendship."

'Is this some kind of human ritual?' Mira wondered in her mind as she slowly raised her hand and shook his hand in an awkward way.

"That is not how you shake someone's hand. This is how," Damien said as he pulled forward her wrist and shook her soft slender hand completely, letting their palms fully touch each other.

Mira was unconsciously about to pull her hand away. But when she felt his big warm hand enveloping her cold hand, she didn't feel like pulling away her hand anymore.

She thought she would be repelled by touching his hand since it looked like that of a human. But for the same reason, she only felt it comfortable and warm.

However, she came back to her senses as she awkwardly pulled away her hand and hid it behind her as she said, "T-That's enough of shaking hands. I am going to train!" She said as she hurriedly walked away with a faint blush on her cheeks.

"Without cleaning up her room? What a strange girl," Damien chuckled as he shook his head, though he was feeling glad that he sorted things out with her. In the end, she doesn't seem bad at all.
